Just to add to the unplayability factor. Night time is still pointless, it's still like someone's turned my TV off. I've just logged off to play a different game because I was in a forest walking along a trail when dark fell. I can't even see the trail I was walking on beneath my own feet. I know night has to be darker, but without NVGs it's simply unplayable, period. Another gripe that needs looking at is cooked food. Kill a goat and try carry that meat once its cooked, and it stays hot Forever, and will kill you. It's a frankly rediculous idea that cooked food never cools down and having it in your field jacket will result in permanent overheat and death. Food will perish before you get hungry again and will kill you before it fully perishes, bonkers.

Might be easier for you to add me. I'll be on most of today, not so much when I'm back at work. My xbox tag is M0onfly.

Try experiencing the game where almost every death is due to a bug and I'm sure you'll get fed up of it too. I do die legit ways from time to time and those deaths don't bother me one bit, and I often enjoy starting again. If we don't get vocal about it, how else are these things going to get fixed. Also doesn't help then everyone on my friends list who used to play have also quit the game due to bugs! As for zombies, I've stopped bothering with guns, now I just take them out one at a time as I see them instead. If they agro in groups I run to a building, and I've found that if you channel them to a doorway, you can basically prevent then running past you or each other and then just take them out one at a time in a line with a melee weapon. It's a bit tedious, especially now all their loot is removed, but it gets the job done.

I don't bother with cars anymore, period. Used to, and part of the reason we had 4 was because we knew they would break so we were keeping back ups, and yes it was our own server. I play on an XB1X I bought specifically for this game (the other reason being to play 4k BRs). Now I just play alone on official servers. As for the food, when I first joined livonia I found tins of food without issue, had a backpack full of food. I suspect the loot system is to blame, you can tell what people are and are not stocking based on what you find. The last two times I died from starvation was because I had no knife or anything to cut meat, so couldn't hunt, and couldn't find food so that was it really, pretty boring to simply die from starvation twice in a row. As luck would have it, the 2nd time I intentionally managed to die in a place to give myself the best chance to get me kit back, and did, then found a machete, then went hunting and now I'm fine for food again. I now make a real effort to always carry a couple knives and try to find sharpening stones, which are also mysteriously scarce now. The loot system is the main issue. Knives now ruin in no time at all and they're required for hunting, so people I assume are starting to stock them, making them scarce. Yesterday I found a scorpion, the only automatic weapon Ive ever found! I have a mosin with no ammo, a shot gun with a couple stags of shells, and a couple pistols, and that's it. I've circled the map multiple times and can't find anything. I suspect at this point, on a popular server, I'll need to kill someone, which I try avoid doing but it's pretty unusual for people to play nice. I try avoid people now as the risk is too high, but the last 2 people Ive seen I've hidden from and let them leave the area rather than kill them, but I fear given the state of play with cars and base building, ultimately the game is going to push me to KOS, such as it is on xbox. As for base building, please don't defend it by saying it was never in the original game, it's there now, has been for a little while, and should at least work on a basic level. It sort of does but needs improving. Base building is needed to give the game more longevity, walking round the map looking for food that doesn't exist and loot nobody wants (hats, glow sticks and spanners for everyone though) will eventually get tiresome if there's nothing else to do other than get shot!

I'm often baffled how much some people defend the game, but perhaps that's why, that some people don't have these issues. I can't play for more than about a half hour before I run into one bug or another and only dream of playing without the problems. Last base I tried building was on a private server and we had 4 tents in a hangar, a fence and gate across the opening, and 4 cars inside. We had a ton of inventory and were about to get experimenting with building a better base. One day we logged on to find 1 car had just vanished along with all the gear in it. We set off in another car figuring we had cars so no big deal, and on driving out the base it immediately de-sync'd flipped all over the place and smashed itself up. It ended up on its side, couldn't get any inventory out, and it killed 2 of our team in the process. We took another car to pick the dead guys up, only for the 3rd car to de-sync on the way back, killing one guy and leaving the rest stranded miles from base. I was down to half health and ended up fighting a bunch of zombies which I killed. I however was down to about a quarter health and was cut, and suddenly I couldnt use the bandages, rags, or blood bag I had on me. I bled out and the team was down to two because of this series of bugs. By that time we'd all had enough and gave up, the 4 of us haven't played together since, and this was on a private server, so in theory should have been less problematic. I logged back on about a week later and trekked back to base to find our last car gone, all generators and lights gone, and yet more inventory boxes we had full of loot with lots of the gear that we couldn't get out, even with a server restart. There used to be 4 or 5 friends that I would play with regularly. None of them play anymore due to being sick of the bugs, so I do find it hard to defend the state of the game personally. The style of the game means to build bases and get cars, even as a team, is a considerable time investment, especially when you have limited time and only play maybe 2 or 3 times a week. When the game basically just kills you through bugs and randomly deletes your loot, it does really wind you up.

Another thing with Livonia is that food is a lot more scarce. I think this is people hoarding and causing things to not spawn more than anything, but my last two deaths have been through lack of food. Last time I found a couple tins of food that dragged things out, but that was after searching 2 whole towns, looking in every building plus killing maybe 100 zombies. There's literally nothing anywhere. Dying from starvation at this point is a bit of a joke when I've been playing this game for years. Removing all the food is not a good way to make the game more difficult, it makes playing it pointless. All the above said, I did manage to find my body and get all my kit back, so all was not lost, but I am currently still food less and hungry so the loot system is still very much in need of optimising better.

Had the same thing yesterday. Yet again I find myself playing a different game due to this games issues. The devs are killing their own player base off slowly but surely.

There are way more bugs than these still causing issues. Here's a few I regularly suffer, some of which are already mentioned above but I'll include them - - on resuming the game when powering the console back on, the game fails to connect to servers and requires a full restart of the game - Some items, particularly clothing, will vanish when dropped. This means you will lose all inventory in that item. Once you're aware you can wor around this but its still a bug. - Item/weapon desync is persitant requiring a relog every 30 minutes or so and there's no way to know its happened until you need or use an item. - items that have sat in your inventory for a while without being used will sometimes just become unusable for no reason, meaning you basically have to throw apparently good gear away for no reason other than a game bug. - Cars. I've given up on them, they're a death trap and way more effort than they're worth. - The game will lose its brain when a horde agros. Doors will become very difficult to open and close and things generally get real buggy real quick. - Character sometimes can't move for a few seconds after quick switching weapons it reloading. - I've had instances of being unable to fix a wound after combat even though I've had rags and bandages on me. Had the same with a blood bag as well with the items simply not being able to be used. - I couldn't join any server at all yesterday, simply wouldn't connect. -Also suffer game crashes, more typically when driving cars. There's probably more which I'll add as I remember them, though I suspect this thread will be 'tided away' soon enough.

There's still no real progress been made with respect to the bugs. I don't bother with cars and base building as those things still just aren't worth the hassle. If you've played enough to be able to limit the damage the bugs will do to your experience of the game, then it's a cheap enough add-on (as long as you think 10 quid for 1 map is cheap), though you could argue the game it still effectively in a preview state even though they've now slapped full price on it. Public servers have all the same old issues, everyone is KOS more or less so the main reason people seem to play is to play PVP. Fresh spawns will straight up attack a kitted up guy rather than try play nice. Looting is a pain as most of what you'll find is the left over trash people aren't picking up, so that ain't changed despite attempts to fix duping and server hoping. The map itself is more interesting. The weather is a nice addition and it add to the experience. I've not seen any wolves or bears yet as I go out my way to avoid them, but in general the map is more interesting. I hate the state of the game but keep playing regardless so it's been sort of worth it for me, and it's nice to not have an empty map where basically everyone just runs to the airfield. I still feel a bit ripped off with the state of the game but do keep playing, whether you'll think that way or not only you can decide, but the map itself and the weather system is decent enough.

I used to agro zombies on purpose, run inside a building, then pop them with a head shot as they lined up at the windows. All pistols used to drop pretty much all zombies with a single shit, on Livonia they all take at least two, and I've seen the odd 3 shot as well. It's not de-sync, using a rifle drops then no probs. I'm not actually that bothered about it to be honest, it's just that my experience seems to be opposite to the patch notes, which is pretty common if I'm honest.
-
So many of those things arent fixed. Zombies are still harder to kill with head shots from pistols than they used to be, so God knows what they did there. The inventory swapping is broken as ever as well, seems the latest fixed did the typical 'slightly fixed one thing but made lots of other things worse'. Today I swapped my jacket with one on the floor, and my jacket didn't go to the ground, it vanished, along with my dray bag and all the bullets I had, leaving me with zero ammo. I regularly see inventory items just dissappear, you pick them up but they don't go into your inventory, or you move something around only for it to vanish. I dream of a day it works properly, but honestly, I don't think BI have the necessary skill to do the work.
-
You missed out the totally fubar inventory system, where you pick things up but they just vanish and aren't in your kit, or where inventory items get stuck wherever they're stored, or where you drop things for others but they can't see the item, or you can't move items around correctly, or where you try to pick an item up only for something else to be picked up instead, Soooooooo many bugs, and really old bugs too that have been there since forever. I too hate this game, yet somehow keep finding myself playing it. Hopefully soon a decent developer with skills will make a rip off version that actually works.

Not everyone will try kill you, but I reckon maybe 1 in 20 people will play nice. I've had fresh spawns hit me, I've threatened them with a gun and let them be, and they have still followed and tried to kill me again. I hit them back with a knife as a final warning and they pretended to fall back, only to try sneak up on my a 3rd time, at which point I just shot them. Almost nobody is friendly on console, and it's a self purpetuating problem, now everybody is expecting to be killed on sight, everyone plays it safe and goes first. I've tried a few times with a fresh spawn to to be friendly and go out of my way to show non aggression, people will shoot you anyway. People will even be your friend for a while and then just shoot you when your not looking 2 hours in just for your loot. The gane is what it is, you're just gonna have to deal with it I'm afraid.

Cars definitely drive better than they did, but you're right, they're still trash and a wsste of time. I was determined not to get the dlc until the game was fixed but did anyway and its no surprise to see all the same bugs still present as ever. The devs are borderline ripping console players off at this point. Imagine if you bought a new car only to find the headlights didn't work. Then they tell you the will fix them later, and a couple years later they're still not fixed, but they're still selling new versions and even brought out an updated version with the exact same problem. If this was BMW they'd have a class action on them and fines into the millions in no time, but software companies are immune. Why bother putting resources into fixing bugs when you can just produce some dlc content instead and carry cash grabbing with no consequences. Ive given up on cars now. Getting them is far easier on this map, but that's not really the fix I was hoping for. Between flying up over buildings and being totally ruined the second you touch that lamppost you de-sync'd into, they're way more trouble than they're worth. Same goes for base building. The inventory system remains as broken as ever and outside of those 3 things there isn't much left to do. If I could get my money back, at this point I probably would.

If nobody cares to hear opinions on the game based on the experience of the game they had, why is there even a forum again? These people, and I'm one of them, are here because they're not playing the game, which is because of the poor state of the game. They come here because they paid good money to play a game that doesn't work properly, if it did this forum would be a ghost town, or just full of fun content and feedback. I personally want to see these post, I want the developers to be aware of how the game is being received and these posts do that.

When you play a game as it is offered, and the game mechanics are such you have to avoid using game features in very particular ways to avoid the bugs, bugs that remain after years of 'development', that's a game issue not a player issue. I've stopped playing it again for about the 4th time, so I'll likely just await the next update, and in part that's because the band of 6 friends I play with have also all lost interest because they're just sick to death of fighting against game bugs. It's laughable that your solutions to the game bugs are things like 'well just don't use cars then'. You know what, I'm following your advice already, I've found the 100% guaranteed solution to every single bug, we simply don't play the game anymore 🙄
-
Wait, so two of the main features have gone missing on this new map. Another update that adds something and takes something else away. It's a tired old routine now.

I've had 2 cars vanish from inside our ware house, though for a while we had 4 cars packed in there, all of which no longer exist because of one bug or another. We lost one car exiting the building, as we drove out the car simply flipped onto its side for no apparent reason and that was that. We are currently down to 2 cars, one of which is in a town miles away so will likely also vanish. 2 of our squad had to respawn due to death, one of which was me and I died following a car crash (another glitch incident) leaving all my gear ruined, and a single zombie hit cut me while none of my kit would heal me, nadaged not working, blood pack wouldnt work, knife wouldn't cut anything and all the back up loot stuck in the car and unremovable. Cars are becoming more trouble than theyre worth, most won't move in any gear past first on anything but perfectly flat road.
-
Head out for a couple of days and see if they remain. I've had 4 vanish in the last week. We've resorted to putting them in tents, which ultimately has meant we've stopped bothering with them, it's a pain having to lump them back to the lights (which also vanish if left) and hook them up each time you want to use them. We just stick to NVGs now.
-
Generators all disappear after a day or two no matter what (seems a bit random), another thing that will undoubtedly never be fixed.

I'm the same, I drop in to update myself on how things are after taking yet another break due to the sheer volume of experience trashing bugs. It's wierd how some people refuse to acknowledge how bad this game is for a pure performance state. I still play a bit but I must have 10 friends that started this with me and very few come back simply because they are sick of the bugs trashing all their efforts. I'm currently playing on a private server and the performance isn't even slightly improved, the games just broken all over the place and the devs don't seem to care. They drop feed small updates that break as much as they fix and still the game remains a bug filled lottery that will eventually kill even the most experienced player with a bug. I can't remember the last time I died from normal gameplay, or lost something due to carelessness, every fail is down to bugs. People can back the game all they want, but to deny the bugs is just really wierd.
-
I hope the new map fixes all the things broken with the currently unfinished map we are all playing on. If it's as buggy as the original map, there's not a cat in hells chance I'll be handing over more money!
-
Gotta agree with this, especially as they're now asking for 40 quid on xbox store for what is still a very broken and very unfinished game. I e lost two cars today and died twice this week, all losses entirely attributable to game bugs. Today alone my game has dashboarded while driving, then a mate tried driving instead and as we entered a town, the car touched a kirb at crawling speed and the car was thrown over a building and ruined. All 4 of us where KO'd but survived, only for a zombie to hit me and cut me from a single hit. My blood packs wouldn't use, and I couldn't craft any rags or use the bandages I had on me, the option was just not there. I've never seen such a buggy game that's so poorly supported which at this point and the asking price is inexcusable. Xbox QC has taken a dive this gen!
-
I play on an Xbox1X and still hit bugs on an hourly basis. Inventory vanishing, getting stuck in crates, cars glitching, having to relog, it's not the hardware that's the issue, it's the game in general, it's just as buggy as a beta and at this point I don't think anyone is expecting the game to ever run properly. It feels like there a small group of modders working on the game in their spare time progress is that bad. Just got to roll with it.
