A suggestion that has come up many times but regardless is an interesting one to consider, although how feasible it is in terms of coding etc I'm not sure, is what if instead of fast zombies which as "few and far between" we had slow zombies but sizeable hordes of them, at least in certain places. Towns and cities like Electro and Cherno seem rather devoid of life (no joke intended) when we can assume that these were high traffic areas, places like Devils Castle and Rog could be set up as though valiant but fruitless last stands took place, so when you arrive a horde has followed a group of would be survivors to the castle. Imagine a jog through a forrest or field on the way to the NWAF only for there to be a sizeable horde of slow moving but plentiful zombies shambling around. Despite having guns, the ammo required to kill these hordes would be unsustainable and the sheer overwhelming numbers and firearms propensity to attract even more (perhaps larger hordes) would make teamwork and setting up defensive positions all the more important. On a side note, I know that the enemy NPC are "Infected" rather than zombies so this may not be worth much, but as Max Brooks explains in the zombie survival guide, zombies cannot run, their decomposing muscle tissues and highly damaged nervous systems allow only for crawling or shambling, the true horror of a horde is their numbers, and the fact that they don't need rest you could run for days and they'd still just keep shambling toward where you last were. Just my take on the debate.

Hopefully I'm not the only one who feels the recent update has hindered their enjoyment of this otherwise wonderful mod. The update has provided us with a lot of good things undoubtably, server stabilisation, zombie AI improvements, los and attack issues fixed etc but some changes have made the game for me and others not nearly as enjoyable. I was killed about 2 hours ago by a zombie roaming through a wall at the NE airfeild, my leg was broken and I was dead, fine I can deal with that just have to start over. 30 minutes ago I spawned with only a torch, a bandage and painkillers, that's fine i thought I'll just go find myself some food etc. After 20 minutes fo crawling through a small hamlet populated for some reason by 45 zombies (possibly more I only crawled through the eastern section of the village.) I was spotted by one from at least 30ft away, whilst prone in tall grass. The first hit made me bleed so I crouch ran all the way to Solnichy, sadly the zombie was faster than me so kept hitting me, I made it into a building tried to hide whilst a patched myself up but the zombie knew where I was and promptly killed me. Start again only to be shot by a bandit next to the lighthouse on the shore between Electro and Cherno. I have no problem with most of the new update, but perhaps a revision of the items, a makarov with 1 magazine, possibly a morphine auto injector, a bottle of water, would all be welcome additions. Some of you no doubt will moan, call me a noob etc but these vastly reduced supplies would still give the game an atmosphere of desperation as well as the ability to defend yourself whilst making sure you don't have enough supplies to last very long if you decide to be gun-ho about the zombies over there. A revision would help sustain the casual player base as well as keep the hardcore players happy. Just my thoughts.
