Q&A with Map Designer Adam Franců
Storymaster replied to Baty Alquawen's topic in News & Announcements
Hello, Sumrak, and thank you for taking the time to talk to us about the future of the DayZ map and answer a few of our questions. (Great questions so far, everyone.) Are there any plans to add a moving river to Chernarus, (perhaps one that survivors could put a canoe or inflatable raft on for a swift trip to the coast?) -- and are there any plans to add a single vast inland lake with an island -- and if not in South Zagoria, then perhaps in another province if one comes in an expansion? -
They're hidden in a drum on your server, along with all of the bear traps and trip wires. 1000 hours in, combing the map, and I've never found any.

Great update and an awesome plug for the good folks over at Aftermath.

Looking forward to the report. Thanks for the update, Baty.

"As long as folks don't string me up and put a muzzle on me like that feller from that Mad Max movie, we'll be alright," is something Morgan might respond with, had he not been stuck in Chernarus when it came out.

Looking forward to all these wonderful things on the development board. Visual and audio fidelity overhaul just around the corner, then further on down bicycles, bears, vines and overgrowth (al la The Last of Us), base building, and areas requiring gas masks and haz mat suits. And that doesn't even scratch the surface.

Barricading with non-destroyable objects is definitely a bad thing. DayZ is about loss, but I'm not sure that the answer is necessarily to be able to cut tents. The ability to climb fences, scale climbable objects, break and climb through windows, should fix any barricading issues and make for a more interesting survival game.

Asmondian.... a most excellent illustration of a concept once again. Would be amazing to see implemented. Would definitely be excellent to see all of us wearing those when it is raining in Chernarus!

Good stuff, Irish!

That leather poncho looks slick, Exwoll. I would love to craft a wolfhide poncho that looks like that.

As I recommended in a thread Irish started a while back, I would love to see a leather pancho (rain resistant) that is craftable.

I have found my first ammo box. Does this item have permanence like the protector case?

Vehicle desynch is the biggest issue with vehicles at the moment - an issue that has only grown worse in the past few days, somehow agitated by the geometry hang up fix for vehicles. Vehicle desynch used to give a warning with small stutters, queing the player to log off and reload their entire game before continuing to drive. In the past three days, my friends and I have experienced severe dsynch without warning which has destroyed 8 vehicles and killed 3 of us. When I first reported this bug when vehicles returned to Stable, I was told that this was scheduled for a fix. Do we know when this will be resolved - is it soon, and if not, what roadblocks are standing in the way of addressing this crucial issue?
