If you heard the shot before fading to black he was close, close enough to one shot kill you, at 300-400m one shot wont kill you even though it should with some guns (which I think is silly), so he could of been 50-200m away to get a one shot kill. I think only the ballistic helmet stops bullet damage atm, gorka helmet is just a fancy accessory right now, thats last time I tried/heard anyhow.

They need to make grass render at the same distance as player render to achieve genuine stealth, this may impact on performance which is why I bet grass doesnt render at the same distance as a player does (around 1100m) I think it should do and they need to implement it so it does this and not impact on performance.

Dont you mean stuff that was previously part of a promise once the engine was finished?,... overgrowth and vines etc.. I saw 2yrs ago and still never got added it was free back then, it was to be added in back then, same goes for aircraft etc.., now if this DLC has to be paid for these assets are not free,... as its part of the marketing now for the DLC map thats looks like it will be a paywall. Nobody is forcing us to buy it that is correct, also nobody will force us from not obtaining it either, Its a damn shame to see this divide be created in DayZ slapping "premium" on things now, which is known to create a segregation of wallet sizes among people, thus favor those with monetary ability greater than the other next to them, I say give the PC players the DLC for free that already own it, same with other platforms and dont adjust the purchase price for the base game across all platforms but include the DLC in that as well, That will make the price fair and not overly a ripoff which its been widely talked about. If a man has no principles or morals then what exactly makes him a man?, but if only a drone ant doing what its told.

People talk of paying dirt cheap early access price,.. Im confused, I paid $56 back in 2014 sure its AUD but that money could of fueled my car for almost a week and a half, or contributed to my weekly food bill for my family, etc... some are not as first world as others think even tho some in financial limbo live in a "well off country" so to speak, are in fact not so "well off" than others assume, so paying for a DLC isnt very welcoming at all,.. I know I and others do not buy DLC for other games we own,.. heck to be honest I have only bought 5 games all together and not bought any DLC of them that they snuck in afterwards, and I now no longer play those games, DayZ is on a list of 3 games left I play, I only continue to play DayZ from a result of some friends and the actual game loyalty I keep for it, I enjoy the realistic aspect but with the lack of a helpful modding community (that I have experienced) and lack of genuine players its looking dark, well speckely dark in the case of DayZ night effects, I hold a fear that the game will no longer be viable for me and others alike to continue playing amidst influencers talking it up to catch newbies like a fish trap that used to be in the game but now is not, My 3000+ hrs in the game havnt all been spent stupidly looking for PVP servers or to KOS etc,.. they were mostly spent helping others and bonding allies that were also into the immersion aspect of the games essence, Im not one bit embarrassed, Id do it all again the same way if I had the chance, no hesitation. Other people will read this and think,.. "he only has 5 games total and I have 100+" I say good for you, you either have a awesome job that pays you well and allows time to play games or you have "well off" parents that contributed to that amount, that latter Id would be embarrassed of if it were me, while some people wouldnt even comprehend how I reached that notion, and thus sums up the type of person they are in real life. All I can say is I hope they dont kill DayZ for me, I bet others think the same.

😒 If this has to be bought Im afraid that it may well be the straw that breaks the camels back for most of us after we get told there will be no paywall etc.. etc.. and then reneging and rewording everything to justify having to pay for it.

Someone list how we can run our own Survivor Gamez server ourselves,... at least give us the chance to host our own SG servers.

Im not impressed by this silly follow through of this change, I did put forward a submission of a better solution to make players spawn in the vicinity of nearest town or city,... but more blockers went up... with more silly excuses... Ive not played a public server since this, Im sure others will soon realize the uselessness of playing public servers soon enough also. Devs just make the change I suggested, its better than what is current.

Try setting the MOTD delay to 30 and fill in the other line2, line 3 lines with messages, as for the messages.xml im not sure they are working atm. You can run bec as you would the server just upload it to the game root dir and setup accordingly in config, and add bec to your start up line in .bat file or similar.

I see you like some others that want to stick to the dev butts while they seat dont read the forums enough cos if you did you would see there is mostly constructive criticism in regards to their efforts, yes there is a few shite heads having a full blown whinge who are on their monthlys but they get ignored, as for how many devs working on DayZ,.. its around 80 last I heard not 20. Bent.toe has good points to reference btw, Remember this game is at an age where if it were a child would be in early years of primary school, when we started playing this game it wasnt long been out my eldest was just starting secondary school, now has a job making good money and hardly plays the game anymore, we used to play tonnes together on this game, but time changes things, such is life. I, like most here want the game to be jam packed with features new and old on regular basis (at least bi monthly) to keep up the "love" at the level it was when we started playing, when excitement filled promises were made to raise the hopes of us all that the completion is near, if this doesnt happen we loose "faith" and "trust" in the words spoken with comparison to action done/not done to realize for the most the game is a partially filled shell founded on empty promises that devour the hopes and dreams of many a fresh spawn and raise more disappointment in a seasoned player. The Expansion Mod that is coming soon... that should of been the mass content update for the game, given not all of it is essential survival aspects needed for the game, but features like helis, power grid of sorts, weapon additions etc.. I Struggle to even use mods as Im not a big fan of them (mainly because we cant run them serverside only and all clients need the same mod to join bs), but it shows it can be done and as reference the amount of time it was done in is what im mainly talking about, and thats under 10 guys working on that. We just want content introduced on a regular basis to show us that it really is growing towards an expected state for the age its at.

Surprisingly BEC has whitelister that works and its easy to use, local on server setup and free, even though support is faded the last latest version 1.608 works fine.

I want to have a joint hive(database) but its unclear how to do this properly with out using the same storage files as each server, which is where I have gotten with it, same character 2 different servers but with same persistence files...For it to be a true joint hive each server has its own storage(persistence) files and having the same character on each server. Pros.. same character on each server, cons... may end up on the coast for server hopping.
