Hello Bohemia, could you please consider releasing less updates but with the same or more content over the whole year? Every update the modded community servers - at least the one I play on - need to wipe everything because of changes to and problems with the mods, which is kind of frustrating for the players when the "seasons" are so (way too) short. Thank you for another year of support and development.

This article reminds me of the more recent Arma 3 report-ins. "Menpower shifting to other projects" "Nothing big coming, small-scale content, etc." Except Arma 3 looks back at a long and proud history full of content, DLCs, inoumerous updates, developer dedication and a support that really deserves to be called "post-release support". DayZ can not look back to that, it can't even look back to a complete release. This is why this article is so frustrating for me personally.

I read the article again and this time this quote really left a bad taste... As if you wanted to write "with the time and resources left", but weren't allowed. Sorry, this might be unfair, but reading this article with the whole year still ahead of us it pretty much knocked me out... 😒

I'm sorry but "post-release support" just feels out of place and totally wrong. Instead I'd say that you're still completing the release. With that said it's really sad to see the priority (ressources) going elsewhere. This is really disappointing and feels like a partly abandonment - certainly not full commitment as it should be (remembering the promises and seeing what is still missing in the game). Instead we read about intentions, like if you aren't sure you can do it. So you try to reduce the expectations. Sorry to say that, but as a die-hard BI fanboy since OFP this report just feels frustrating... EDIT: I hope that you prove me wrong, but seeing the facts you write (ressource shifting + "small scale content") I feel pessimistic. How long shall your customers wait for the game to be complete?

The connection to the server fails (official DE server). Picking an alternative one throws where God knows where, which I don't want, so... Can't play as intended - thank you very much. 😞

As much as I'd love a winter map, snow doesn't necessarily mean it.

It seems you really worked your butts off to get this done, despite the problems you reported yesterday. Good job, guys!

I'm totally fine with that, if course I didn't expect this in the game preview phase. Good to know that you're thinking about it and that in general you would like to see it. Thanks a lot for your answer!

Need help with controls XML file
Undeceived replied to Jesper Green Jensen's topic in General Discussion
I don't know if this helps but the XML file is a bit tricky when it comes to the basic movement. UAMoveForward UAMoveBack UATurnLeft UATurnRight The third and fourth blocks are TURN, not move. The UAMoveLeft and Right are further down in the file. I fell for it too, maybe it helps someone else. -
RIght click on inventory item does nothing!
Undeceived replied to Stoutman's topic in Troubleshooting
Right click on ammunition, etc. in the inventory does split it. -
BI, hearing about the M&K controls is absolutely amazing news! Also the separation of controller types on the servers. Are you considering to implement cross play with the PC as well? That would be a dream come true (for me as PC player at least as I have some Xbox friends that are highly interested in the game). Of course I wouldn't expect it now but only after things have stabilized, etc. Or did you definitely decide against crossplay, even after hearing about Microsoft's M&K support for the Xbox One? Would be great to hear anything from you on that.

Do you prefer to open up the inventory and drag the slug on the gun? :-) The hotbar does a good job, you just need to remember putting your ammo in there, then take your weapon in your hand (which you'll probably have seeing the fresh spawn running towards you) and HOLD down the ammo key.

Spawn less food, allows us to go longer without food.
Undeceived replied to Saylor Twift's topic in General Discussion
Coming directly from 0.62 the food distribution increased a lot in the beta. IMO it's a bit too much (while I really had a hard, hard time in 0.62 finding something eatable). It's not easy to balance this I think, but I'd decrease at least the spawning of cans a little tiny bit. -

A quick update that allows to set the keys ingame as wanted really is needed, obviously in the next days, not in the 1.0! I know that it's possible to change the key binds in the xml file but this really is a PITA. Oh, BIS, if you're reading this, please add back the toggle walk too. I often play the game walking (especially inside of houses) and don't want to keep pressing the button all the time.

Being a PC player I would love to see mouse and keyboard support in DayZ on the Xbox! I have a group of friends (Xbox players) that saw me playing DayZ on PC and they really loved it. They now got to know that DayZ is out for the Xbox as well and they're really interested and will probably get it. My wish on the long turn would be that DayZ on the Xbox offers M&K support and that by this a crossplay between both systems would be considered by BI. If I remember correctly, the devs excluded this so far because of the advantages of the PC's M&K controls. But this was prior to Microsoft's announcement that M&K are coming to the Xbox. If BI would go with this now then the balance between PC and console would be even, at least regarding controls. Of course I understand that then the balance problems would be shifted to the Xbox side. However, as some here pointed out, this could be solved by offering servers with controllers exclusively and servers allowing both or M&K only.
