Dayz Full Game "Must Have Feature"

:exclamation: - Better quality zombies overall. More variety, better movement, and a bit more horrific in terms of visual appearance and sound effects. :exclamation: - Chernarus kept as the primary setting, but enhanced. Perhaps even bigger with more enterable buildings. :exclamation: - No hand-holding features at all, or obvious catering to a mainstream audience. :exclamation: - Paper style maps that look like they could be part of the gameworld instead of the current ones which just look like part of the game's UI. Some could have varying degrees of damage, such as rips, burns, stains, etc. with the good condition ones being the most rare.

    Noob trying to find guns

Favourite weapon that's common - the Lee Enfield. They can be found in barns (which are generally fairly easy to loot) in rural parts of the map where you're less likely to encounter other players.

    Flashlights

If you were jogging, you'd hold the flashlight fairly steady in front of you... but if you were sprinting, I think you'd be surprised just how much your arms would move while holding the flashlight. Especially if being chased by zombies.

WTF is... TB interviewing Rocket for?

Well, that's not strictly true. He started with a gun and seemed to have some sort of god mode enabled given the amount of times he was hit with very little blood loss.

WTF is... TB interviewing Rocket for?

I thought it was fine *shrug* yes, TB came across as a beginner noob, but so what? The questions he asked seemed decent enough.

    Keep the zeds outside

Some should follow you in, others should circle the building outside.

    Temperature Questions

I think it's when it drops below about 35-36
  8. I wouldn't trust it yet. As far as i'm aware, it's still an issue for some people. Just keep any outfits you find in your inventory.
  9. I think it's a nice idea, but like you say, it would need to implemented carefully in a way so that everyone doesn't just go around bashing each other on the heads. In terms of realism, it makes a lot of sense. If a survivor wants to steal some loot from another survivor, trying to knock them unconscious would seem like a fairly common way of achieving this goal.

    Female zombies

    Granny zombies would be nice.

    New player skin ideas

I don't see what's wrong with keeping the default skin (which is kind of iconic of DayZ now) when players spawn, then have different outfits as findable loot within the game. I'm pretty sure they plan to add more skins as loot, so just be patient.

Where do you go once you spawn?

Chernogorsk usually to do "the round": Hospital tents - to get medical supplies Cafe in the centre of town - to look for a bigger bag and general supplies like food Fire station - for a decent weapon Supermarket - for more general supplies / equipment like binoculars Then I usually get the hell out and head north.

    Shoes

In a fantasy game you might have Boots of Sneaking, or Boots of Agility... but in a game that goes for realism, would different pairs of shoes really make that much of a difference?

    idea to stop server hopping.

I think a better solution would be: If a player spawns within a certain radius of loot (close enough to be in the same building - such as the NW barracks) that loot should vanish and not respawn for 10-15minutes UNLESS there's another player currently occupying the building at that time. Another solution is to freeze players for something like 30-60 seconds when they join a server, but make them vulnerable - so if someone spawns inside a loot hotspot like the NW barracks when other players are around, there's a high chance they'll die.

    Is Balota usually camped?

I run into people on the Balota airfield a lot. Whether they're campers or just new players who ran straight there from the shoreline, it's hard to say. As for the small military camp to the right of the airfield, I've been fortunate to loot it about 5 times now without running into a single player. Quite surprising really as I would've expected to run into at least one group of players who have set up camp there. Generally, I've found the NW airfield barracks to be much worse for campers and server hoppers. People seem to like disconnecting inside the barracks so they spawn there again next time they join a server.

    Best weapons.

Winchester 1866 and the Lee Enfield. Especially the Lee Enfield. The rare sniper rifles and assault rifles are overrated simply because of how uncommon the ammo is.
  17. Turin (DayZ)

    Remove the broken legs mechanic.

I think it's a case of making zombies more dangerous, regardless of realism. In terms of realism, I agree, it's silly. It would make more sense for the player to suffer a headwound that temporarily sends them to the ground.
  18. Turin (DayZ)

    Spawning with Weapon Idea

Nope. The game is better with no starter gun at all.
  19. Turin (DayZ)

    Don't bring back starter weapons

    Agreed, 100%

You are what is killing this game

I'm sometimes harsh to towards new players who moan about how difficult the game is. It's not because I think it's cool to be an elitist prick or anything like that. I just hate the thought of DayZ being dumbed down in any way to make it more mainstream and accessible. If anything, I think the game needs to get more hardcore. So when I see post after post of people whining about changes (like the removal of the starter pistol) I don't see new players giving feedback - I see whiners trying to ruin the game completely. Even if they don't realise that's what they're doing.

    Spawning Without A Weapon

Good to see that not everyone is negative and whiney about the change. Personally, I love it.
  22. Turin (DayZ)

    Self Administered Blood Packs

No. Blood packs are one of the biggest incentives for players to actually work together at the moment. They should stay the way they are.
  23. Turin (DayZ)

    Is it just me?

Lots of people don't like the changes. Personally, I think it's a good direction for the mod to head in. The game was far too easy before. When I died and lost all my loot, I just didn't care because I knew how quick and easy it would be to get it all back.

Start PvP Raids in DayZ! Create HQ

Again, I'm not saying PvP shouldn't be part of DayZ at all. Of course it should be a part of the experience. The tension and uncertainty between survivors who encounter each other is one of the things that makes the mod really interesting. All i'm saying is that there shouldn't be so much PvP killing going on that it just feels like an open-world deathmatch FPS game with loot. If people are just ignoring zombies, don't really care about dying because they can just start over, and just want to run around killing other players, then there's something fundamentally wrong with the mod. That isn't quite the case yet, but it will be if the devs start listening to suggestions like the one the OP is putting forward.
