  1. As each and every reply comes in on this thread it seems more and more apparent how most people are misunderstanding the bandit or see the bandit playstyle different to how I see that it should/could be played.

    People refer to a bandit by being a bland silent killer; well it is to some extent but there is so much more to it.

    Majority of people say they play as a bandit by being in a party/not in game chat/with friends and they just go and KOS. I know the function to switch to game chat is broke but unless the mind set changes its still no good. Some people slate KOS and with that, especially on console, people are led to thinking that the KOS are bandits but in reality a proper bandit would hold people up, take their gear, tie um up and potentially leave them for dead. I know its still not really a great 30 minutes of fun for the victim but without those crazy scenarios happening it doesnt make for a very gritty, post apocalyptic world. I cant think of much more thats not more unforgiving than being left unclothed, gear-less with a burlap sack to keep your ears warm whilst your surrounded by raw meat in the forest.

    I do totally agree with you. Personally I'd be the person using a working car as a trap or something. But it would be incredibly useful for picking up a friend that just got killed and getting them up to the forests to get some more loot

    Yeah deffo, leave it parked up somewhere, take out the battery or drain the fuel or some shit and then wolla, perfect ambush lol and thats probably the best reason for having one tbh, picking people up when they die.

People will hear you if you are not careful, so it should make for some interesting fights.     Remember, if it is on PC roadmap, xbox is right behind it after it gets stress tested, and the updates get approved. Then there is the approval process xbox needs, but since they are testing on pc, then moving to xbox, they will be sound updates.

    I know the mechanics of how you cant just find one and use it. Makes it much more rewarding and entertaining but I'll probably go on foot anyway most times. Likes of PUBG people make easy pickings when they come driving over fields. 

     

    And I also know that. Its the reason I checked what was in the pipeline.


  4. I spawned there a while back and there was loot.

    Played with people who have swam over and looted it too. Potentially you didnt hit the reset? Idk but there is loot on that island; its also on a YT video where a guy loots it.

    When switching between things in hands (to hands) sometimes the arms seem to stuck in an higher position when switching back to rifle, making the character point the rifle into the air so everytime you look in the scope it's pointed in the air.

     

    Opening/closing doors/gates require pinpoint accuracy..looking at the handle, making it hard to get a fluid experience. Some doors open toward the player and making the character stuck.

    Berets show hair through them, masks clip through helmet/berets/boonie.

     

    On rare occasions a mag is shown as inserted on the weapons but in inventory it shows as the weapon have no mag attached. Can not reload.

     

    Jogging down stairs sometimes goes to fast and the character "stumble" and fall a few feet. Maybe add walk? Walk drains no stamina?

     

     

    Using only large backpack with low stamina removes sprint/jump. But with tactics vest and large backpack and same stamina sprint/jump works.

     

    Helicopter crashes have no wreck, only floating smoke.

     

    Using pso-1 scope om AK-M shows 1-2 sec of grey when zooming. Takes a few seconds to load the scope visuals.

     

    I think they are all known bugs bar the issue you're having with stairs. 

    On that, Walking is on PC, right? Hoepfully they implement it here too.

    I feel kind of old  - and now the good old days are coming back for revenge.

    There isnt much content on console yet, Same as for .63 but with less actions/crafting/items etc etc I think.

    Pretty sure it's because many players have already breezily made thier way up north or where ever and are getting bored lol 

    I dont know if you get hordes on PC like on exile etc but the game at the momemt isnt really challenging; its just an open world deathmatch. We need all the disease/temperature/sickness etc to be active in game, cant wait.

    I see PC guys and girls moaning about the same stuff as what console players are; and thats from both sides of the argument. Some are asking for that more hardcore, no 2nd chances, unforgiving survival sim and others want the softcore, arcade style shooter. 

     

    Never, EVER will the majority of both sides be satisfied with the game; Only way it can be solved it for people to put up and shut up and play on servers or in groups of like minded players.

    I was just making a joke about the vehicles as they have said they are tweaking them before release and you said people would uproar so hopefully they havent dug themselves a hole lol

    Same too mate, Like I can deal with wait8ng around as no other game compares to this and I would like it to be as good as possible before final release.

    It works 100% but you got to go full auto spam on it to get it to change to full auto or vice versa lol 

    Hold the LT and spam the D pad dont spam LT and the D pad just hold LT and spam on the D PAD, Seems to work after a few presses.

    They have said vehicle's are coming so expect the uproar if they dont lol

    In all seriousness, they are pretty open about what features are in the game or they plan to release overall but as for when things are likely to hit xbox is when things go blank although putting a time frame on content drops will put the expectation in peoples minds and already,especially on console, people find it hard to grasp the meaning and definition of an early access or GP on xbox. Like you said, things can change and things can go wrong.


  10. Stashes are locked to the server you bury it on; not a player. As any player can find your stash and take it; im pretty sure. 

    After the recent update, Your stash may of been wiped. I cant confirm that but would say its a high possibility it did get wiped under the last update.

  11. I know devs/players know of the blocked scope bug but its not every weapon that it does it with so heres some more detail on it and hopefully we can all get this sorted.

     

    When going prone with the Alice Bergen or other large packs equipped it can block your scope with certain weapons. Not sure why just certain weapons/scopes but its happening.

    Open Sight Picture:

    M4A1 with ACOG 

     

    Please comment what weapons, what scope you have attached to it and if you have a blocked sight picture when prone.

    There is no defined roles with clothing.  What you're talking about was in the Mod, that was even before the PC release and it was something to do with an attempt to make a morality system with what was given in the Arma2 engine and assets.  The system could be tweaked and many bandits walked around in 'hero' clothes because they would bandage up and give blood to hostages they were shooting to corrupt the system.

    People will seek out certain gear because it's better.  More inventory spaces, better armor protection, ect.  A guy walking around in blue jeans and a tshirt is just as capable of shooting/stabbing you in the back as a guy in a ghillie suit or full Gorka gear and a white/blue armband, and there's no accounting for trolls.  That and people don't fully know the mechanics, they might pick up a Payday mask thinking that it's bullet resistant or just because 'hey that looks cool'.  Then there's people who know the mechanics and are taking full advantage of them.  A guy in a tracksuit running around with a large backpack probably knows that if he ran around looting in his ghillie suit he's gonna die of dehydration/hyperthermia, not to mention lose the gear he spent hours on while on an apple picking run.

    I was going to mention that; that gear is just acquired by whoever wants it...I.e milly and hunting gear as the better more sought after gear and it doesnt necessarily show that a player is a bandit or whoever. 

    When he said an answer from a PC guy now that makes more sense as to what he was trying to talk about as youve put more detail and a better explanation to it. The old morality systemseems so flawed and I'm really glad that the players isnt designated clothing on what the game/devs define as his playstyle.

    1 can of TAC BAC shouldn't make you puke...I havent heard of anyone else doing that or facing that issue...Are you sure you didnt overfill your stomach? 

    Even eating rae meat doesnt make you puke although it really should; Maybe once more elemental features are implemented then it will.

    Dont get me wrong. I agree. You make a story, mission for yourself in this game, but truth be told, I would really like to see a server message that states:

    "Bandits have invaded Berizino and have occupied a weapons cache, clear out the bandits for a reward" or "A sniper cache has been located in NW Airfield" or "Supply Drop incoming at Electro"

    Something every player can see, and if the reward is big enough, it turns into a full server shootout, where only the smartest get the loot. 

    Say for example a supply drop with meds, guns, scopes, ammo drops. Tons of players would flock to it. Say on a 60 player server, 20-30 go for it. Huge parties engage in a gunfight. 10 are knockout in seconds. 10 more get shot while bandaging or trying to get loot, a few snipers watching it remain. Tactically they go for it. 1 person goes for the cache and takes it as a squad comes in. The solo hears a bullet fly by their head, they run and evac, they get that SVD, with mags and a scope, with precious brain infection meds that they need because they ran out of food and had to eat the flesh of one of the dead bodies from the fight.

    That is the type of immersion OP is looking for, I believe.

    As in localised server events? Like destiny and other mmos have? 

    Random events happen and can be completed solo or grouped up(even could see random survivors there too lol other players obviously ) and complete for a loot reward and the loot off the dead NPCs etc

    Cant see it happening any time soon as it would of been implemented on PC or mentioned at least but they would be cool and fit in well if properly looked at. As the exile mod has hordes etc

    I think becuase people are trying to play with friends or are in party chat, the majority of players cant switch to game chat and talk to you even if they wanted so most times people shoot to be safe...I'm guilty of it myself but I aint dieing due to a flaw/bug in the game lol 

    Most players are just like how people are in real life; just got to go with it. They will use you for protection if you have more gear or if you can help them or escort them; they are your best buddy until they can slot one in you lol 

    Couple of new spawns Ive helped when passing through electro etc have been friendly but if they was geared no doubt would of been different as had a sniper pop shots at a 3 man group as we passed through another time. 

     

    Once all the bugs are worked out and players can communicate and also have more content usable; meaning they have more to live for, maybe will make people less inclined to engage. 

    Tbh, i dont mind alot of PVP or even KOS at times cus in reality if shit goes tits up in the real world, Zombies not included, then I'm sure many groups and factions would fight for whats left anyway.

    For me; Just my favourites and recently played don't save or show. 

    Recently played - No servers show on the list but sometimes 'A' will prompt to 'connect' once setting up the tabs.

    PUBG is alot more toxic but its just generally the mood of game forums, especially early access. 

    There have been 2 updates since release, Well, 3 if you include the latest update which got brought out, took back due to issues which they fixed and they released the update again. I couldn't tell you of a schedule but it seems like they are activey fixing and working on priority issues effecting game play and also stuff like vehicles which are supposedly in final tweaks before release. 

    The bugs you mentioned; theydo know about and are working on. The reload bug is frustrating as it can give away your position etc but there are small in game workarounds for bugged guns which some times work. If you have more details on it, I could try and help.

    There’s a difference in holding someone up, taking all of their gear, and potentially killing them, as opposed to holding someone up, and having them briefly drop their gear to try and establish trust.

    The differing factor is the mindset of said player. As we have already discussed how console players have been tinged by these kos games, that play style, even when talking about being a bandit, no doubt bleeds through to this game. 

    We should try our best to shape the game and this community to something more dynamic, as mentioned in my op. Although, it will undoubtedly test ones resolve. As we will expect to be killed more times than not.

    Dont get me wrong, I won’t hesitate to shoot if I get a whiff of hostility. That said, I’m currently fully geared up, but have no intention of killing innocent players, or robbing folks, as I don’t need anything. This is the point where that dynamic aspect can come in to really make the game interesting. Escorting Bambi’s through hostile locations, hunting kos bandits, ect. All the while keeping your eyes peeled, particularly on the Bambi.. You just never know.

    Time will certainly tell where the community takes this game. My hope is it just doesn’t turn into another GTA or PUBG mindless kill fest.

    Well, Imo, You do need bandits to have heros. If a so called hero has no bandits then hes just a fellow survivor helping out other survivors in times of need or it just means everybody is the so called hero? See what I'm saying. 

    I know there's a clear obvious difference in the the 2 different scenarios. You have chose a different approach to what I mentioned about holding people up. I said it in the perspective of being a bandit and you said from the perspective of the way you should be approaching any player; with caution until you establish their motives. 

    I wasnt arguing or disagreeing with you on my reply; I was stating how I feel there is a difference from how you class a bandit and a KOS'er as youve said yourself its down to the player and his mindset how he chooses to play. Just with the implications of what I mentioned about game chat etc players are drawn to KOS rather than talk as they are potentially in party's etc and cant switch in to voice comm.

    Just if you want your scenarios of what the game could reach then we need ALL type of players active in servers...Heros, Bandits, KOS'ers (to a degree), Noobs and active groups and clans who play solely on select servers...all more possible when private servers come out.
