This whole "bandits have no punishment and it's too hard to be a hero" thing is just silly. DayZ: SA is going for authenticity after all. Being a hero has no reward, that's what makes you a hero.

Kind of disappointing, not a lot of new information and by the way it sounds I would guess an October release at least.

It doesn't indicate it. In fact, it indicates that it may take longer than that to have a public release. I don't know why people get these dates in their heads and then rage when they finally found out they were wrong.

I played WarZ for a while. The first few days were actually kind of fun, but the money-grabbing was so obvious. Stuff like preventing ammo from spawning at all and simultaneously raising ammo prices in the "Marketplace", using fake screenshots of features not even in the game etc. The only reason I kept playing it was because I found a great clan and made commitments to our WarZ division. Eventually I got completely fed up and transferred to another division. I'd rather claw my eyes out than ever play that game again.

How quickly we forget. Am I the only one around here who remembers how cheats almost killed the mod? And the mod, for the most part, was in a functional and playable state. In fact, I'm surprised so few people have mentioned the "Client Bubble". This is so great, a huge blow to script-kiddies who were planning to use ESP or Aimbot. I don't care how long it takes, I want those kiddies to rage so hard they foam at the mouth. Well worth an extra month or two if you ask me. -

For now, the plan is that it will be available to everyone immediately which is a big part of why it's been pushed back again. -

They're called riot shields for a reason. They are meant for crowd control, protecting from rocks, bottles, etc. They are not meant for firefights, and anyone trying to survive on an island full of "fast zombies" while lugging around a riot shield has to be at least a little retarded. -

Practically everyone has one of these now thanks to duping. It's the reason I stopped playing.

You need to use stealth, infected see with line of sight and will hear you depending on your stance. You can crouch by pressing C and go prone by pressing Z. Double-tap shift to toggle walk/run. Different surfaces will cause different noise levels, and during the day you will need to go prone most of the time when in a zombie-infested area. You can also lose zombies but you should learn that once you've got the stealth thing down. -
Question about hackers and servers

It's random, however I've noticed that European servers tend to have less blatant hacking. What I mean by that is less nukes, artillery strikes, thunderdome etc. There are still plenty of hacked in weapons like thermal AS50 and people being able to see every player and vehicle on a map though, and you'll still get hit by the occasional "teleport everyone to same place and lolz at dem!" kid. Battleye was never meant for this scale, won't matter what server you're on, there is always the risk of a hacker. -

Hacking or picking up hacked weapons as well. Their main server is DE 275, their camps are around NWA.

There is a glitch that spawns backpacks on already existing loot piles. You have to move everything out of the loot pile underneath it in order to interact with the backpack. You can use any of the backpacks with a ghillie suit on.

Killing survivors will lower your humanity, once your humanity is below a certain point you will get a bandit mask. The outfit is gone, it's just the mask now, and be aware it will sometimes eat your backpack when you switch. There is also a hero skin for high humanity now.

Excellent work! The music is a bit cliche but admittedly works very well. All in all, great job, loved it.
