I rarely listen to music while playing DayZ so I can be aware of my surroundings, but usually I'll listen to all of "The Album Leaf" albums whilst I play, or anything that might fit. Erik Satie's Gymnopedes and Gnossienes are great as well, or some of the songs from the Hungry Ghosts are good. Anything that'd fit the vast travelling and day-to-day harshness of a zombie apocalypse.

I don't think I can download it this way. i think I need the bought version of ARMA2 and I'm running the free version with ArrowHead. All you need to do is go into your Operation Arrowhead folder and find the @dayz folder in it. Then just use 7zip or WinRAR to extrac the .pbo files from the files you downloaded and drag 'n' drop em' into the addons folder located within the @dayz folder. It'll ask if you want to copy and replace the files. Don't worry, just click "OK" or "Yes" (whichever one pops up, I forget). It's not very hard, and only takes about a minute or two when you get used to it. Edit: Inquiry; You can run DayZ with Arma2 Free and Operation Arrowhead?

Click the "Download DayZ (Alpha Test)" button on the front page of the DayZ mod site. It should take you to a list of mirrors and an instructional video down below. From there, you should check the change log after each update to check what has been updated, then download said files and replace the old files with them. Good luck, hope this helps.

Sorry, I was typing that and as I posted those other posts popped up. I really don't know about the tents, but I'm guessing they were just used aesthetically in this trailer. I don't think they're implemented in the mod yet, but I'm guessing they'll function the same was old tents except with more space, if OR once they add them.

Quite the find.

I'd love to see you continue these illustrated journals, the art is superb and the stories are amusing. It'd be great to see this continue on as a series for hundreds of entries, following his adventures around post-apocalyptic Chernarus.

I'm sure the Rocket n'devs are trying to fix this. Understand it's in ALPHA, like people keep stressing. Things like this'll happen quite frequently, and we'll just have to deal with it. Plus, I find it fun to hike all the way back up north from the dangerous southern coasts of Chernarus.

Looks like we got us a casualfag here. 1- There are a good enough amount of vehicles already. A handful of vehicles are spawned around the map. 2- This is ArmA. nuffsaid. 3- Loot is already plentiful. 4- Deal with it, snipers are legit. 5- There already is a way, by shooting their legs or waiting for them to go unconcious. 6- This is supposed to be somewhat realistic, if I shot a man in real life I wouldn't get hungry quicker or become more prone to sickness. God's not going to curse me for murdering someone. And doing this would add a deterrent to one of the main gameplay features, PvP (which should be debated over at a minimum here.) 7- Yes, this is quite annoying for your first time playing but once you succeed you'll gain much needed experience to play through this gruesome mod once you unite with your friend finally. If you're smart though, you can respawn until you both spawn in the same town or a town near each other. The mod is harsh for a reason. If you can't deal with the trials of day-to-day life of a zombie apocalypse and find it quite un-amusing, that's fine. But please don't make threads like these.. they give me cancer..

I think they were just used in the making of the trailer and to my knowledge are not even a part of the mod right now. Of course though, Rocket may add them in later. But currently the only tents I know you can obtain are the old camping tents.

What are you talkin' bout'?

Since the recent scrapping of humanity, and the recent addition of different variants of clothing I'm curious to see if anyone has actually found a set of clothing different to the default survivor skin.

Vehicles look like the normal driveable vehicles you find in ArmA2 except they're usually missing some wheels. The difference from wrecks and a working vehicle will be quite noticeable once you find one. Not too many cars spawn though, maybe about five-ten per server I'm guessing. I don't really have many suggestions on where to find them, but you can usually they find them just about anywhere around a city. Once some of our group members found a motorcycle out in a field not too far from a side road, so I'm guessing vehicles also spawn near small landmarks possibly (?). If you really wanna get a vehicle though, find a group with one and get with them.
