Well it's a fact: - Zombies can run trough buildings - Zombies can run on steep hills where players cant. In version 1.7.3 all zombies will probably be equipped with L85A2's. -

It's even more worse: they can run up hills where players cant lol I was hoping they would actually make them stop running so a lot more shooting and fun would be going on but hell no. The only reason these days you carry a gun is because of PvP. No one will shoot a zombie anymore since that means instant death (you will kill some of them but it will trigger another 45689040569456908 zombies which cant be outrun). -

I fully agree with the TS. In normal life every single human that was left would team up to have a better chance of survive. This game is like the following: 1) Start at beach, rush supermarkets and barns for stuff, If you die, no problem you had nothing to lose. Start over rushing until you find decent gear. 2) Head to the north and loot militairy sites 3) Bored as hell, you simply start shooting other players because there is no other goal left. The real goal in this game is: survive as long as can. This is plain easy. Get yourself a hatchet, matches, knife and a water bottle and set up a camp in the middle of nowhere near a lake and you are done, end of the game, you win. Simply drink now and then, eat now and then (by hunting) and nothing to worry about. You will reach 39485739485739458 days survived. The problem is: - There is no reward for players to help eachother - The game gets boring once you are loaded with heavy hardware - Zombies are to simple to avoid - There is no score system - Bandits cant be recognized When i have heavy gear found at a heli crash site i will just shoot anyone instant if i do not know him. How should i know he is friendly? The minute i ask "Friendly?" he could answer my question with a headshot so why would i take the risk loosing everything? I understand the TS. This game is about survival but atm this game is just PvP with some zombies around now and then. The zombies dont matter at all. I only crawl, hide and avoid certain places because i know there are other players and they all will try to kill me. There is no reason for me to crawl etc. because of zombies -> they are simply to dumb and i won't find them in the deep forest anyways.

Good you mention it. Hosting a server requires some attention. If people think they can host a server by just slamming the START button and connecting the server to a 100mbit uplink they are wrong. It's just a matter of time when people will find out which servers are really top of the bill (superb settings) and which ones are not (dumb mods/admins/no fun gameplay). If people like to play on night-time only server it should be their choice. If people like to play on an NON-PVP server they would be able to pick them out. If you like to switch to a server where all the zombies are clowns with large hammers and red noses: go ahead and see yourself if people like it. If your server will run 2/50 all day than perhaps you are wasting time and money since no one wants to play on your server. Serveradmins should be able to modify the gamesettings because it's just a matter of time for them to find out the perfect balance between zombies , PVP, fun addons, anticheat software and other stuff that would spice up the game. If your settings fuck up the gameplay, then no one will simply play on your sever. With this central hyve/db system in place, no server admin is able to adjust settings to spice up the game since that would be cheating. You give away a good chance to admins to fine-tune the game and mods to code extra fun addons.

But Suspenselol, why do we want that server persistence? If you always play on the same server, why would you need a central database? Most people always play on the same server due to vehicles and tents, so why do we need to ability to have our characters the same on all servers? If they would let my server have it's own database, i would no longer be required to accept the strict rules on hosting a DayZ server and i would be able to set up servers with each different settings (e.g. PvP on/off) and all players have the ability to choose what they like to play! Also, server hopping is completely gone!

The DayZ mods shoud get rid of the Central database/Hyve since it creates -FAR MORE- disadvantages compared to advantages. Especially for serverowners and modders. Will this ever change in the future? If not, i don't think the game will ever excel as it could be.

Most of them can be found in Supermarkets and some in the High value residential looting places: The supermarkets can be found on this map: http://dayzdb.com/map

Same at NL 13, no vehicles.

Any admin/developer here that can confirm this? Update: tried another 5 spawn locations: nothing.

Hi, We have a new server and i already searched with a few mates for hours on this server to find any vehicles but sadly we couldn't find anything on the known spots: http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Vehicles Is this normal behaviour? I have to mention we started the server yesterday evening for the first time when there was database maintenance and ddos attacks. Regards, Joris
