First episode in a two-part series about the adventures of me on a bike. And believe it or not it's somewhat successful towards the end. Enjoy!

As an avid bike rider in DayZ, I fully support this. especially more on the coast, so it's easier for people to travel. I used to hate Kamenka spawns until I found out there's a bike spawn nearby. I actually have taken a bike on the coast all the way up to NWA and back. I love bikes and they are a great way of transportation. Would love to see more.

Make more than one profile (Hear me out)

I agree that if DayZ moved to structure of one character per server it would be for the better. It would completely eliminate server hopping, as if you went on a different server it would be a different character. The only problem with this is that if something goes wrong with the server you have a main character on, that main character is pretty much obsolete. Say if the server changed it's timezone so that at the time you normally play it was pitch black and you hadn't gotten nvg's on this character yet. To counter this I think there should be a better way to communicate with the server admins. Perhaps an in game chat channel that is something like PMing but can only be done to an admin. A lot of server's don't support easy ways to communicate with the admins (having the MOTD include an email or TS channel) so it can make it hard for you to be a part of the server. I think that if Rocket follows through with increasing the player cap to 200+, a one character per server thing would be great, it would get you more connected with the server and its community. In general I would love to see DayZ move to a more classic MMO style like WoW, were you get involved with one server and one server only, you can join a "guild" of people on that server, do NWA raids with that "guild" and become a bigger part of the community. This would make the game much more interesting, and you the player would actually feel like your CHARACTER and not your GEAR mattered. Of course perma-death would stay the same, you would lose all your gear and stats like normal, This is just my opinion. -
Well considering squads are in ArmA by default I'd say it's pretty realistic.

eh with something that could have that good loot it would have to be a 50% chance AT BEST for a server to have one spawned. Other wise the amount of high end and fully geared people would rise a ton, making more people that get bored with the best stuff and decide to go murder everyone in Cherno.

No, I don't think that this is a very good idea. It would easily be abused to simply spawn in on a friend after one of you got killed so that you just be instantly back at your stuff and kill the other person. Also you could just choose to spawn in on a random player, including the one that killed you, and proceed to steal something from their backpack to kill them with. This spawn system would be too complicated and easily abused.

Well it would be hard to trick people into a group and then kill them, as in order to establish a convincing conversation with them you would have to be within range for direct chat, and thus you would already easily have had the chance to have killed them. As for a safety reason to have no "friendly fire", it would be pointless because you could always see where your squad members are, so you wouldn't mistake them for someone else. That's the whole point of a system like this.

The Regulators are looking for good people
slinkylegend replied to *Regulator* Oldtribe's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wow I'm pretty sure I saw you guys all join a server at once. I was in the player selection lobby and saw 4 people with [Regulator] in front of their name. Later that night my camp got raided and I lost some decent gear though :/ -
Fix for the 1.7.2.4 artifacting.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! This worked perfectly! this is a horrible glitch cuz for me it would happen near anything military, which means no airfields, no stary, no berezino. I have literally been looking for only crashed helicopters for the past few days, and I haven't had any luck. you are my hero. -
Hey, I play a lot of DayZ with friends, and often times it can be a struggle to coordinate and play together. I've always imagined a system like squads in regular Arma, but more refined to DayZ so that random people can't join a squad and see where everyone else is. What I propose is a "party" type system. A system where by default the group system implemented now(everybody is in their own group) is active, but you can invite other players to join a squad with you. The Invite option would be available through the player list by pressing "P" and selecting the desired player. There are several options for how the targeted player would accept the invite. One being that a notification pops up with an accept and decline option (both of which mapped to a key) similar to TF2's notification system. The other being that the targeted player would have to go into their player list and an accept option would be available in some form or another(this option might prevent newer and less learned players from accepting invites from strangers). Once in a squad with other people, it would display where they are and where they are on the map like normal Arma. The group channel would also apply. As far as the regular group system goes, that could stay the same, but when you are in a group with people, you would all be moved out of those 1 player groups you start in and moved to a multiple person group(MPG's). These extra MPG's would be on standby until a group is made, at which point the first available MPG would be used to house those players. These groups would of course be private, and you couldn't choose to join one. On 50 player servers, 25 MPG's would be necessary on standby as a group would have a minimum of 2 players, thus needing to be half the total player count. Each MPG could hold up to the maximum amount of players on the server and anywhere in between. A system like this would make it much easier and much more enjoyable to play with friends. It would increase tactical squad gameplay and make it easier for newer players to get acquainted with how Arma works. (As a side note this would also decrease the amount of "DayZ noobs" that don't understand teamwork and squad play, thus making Arma less filled with people that don't know what they are doing and can ruin a good game of Insurgency and the like).
