My bandit code or rules of engagement
Blizzaze replied to sp2468's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My general "kill or let live" rules are: 1.) If someone shoots at me, I'm shooting back. Even if that person runs away and tries to escape the firefight, I'm hunting him down and killing him. 2.) I don't shoot unarmed persons if they go their way or communicate and show good intentions. If someone unarmed follows me without saying a word, chances are he might hide a weapon in his backpack or a hatchet in his toolbelt to wipe out any second. Too much of a threat to be alive. 3.) If I see other players shooting new players without gear, I'm coming for them. 4.) Whether I shoot players upon sight depends on where I am and what I have. During a city raid with few items I usually try to team up with someone. However, when I raid an airfield or towns like Stary, I will shoot anyone upon sight. 5.) If I find a target that isn't likely to notice me anytime soon, I'm stalking him and then decide whether to kill him or not, depending on his gear, his destination and his playstyle. Generally I'm not a bandit that kills players for the sake of it. My main goal is survival and getting gear, not killcount. -
MP5 for close quarter zombie engagement since it has a higher rate of fire and lower volume. Lee Enfield for high power long range engangement, but it makes a lot of noise. I'd go with Mp5.

I've found one between Kozlovka and the Green Mountain. I don't know the exact spot anymore, maybe someone can help out.

Lucker' date=' I dream every night about that gun [/quote'] Well, I just lost it to a guy near cherno that shot me with a shitty enfield and afterwards died to the horde of zombies attracted by his shots. When I got back the body was despawned... -
Finding Nemo - Looking for someone?
Blizzaze replied to jordnz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Today I met a guy on EU25. Both of us just spawned and met in Elektro. We went into the firestation and you said you had to go work or something. You gave me your skype name, which was "envyoshots", but I couldn't find anyone with that name on skype. If you read this, contact me on here. -
My first experience of DayZ
Blizzaze replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
3 Days without finding a gun? You're kidding me, right? Yesterday I respawned and in 30 minutes I had found a M1911, an AKM with 5 mags and a Revolver which I didn't pick up plus around 5 hatchets. Seriously, it takes 5 minutes to inform yourself about the game and figure out some decent loot spawns. Instead of making this whine thread, look at a DayZ map and get some loot, problem solved. -
Every time I don't shoot, I regret it.

Yesterday I played with someone who just got DayZ. We encountered another player near Prigo and tried to communicate with him, but he didn't seem to know how to chat or use a mic. So he just stared at us and the dude I played with was like: Ok, let's shoot him. We did, but afterwards I felt kinda bad for ruining the experience of a new player that had just spawned. -

People...WTF is wrong with you?
Blizzaze replied to lukasforeals's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I know exatcly what you are talking about. Yesterday I tried to loot the church in Cherno after spawning nearby. I noticed the doors were closed and dead zombies were infront of it, plus I recently heard shots from the area. So in direct chat I announced something along the lines of: "I'm about to enter the church. I'm a friendly and just spawned, have no weapon." So I proceed to open the door and get in, just to see 2 dudes sitting there before they unload like 5 rounds each into me from their makarovs. I really don't get why people do that kind of stuff, especially when they're dumb like that and spray their entire clip into a single person that has no weapon whatsoever. I hope they enjoyed their flashlight though, because that was the only thing I carried at the time. -
What is your logic, Bandits/PKers in general?
Blizzaze replied to avalontreman's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Because of my paranoia. If I see someone walking around nearby chances are if I ingnore him he might just come around and shoot me in the back. Then again cooperating with other players instead has killed me 75% of the time. Also, a lot of it is reflex. When I see someone come around a corner infront of me, pointing a gun in my direction I'm not going to ponder about it, I'm just going to shoot his face off, because he could be doing the same thing in a second. -
I just had the most epic pursuit in my entire DayZ career. It was a regular day for me - After bleeding to death after zomb attacks twice in a row I respawn just outside of Cherno in close proximity to the big unfinished building/ruin. Pitch black night, I decide to take my usual route all the way through cherno and check the firestation, the supermarket and the church. Heading towards the big international hotel, I crossed that wide open field with a few containers scattered around that is located a bit in front of aforementioned hotel. Using my flashlight sparingly, I spot zombs and avoid them as best as I can. Suddenly, the sound of bullets flying past me. I quickly figured someone saw my flashlight and obviously wasn't too friendly. A few more rounds fly by and one hits me, causing me to bleed. Now, there's me out in the open and without any weapon I couldn't return fire, so I quickly crawled to a nearby wall and used it as a cover while stopping the bleeding with my only bandage kit. By that time I thought the shooter could only be on top of the large ruin that I spawned nearby. Watching it, I noticed a silhouette on the roof carrying something that looked like an Enfield. The guy isn't too good of a shot, but surely he's smart. Still expecting me on the open field, he threw a pair of flares. However, I was lucky enough to find a hole in the wall and crawl through. I quickly headed towards the ruin and got into it. Going inside the room with the burning barrel, there's a corpse on the floor. It wasn't him, since it carried no primary, but only an empty makarov. I proceeded to search the ruin for him but he was gone already, so I headed towards the firestation again. Being ~250 meters infront of it, I noticed the dim red light of a flare and someone with an Enfield in the tower. He seemed to loot the tower, so I headed into the garage of the firestation, desperately hoping for a weapon or at least some Makarov ammunition. But nothing. Suddenly, steps from the tower. Just as I crawl into the corner, the dude comes out of the tower and heads out of the main gate. I think to myself, "Why not try to watch where he goes from the tower now?", so I head up myself. What I find is glorious: 5 Makarov mags, the guy must have dropped them there in exchange for another secondary. Now with a huge confident boost, I throw a freshly found flare myself. Just as I see his silhouette turning around one of the corners of the firestation, he looks up into the tower and sees me. I quickly duck into the staircase. After a short wait I take another look - the other bandit is nowhere to see. I wait another 5 minutes, but not even the smallest step. Since the firestation was empty now and I still didn't have a primary, I figured I'd head into the supermarket. Now, as soon as I spotted the supermarket I noticed around 3 or 4 flares inside. Obviously, the other dude was still around. But since the flares were already burned and only glowing faintly I took the risk and went into the building. Being less than 10 seconds inside, I see him through one of the windows, crawling across the street. By that time I was out for blood. He seemed to still search for me, looking down the street frantically, so I snuck out of the front door and lined up behind. Still being around 50 meters behind, only with a Makarov, I needed to get closer. I head towards him, 40 m, 30m, 25m and suddenly he turns around and looks right into my face. Having my iron sights on his head the whole time, he isn't even able to fire a single shot - one Makarov round to his head is enough to silence him forever. The guy must either have been incredibly lucky or just alive since a few days. He had what I couldn't find the whole day - two cans of beans and a filled water bottle. Obviously I grabbed his Enfield with 3 mags, too, along with a map, a compass and some painkillers. I then headed back into the supermarket and from there into the church - where I found a ghillie suit and finally logged off to go onto this forum and tell the story that had lasted around 30 mins. It was the upmost thrilling thing I have experienced in a video game during the last few years. This might not sound too spectacular, but it surely showed me what I love most about DayZ: Not the zombies, not the loot or the huge map. No, it's the interaction with other survivors, be it friendly or just plain deadly. Sorry for the huge wall of text, the story turned out longer than I expected. If you still read it all, kudos to you. If not, I really can't blame you.
