Hackers make game unplayable for most.
Blizzaze replied to foozy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, hackers pretty much ruined this for me too. Nowadays every server I join it's either someone flying a chopper into you or someone teleporting you somewhere and shooting you. -
On the 8th of Juli (the day I post this) a DayZ streamer named "Dengpeng" streamed his group playing on the server LU143. They suspected a couple players to streamsnipe, including me and my friend. We we're playing on the server all day and earlier after the group of Dengpeng first joined the server my friend died without any cause in the middle of nowhere, either caused by the "kill" command of the admin or by a bug (we thought it was a bug then). It happend again an hour later, and we still believed in a bug. But then, around 3-4 in the morning, the bus that the streamers group found earlier was attack near Prigorodky, causing it to break down. A big amount of players near Chernogorsk, including me and my friend headed towards the bus to capture it and kill the streamers. As they we're still trying to find a tire and repair their bus, the group got swarmed by those players and we could hear a lot of fireing nearby. Then, the admin of the server started slaying everyone on the server repeatedly with the kill command except for the streamers group, allowing them to repair the bus and escape without any harm. We then figured the earlier "bugs" were actually the admin killing us to keep us away from the streamer. By this, me and my friend lost several rounds of loot we had acquired earlier. I hope this gets sorted out quickly, as the admins "slaying rampage" killed probably around 25 innocent players on the server, thus ruining their efford for the day.

DMR is more common than M24?
Blizzaze replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The M24 zeroes up to 800 meters. I never needed to use anything above that anyways. First reasonable person in this thread. +1 -
DMR is more common than M24?
Blizzaze replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
DMR has no proper zeroing, using mildots to zero is pretty inaccurate. I prefer the M24 all the way - Why would you even need a semi automatic sniper rifle when the M24 is oneshot-kill to the head. Not to mention the M24 is just a classic and badass gun. Btw, you can turn DMR mags into M24 mags. So the "DMR ammo is more common" arguement is pointless. -
Seriously? You run up to an unarmed noob with overwatch in your back and then you accuse him of not playing fair and tell him to grow a pair? Please.

Rocket's overall plan.
Blizzaze replied to FrankDaTank1218 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I like how you downgrade our criticism by quoting it incorrectly and adding a childish misspelling behaviour to it. In combination with the heavy emphasis on how you are the godsent of Arma players that has sucked up the games knowledge with his mothers milk that makes you sound kind of childish yourself. You also seem to miss the arguement here: It's an alpha. That means the game has the right to be bad, because it's still being developed. There is nothing more to this. You can't take a half finished car from a factory and then complain that it doesn't have wheels. -
beginners guide to hunting (players)
Blizzaze replied to thrasher (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nice guide on how to ruin the experience for other players by playing the most coward and dickish playstyle ever. Why not add this paragraph? - Whenever you either get shot at/hurt, aggro'd by zombies or miss a shot, log out and back in. Also, when people see you and hide somewhere, server hop behind them. -
Rocket's overall plan.
Blizzaze replied to FrankDaTank1218 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Maybe you should stick to mainstream games where the plan is to milk the playerbase for the biggest possible amount of their money. -
The amount of hypocrisy in this part is off my charts. Either that, or you're a mediocre troll.
-
The point is that noone in a real zombie apocalypse would lay on a hill near a hospital and just snipe unarmed people that seek medical gear in that hospital. Of course people would kill and betray others for their stuff and survival, but not for the hell of just killing someone for fun. Unless they're some psychopath, which 75% of the DayZ playerbase seems to be.

We have unlimited ammunition. So why not shoot some noob and make him butthurtly butthurt so he goes on this forum and whines about it, just like you.

*IF* this is an Alpha then lets act like it
Blizzaze replied to Redshift's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That's because Rocket rather focuses on fixing bugs while creating double the amount of new bugs and then calling it a new version. Balance issues will probably only be addressed when the game reaches beta status. -
The AK-74 is not oneshot-kill if you hit the body. On topic, zombies are still easy as always, unless you need to use an axe due to their glitchiness. Other than that, just run into a building, let them lineup and headshot them.

What I think is really making people angry at this game.
Blizzaze replied to JinxX's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I was not comparing those games to DayZ, just using the analogy to express what loosing your loot to something as stupid as a glitch feels to me. Of course this game isn't about loot, but it's still not deniable that it's sometimes just frustrating to loose it. If I die during an intense firefight... great, that was a fun and worthy experience. However, when I glitch into a tree and die, it's not and it feels stale and annoying. -

Blizzaze replied to JinxX's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Fun is always the prime goal I have when playing games. But seeing achievements of yours getting destroyed by something this silly is still annoying. It's the same feeling as when you play Fallout or Skyrim for a few weeks and then the savefile gets corrupted. -

Blizzaze replied to JinxX's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's not making me mad in a sense where I rage at it, it's more annoying. Cool, I just spend another 2 hours on getting decent stuff and I randomly die to a glitch or some douchbag that shoots on sight. When it happens 10 times in a row, it gets kind of annoying. -
I shoot people on sight so they get mad and create threads like this and ultimately become one of us. In a bit even the very few people that are still friendly will turn, too, and this mod will be ruined forever.

Still getting hit once by zombies and gaining a broken bone.
Blizzaze replied to Genki Dama's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's still a dumb mechanic to start with. Why would a zombie hit you once and break your bones? It should only happen when zombies repeadetly hit you or you fall down somewhere. -
Zombies are back in charge - good job
Blizzaze replied to grrinc's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
And by "in charge" you mean that retardedly insane sight radius that makes the zeds swarm you one second after you respawned without even having moved once, right? -
First off, I'm playing DayZ since one month now and I've had my fair share of equip, PvP, PvE, vehicles and all that good stuff. I know pretty much every loot spawn and the usual hotspots. At this point I feel like the gameplay has reached a certain point of stagnation for me. When I respawn at the right position and with a bit of luck I'm able to fully equip with a good primary, a secondary, hunting gear and generic loot in less than 30 minutes. With my oldest survivor ever I even deliberately ran into Cherno to die to another player since I had nothing else to do than camping the airfield or stary. I had everything except NVG. Now don't misunderstand this. The game is still amazing, especially in terms of interaction with other players. At this point, the game simply misses some motivating endgame content to keep fully geared players from getting bored and sniping noobs along the coast. This is where the title comes into play. I've played Minecraft since the early alpha version and witnessed every new feature Notch has introduced since then, until the final release. The game was great until a certain point where piling up blocks to make a huge castle, hunting monsters for loot and mining ores for items just wasn't fun anymore. Simply put, it got old. Notch tried to counteract this by putting more endgame content into the game. The Nether, Endermen and the end, villages, strongholds and other stuff you probably know. While all this was fun to explore for a few hours, it didn't change the core of the game: Mining and piling up blocks to get items and build stuff. And that had gotten old for me already. Due to that I never really returned to Minecraft after checking out a major update. Now I'm witnessing another game in alpha stage with a lack of endgame content. What I want to say is that Rocket should take the history of Minecraft as an example on how to not put endgame into his mod. For example he could just put some extremly rare weapons into the game and declare them endgame content. But that wouldn't remove the real problem and rather postpone it until the player finds that weapon. A good endgame update for example would be a place on the map designed for group gameplay. Somehow similar to dungeons. I know "tis isn't WoW!!!!1111" and I don't think the conception of dungeons would fit into his game, just take the general idea of it as an example on how such a group content could look like. Obviously it would not create more endgame for fully equipped clans and groups, but maybe lone wolfs that need to group up for it. I think player interaction is the biggest endgame plus this game has. In my opinion the best way to enhance this is through metagame rather than pure feature addition (like more weapons or zombie types or whatever). Incase you don't get what I mean with metagame: When people go to the airfield to fight other players there because they know it's a highly frequented pace, that's metagame. A feature not directly in the game as an entity, but still recognized by the players as a part of the game so to say. Look at Starcraft II. Blizzard hasn't put a single content update up since the release and to be honest, the gameplay is really dull. Collect money, build units, fight the enemy. That's it and yet it's the most played game besides LoL in competetive gaming. This is because players create, change and shift the metagame constantly. That being said, thanks for the read and maybe even Rocket reads this. Who knows.

Yesterday I had a zed bring me down from 12k to 6k with one hit, breaking my bone and knocking me out instantly.

DayZ Maintenance ~ Should be functional again
Blizzaze replied to Vipeax's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I haven't played at all yesterday when the DDOS happened and still ended up in the debug plains this morning. If I have to run all the way down there again it would be kind of annoying. -
Yesterday and today I ran back to the map from the debug plains. I ran straight south-east and ended up in Zelenogorsk. You need 2 drinks and 2 food items to survive the run though and it takes around 1 and a half hour to get back.
