OK, so the scorpion won't reload mags now. It breaks the mag in the gun and which ever one it tried to swap with. For crying out loud, with every fix comes a new broken thing, just FIX YOUR GAME 🤬🤬🤬
-
In the grand scheme of things, I really hope the devs don't focus resources on fixing that 😄

Oh my god. Daylight has arrived. I step out my tent, try to pick up the cable reel that's been left behind, and it's immediately stuck in my hand. Now I'll need to reboot the server. Seriously, I've logged on, hit a bug within a few seconds, had to wait for day time, only to immediately hit another bug that requires a full server restart. I've not done anything yet, it's a private server with nobody on it, and the game has broken within seconds of my booting it up. How the hell do software companies get away with this. Somebody should start a class action and at this point we should be looking at getting our money back. This isn't a game preview anymore, and it still plays like a broken mess of a pre alpha build. We've all been used as a cash cow and been blatantly ripped off. It's not even like we've been impatient, the game is years old now and nothing changes, it's still a broken mess.

Well, I've logged back onto my server for the first time in a week (work life and all that) and its night time. Surprise sur god damn surprise, all the lights have despawned along with the generators. 5 seconds I've been on and POW first bug hits me right away. Now I'm sat staring at a black screen unable to do anything. I don't want to turn night off but I really don't see any other solution. This game really is a total sh1t show. I dream of the day a developer with talent brings out a similar alternative game that works. Soon as that happens DayZ servers will be empty overnight.

And I've just got back to my base, and again I've had to reset the server. Generators have vanished, some that haven't won't switch on, I can't switch any of the lights on, a cable reel got stuck in my hand and I couldn't out it down. Inventory stuck in the car. Reset the server, sorted a couple things, headed out of my base, and the games crashed. Restarted, come back on, none of my weapons will aim down site or fire, when I press the right trigger my guys walks instead. The list goes on and on and on and on!!!

I've long stopped bothering with public servers so can't comment on how they are right now, I'm on a private server. The game experience is still horrific. Inventory management still entirely broken and constant server restarts required as often as every few minutes at times. Zombies still glitch through walls. Lost 2 more cars due to lag and death is a regualry risk from just bugs and glitches alone. Trying to manage inventory, which is a core game mechanic, has you tearing your hair out at times with things getting de-sync'd, items getting locked in crates, and the game loses track of where things are constantly, I mean you can't even scroll around without it losing track of where you're trying to scroll to. How no progress is being made with these things is baffling, we can only assume the devs lack the necessary talent to fix this. Only reason I'm posting this is because Ive again had to log off and reboot the server. The developers need to stop work on this game NOW. Hire in the necessary talent, and start work on Dayz 2 on a totally new game engine that will actually work. Either this or they should just give up because it's getting beyond a joke now, how patient do we really need to be!

Pretty sure duping is still rife. I've stopped playing on public servers they're a complete waste of time and generally populated by PvP players that only KOS, and groups that are stashing a ton of gear (presumably duping it) completely messing up the spawning. I've seen servers with 20-30 car tents all pitched to form some sort of base, no way that's legit.

Just tap right on the D-pad and it usually fixes it. Another new bug I know, but a workable one.

Not had this issue, but have noticed a new bug in this update where a fire appears to keep burning after is supposed to have run out. You can't use it or do anything with it, but it does look like it's burning. As other have mentioned as well, I've noticed more server crashes. We turned zombies off to try help but it didn't seem to make any difference. Gotta be honest, the general player experience is worse with this update.
-
It does rain a lot but I like the rain. OK so maybe it rains a bit too much but its hardly the biggest issue. I've had a day playing since the update and so far none of the usual bugs have been resolved and the game performance is worse than before the update. The frame rate is terrible now. Textures take a few seconds to load constantly. Inventory still gets stuck, de-syncs, or doesn't move around properly. Cars are still a total mess and stuff depawns when it's not supposed to. Zombies are spawning on roof tops and inside buildings in rooms with no way in or out. The bandage bug is still there and generally all the major bugs are still as alive and well as they ever where, including some dropped items totally vanishing. I'm on a private server with all the zombies turned off and the game performance is still choppy as heck. Yup, the rain is the least of the games problems, but truth be told they obviously can't fix all that stuff and it's basically how the game is.

Public servers are always like this and always will be, you have to accept it. The alternative is to rent a private server where there's nothing going on at all.
-
Well, inventory is broken exactly as it always was, cars are still super glitchy plus your character takes damage most time you try exit the vehicle. General performance seems much worse with constant persistent texture loading visible at all times, terrible framerates, and now there's a door in one of the buildings that's is now broken and flys across a room. I've also had my character carry items nobody else can see and I appear to have no arms, and items flopping about when putting them down which is strange. I'd not played for a while and came on to see all the nice new improvements, as I usually do after I get fed up of all the bugs. If I'm honest it seems worse and can't see any improvements, not a big deal as it was pretty much expected at this point I suppose. All this was within the first couple hours of coming back on so it seems business as usual. Any idea when 1.08 will be released?

Don't think this will ever get resolved, the devs seem to handle the games inability to properly maintain inventory and bases by making sure everything breaks easy or just disappears on its own. If you want a virtually impregnable base, simply face 2 car tents opposite each other. On the EU server 1492 in Brena there is a base with maybe 20 or more car tents all set out that way. It's pretty lame. Pointing out these things on the forums will result in your ability to reply to or start new threads being removed (I can no longer post in the general forum). I stopped playing for a while and came back on yesterday, in a 4 hour session I found a base I was able to break into within a few seconds, but worse was the fact all the same bugs are still alive and well. Inventory desync, inability to use bandages when trying to heal resulting in a rush to relog only to find all my bandages weren't even in my inventory. By the end of the session I'd found barely any weapons (I assume the guys in Brena are duping and that's not been fixed yet either), and was eventually killed by a guy that took 2 or 3 shots to the face at point blank range from an SK I'd picked up, and killed me with a single shovel hit to the face. I am honestly baffled by how the devs manage this game and in what universe exactly a shovel hit is more powerful than at least 2 x 7.62mm rounds to the face from a couple metres range. You've really just got to accept the game as it and suck it up if you want to keep playing. There are some decent alternatives on the horizon that I think might kill this game off if these fundamentals of the game stay forever fubar'd.

That's not what I said is it. Run along.....

I think he wants someone to touch his noodle.... FWIW, 2 of the supposed main fixes, the crashes and character updates I never really had an issue with before the latest update. This weekend just gone I played most of the Sunday and suffered multiple regular game crashes and my log screen character was almost always out of sync with my character server side, so these 2 supposed fixes have actually made these 2 specific things much worse for me. Just another case of an update breaking as much as it was supposed to fix. I keep saying this is one of the most badly put together games I've seen in recent memory, and every update seems to keep proving that. I keep persevering with it because I don't want to have wasted my money, but I'm starting to lose hope, and interest. Not a single person on my xbox FL that I used to play with bother with this game anymore, and despite the higher purchase price, the game is so far behind the PC version it still feels like early access, despite the 'full release' and £50 price tag!

I was thinking about this and came up with an idea. Basically, when you first place a wall it should be essentially indestructible, or take approximately the same amount of damage as it takes an axe/hatchet/shovel etc to ruin a single panel. Over time it should degrade and require maintenance to keep it in good condition and 'indestructible' . Once condition drops to a set point due to lack of maintenance, it should look different and be more vulnerable to attack, becoming weaker the longer it goes with proper maintence meaning they can be broken more quickly and easily, eventually collapsing entirely. This would serve a couple purposes. Firstly it would put some sort of cap on the size of base you could build due to the maintenance required or requiring group efforts to make and maintain larger bases. Secondly it would make a good base useful as regular play will mean you can keep it maintained and very hard to defeat so that bases are genuinely useful, and it would clean up unused bases over time in a more organic way.

This is like xbox in the days before party chat. You could jump online anytime in any game as a solo players and you'd be adding new people to your friend list all the time. These days it's a ghost town. I'm currently dead and need to start again, and my death was no doubt partly attributable to no coms. I gunned down a guy that walked in my room, basically a KOS, and he was unarmed. I figured he knew I was there and was coming for me as he was with another player. He didn't respond to coms so I just opened fire. His friend didn't show so I figured I was wrong and he must have been alone as there were zombies around. He didn't have a gun out when he opened the door and I felt bad for just gunning him down. His friend jumped my while I reloaded a mag and just gunned me down no questions. Can't really blame him, but open coms via game chat would go a long way to helping solve the KOS situation. Even players like me that hate KOS do it simply because you expect it to be them or you, and I reckon we would see a significant drop in KOS events if people could hear each other when in proximity by default.

That's great, until someone comes along and destroys it all with a hatchet in 5 minutes whike you're offline. Bases are pretty useless on xbox right now.
-
Seems like someone is one of the KOS player everybody hates and is sulking because you aren't getting one hit kills while hunting people from range. Ive been one kit killed on several occasions, even with load of army gear on that's all in good condition. It sucks when that happens and I don't think the game needs this turning up! It even makes me a little bit happy to know it upsets you, the game has too many KOS players as it is.

I keep saying this, but nighttime really is unplayable. I've just logged on again and it's dark, and tried to roll with it, and I just can see so again I've turned it off and here I am again, waiting for daylight. Here's the problem. Other than at dawn or dusk, it's just a black screen, and I'm just staring at my reflection, and this is entirely unplayable. At dawn or dusk the the sky is brighter but it doesn't really help, it just sillouettes the tops of the trees and buildings against the sky. They've added the local glow so you can see around your immediate proximity, but this doesn't work for me in the day, it only has any use when my room is also dark. I also don't like it as it defeats the purpose of torches etc, which brings me to my next point. At night you cant use a torch, but it makes you the hottest target in the vicinity so it's too risky. Their use should be for indoors. When outside the moonlight should give you enough light to move around outside of the shadows. Indoors should be pitch black except for any light that comes through the windows, and this is where head lamps and torches or glow sticks should come into use, but the local glow they added defeats this. IMO, the game bugs are annoying, but the only thing making it unplayable is night time, for me this needs a serious fix as it's driving people away, and you can see the proof as night falls and server counts take a dive, come daytime it fills up again.
-
I wouldn't call it totally unplayable, but I get the frustration. I'm playing it less and less and hardly know anyone that has stuck with it because sooner or later the bugs just get too annoying. I put it on today, joined as server just as night was falling, and logged off. I intended to wait for day but just ended up playing something else instead, and night is just a blanket black screen, which actually is unplayable.for me at least.

Tires can be repaired. I tend to stock a spare of everything in the vehicle. The big problem is the car itself. I got one going the other day, last 29 mins before lagging into a tree. Nothing damaged at all, everything was pristine except nothing could be removed from the car and the cars chassis was ruined. I just rolled my eyes, muttered 'typical' to myself and went back to walking.
-
Strange, driving aside, I hardly ever get game crashes. Happens all the time in cars but playing normally on foot it doesn't happen. I'd do get desync when combining items, so maybe your games crashing when you get desync, just a guess though.

I'm using a 65 inch 4k TV, and I've boosted the image with dynamic mode and I still can't see jack. I set my screen for accuracy though, not for brightness. I'm carrying chicken and goat steak, I ate the fat already. I've now taken to putting my food in my field vest so I can carry it when needed. Wierd glitch though, I logged off and on and my health was back to normal, put the vest on and it instantly dropped by a 3rd. Anyway, as ever there's a workaround so I just do that instead. Eventually the food did cool enough, but it took about 3 day night cycles.

I don't think the Internet makes all that much difference. I have a fibre line to the house with some of the best ping times I've ever seen, and I'm playing on an xb1x, so maybe adding an SSD is what's helping?
