It is being looked into, last I heard. They're going to add some sort of detrimental effect to server hopping.
-
1. They're anti-social or don't have mics. 2. People are pretty crazy. 3. No idea. Mine's never fixed itself. 4. Not really a bug, but sometimes while going to another server you will be refilled of all your stats. Food, Water, and Blood. 5. I only take broken pieces if I know I am about to find a vehicle they fit with. Generally, probably not good to waste the space unless you use it. 6. "Look in houses" is the only real advice you can be given. It spawns in the random loot piles.

It's a known issue and it's being addressed.

Lead a player-based Army to walk from one side of Cherno to the opposite side of Elektro killing everything on the way.

Like I read on another thread... High Population Server = Everyone's too afraid to go to the Airfield, thus it's safer. Low Population Server = Everyone's ballsy about going to it, thus unsafe. Day Z is high-risk, high-reward, but the kind of person who would sit there for hours isn't willing to repeat the process because someone got to their spot first.

Correlation =/= Causation I seriously doubt that the location of the server affects loot.

I haven't been killing people lately, but I have noticed that bodies aren't sticking around but the sound of flies are. It's not just you.

Let's put this in a real-world example. Someone stole a television. They drop the stolen television and you wonder if it's okay that YOU take the stolen television because you didn't steal it, you just found it. Explain it to a police officer and see how well it goes. It's exactly the same here. -
People don't take the game so seriously sometimes
Saoul replied to izodn's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The fact that this is a game keeps me from EVER taking it seriously. I play this game to relax and enjoy myself. Some guy with a crossbow runs up and shoots me in the face... meh. It's a part of the game and bothers me none. It just means I get to enjoy myself running through buildings and regetting my stuff again. It's not hard, nor emotionally taxing. -
The Guys You Should Kill on Sight Charts

I think there's a thread for this in the Survivor Forum. I have been shot in the face by a "Sondre" myself... so there might be something to it. -
By that logic, Jono. I should be up to my eyes in guns playing in the Atlanta servers. Doesn't always work out that way. (Medical supplies are in mass amounts, oddly enough)

Day Z costs nothing to play... so there's no cheaper way than buying ARMA 2 (there's a sale on Steam, "Combined Operations" pack). Runs you like 30USD. That's as cheap as it gets.

I have never even SEEN antibiotics and I've been playing for a week or two. It does sound like a likely bug. Have you raised the issue in the Support forums?

Headhunter downs like a vampire that eats evil people... I like the idea of "redeeming" yourself. But killing X-number of bandits seems rather weak.

i have yet to actually join a good server

Use the filter system to only get games with 1.7.1.2, that's what I ended up doing. -
**WARNING, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A SHINY VAMPIRE** -Daylight Yes! You can see everything, sadly, everything can see you. Yes! You can usually find more survivors to group up with, you can also find more bandits to shoot your face off. Yes! It's easier to travel by daylight.... or is it? -Night You can't see a foot in front of your face and your flashlight illuminates about 3 feet in a very large range. That's nice. But it's like pointing a telescope at the sky. Sure you can see some of it, but OH GOD WHAT'S EATING MY FACE. Fortunately, the Zombies can't see you as easily. It makes sneaking through houses much easier and navigation pretty straight forward if you know where the moon is placed in conjunction to "North". -"Twilight" It's not quite day yet, you can still use the flashlight, but it's light enough that you can more or less see without it. Zombie vision is still toggled to "Night" and it's the prime time for travel. Stars are still out for the Moon-Reference, and even crouched running on a street offers 2 Visibility and 1 Sound. It is the easiest method of travel that I've found. All too common occurrence if you've never played the ARMA2 single-player. Running through town escaping a hoard of zeds because you decided to fire off a bullet to test the waters is a quick way to get dead. Trees are your friends. The map is quite covered in them and it's easy to lose a zombie in it, even 5. Furthermore, zombies tend to not spawn in the woods (at least I haven't seen any). A trick I commonly employ is the "Telephone Lines" run. Follow the lines north from the coast, very straight forward and easy to get to the Northern farms. DO NOT FOLLOW THE COASTLINE, that is a quick way to end up in Cherno, where if you're not prepared, you will be shot and or eaten. {Against what anyone would think, you can't kill a zombie with a hatchet or hunting knife} That's about right! It's not a commodity. Food and Water are literally the things that should get you into a town. Occasionally, you'll find a loose can of beans, but largely, you're BONED until you can get to a real city. It may be tempting to run into a small town, smashing your face (and your "Use" key) in a futile attempt to get in a house. There's a special rule you must follow... The game hates you. You know it hates you. It's a Hate-Hate relationship. You're only in it because the sex is good and wholesome when you get to it. Otherwise it's like trying to wrestle down a bear... you're going to lose. -Final note to new players: DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED AT THE "DIFFICULTY", I CAN ALMOST GUARANTEE YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED A GAME LIKE THIS BEFORE. It is very difficult, yes. But the feeling of success after surviving your first night is second to none. Also... stay away from Cherno, there's usually some guy in there with a rifle on the factory waiting to shoot you in the legs.

I had the same problem. Either I'm late or the party, or sources of fluids hate me.

As far west as I'll play is Chicago. but being in Atlanta myself, I can get away with getting 12ms on an eastern server. -

You seem to have gotten lucky. Every time I go in, my screen flashes abruptly, goes blurry and I collapse because my leg's been broken... Maybe I'm just unlucky. -
Reconnect to the server. As far as I can tell, you're stuck there because of a misloaded patch or you're missing the required patch.
-
I had the same problem. I had to backout, use the Six Updater to get the newest patch. That or search SPECIFICALLY for a server running your patch.
