Well maps are coming if not here already, there is the compass to go by also, but having a mini map is taking away from the realism of the game imho, my advice to anyone would be to hang around 1 area for a while, flip server to refresh loot and stock up, go back and forth from home base to a different town to get your bearings a bit, once you've done that venture out a little further, the map i linked in a previous comment is great to help. I think one of the main issues with a lot of players is that they just want to run from one end to the other no issues, but the thing is unless you are an actual survivalist irl, pretty much anyone from civi street is screwed when in the middle of the woods.

Why did you even buy a game thats in preview just a few days of its preview release if all you want to do is bitch and moan, if you want a game in a perfect stable state buy one at full release, the forums are truly better off without people like you, do us all a favor and go play minecraft, come back when its at full release.

Ive only used the akm and m4 but im carrying both, akm with an actual silencer and red dot, and my m4 has a makeshift supressor from a pet bottle and duct tape, i use the m4 when i enter buildings and around small closed in areas, the akm is for when im on road or through the woods n fields.

Totally agree with you.... if we dropped someone from civi street in the middle of a forrest with a map and asked them to find their way they would get so stressed trying to figure it out and even if they found a town and spotted it on the map, trying to figure out where they are going after making a b line through some woods because they were chased by zombies or someone with a gun they would soon lose track of where they are again..

If it wasnt for fallout 76 coming out soon i would invest my time to build a 30 man community and set up base camp somewhere, have runners, guards and farmers all working together.

The thing is its a post apocalyptic survival, we wouldnt have a map with our location on, the games design is to test our skills as a survivalist, were just lucky to have a website with a map to help us. If yòu are lucky you will find a compass, otherwise its on you to figure out which direction to go by using things to help in that process, which side the sea is on, if there is a railway station, check the map by clicking the blips to see which side of the tracks the rail house is so you know which way to go, also to see what certain houses or buildings look like, check signposts, look for forks in the road, many other ways which the more you play the more you will figure it out.

No need to spend time checking, just remember the name of the town you enter, get the goodies and then check, once you are established, kitted out and got some sort of weapon then sit in a building while you check the map, i use my tablet but tempted to bring the laptop down for it... know your routes and you will be good.

My first, id just started found a house near the beach within a couple of mins, was just changing shoes as i found some hiking boots, all of a sudden some dude runs into the room throwing punches at me so we got into a brawl and i put him down. My next i had geared up quite well, ak silenced, m4 crafted supressor, and he runs around the corner my gun came out but he spoke on the mic so we chatted, he needed water so i took him to the well in the town i was at, on the way some guy come running at us with an axe so unloaded the m4 and put him down, had to mince up 6 walkers to, anyway the guy i was leading to the well had blood on his hands and told me he had skinned a rabbit but then he went to the dude i shot and hacked him up for food the fucking sicko haha, anyways i took him to the well and then we parted ways, 10 mins later i saw someone running down the road so scoped him down with the ak scoped. I feel like i want to be a nice guy but im worried about taking the risk so feel like its a shoot first and loot them type game, i would love to see a nice big community running with farmland to feed all
