Pending Update: Build 1.7.2.4
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Haha! This is a bad bug, but in some respects a bug to be proud of! hehehe. 1 million + tents. That's a lot of users placing tents! Testament to the popularity of this awesome mod! -

Here's another test to do for next patch. Start players without backpacks and increase Czech pouch, coyote and assault pack spawn rates slightly. -

I really would of thought considering you worked for these guys and you've clearly made them an absolute corpse load of cash, I really would of thought they would of given you access to the source code already! -

There are already a dozen games out there with a suicide option. I don't think you have anything to worry about. -

I guess you could still look at it as a test bed even if it does get finalized. I have to admit though, I would prefer seeing a standalone product worked on sooner rather than later. All these current niggles this engine gives seems to get in the way of development to some extent. I could imagine a clean platform for you guys to work on would be a more appealing prospect for the future of the project. I too have a feeling they will have issues with that name. hehe -

With this in mind, would you say DayZ as a mod will ever be finalized or will it forever be just a test bed for the standalone? -

Any chance of fixing inventory issues so that items just drop on the floor instead of disappearing? -

I'm actually wondering if this is a good idea to make player reps public as I can imagine some smart members of the community working out how to circumvent such algorithms by analyzing this information. Just a thought. -

Also I would like to add is perhaps if you could track player locations at log out as well. People who farm don't tend to move far from their location. So players who re-log multiple times in a short period who don't even move 200 meters from their initial location are flagged more. You could also allow admins to see flagged players in their servers. -

Yeah, it isn't going to stop players from doing it in the short term but it's certainly a good deterant. -

That gun you really wanted? You found it? Well its gone!

It does puzzle me why something so integral to a game ( the inventory ) is so flawed. This would of been one of the first bugs in the game I would of fixed, regardless of if it is an Arma 2 bug or not. If an item doesn't fit in then don't allow it to go in or at least have it fall on the floor. For those who keep saying, " learn how to use the inventory " you're clearly missing the point. I shouldn't have to learn how to use it, it should just work, eg store items I put in it like it's suppose to and not eat them like it isn't. In your argument if you're sat in a car and put your foot on the accelerator and the car flies 200 feet in the air you really think the solution to that is being told, learn now to drive properly? I think next to cheating this is the single most annoying bug for most users. -

Well it's not spam, it's a genuine question. -
NATO weapons at HELO sites and additional weapons.
[email protected] replied to count_blackula's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
^ This. Just made a very similar post in another thread. High tier items/weapons should be uber rare. -
[HELP] Extremely blurry graphics.
[email protected] replied to vremy's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Is it just the HUD that have these graphical artifacts or is it the whole game. Also posting your system specs can help in these situations. -
Spawned to this [video proof]
[email protected] replied to Liquidator (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I think he was joking lol But this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. It's gotten way out of hand and this seems to be happening in nearly every other server now. -
Delete the super/overpowered weapons please
[email protected] replied to Mr Muggles's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
^ This. These weapons don't really need to be removed. Having them adds a lovely threat elements. They just need to be a lot more rare. Remove these easy ways to dupe these items and remove the ability to spawn ammo crates full of them. As of now they are way too common and every farmer and their mums have got one these days. I also think all high tier gear, sniper rifles, automatics even alive packs etc.. should be very rare. I seem to find an AK in every other building lately. You should find these weapons and cream you pants because you've found one much like NVGs. Not the current, oh there's another one, oh there's another one. -
IF this was an actual game...
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I would like to ask you Rocket. Hypothetically if you wasn't a dev and were a fellow minion of the community how would you answer these questions? How would you rather pay for it? - Game purchase with Monthly fee? (WoW stylez) - Game purchase only? (Guild Wars stylez) - Free to play, buy your shit? - Something else? Also: - Community developed or studio developed? - Community or studio servers? or both? - Kickstarter? or not? I'd genuinely really like to hear your ideals of what the model of the project would be as I'm sure many others would too. Thanks. -
Please do not reply to these hack promoting threads, you're merely bumping their threads and giving them more exposure. Simply report the thread and let them sink and disappear. Thanks.

DO NOT REPLY TO HACK THREADS!
[email protected] replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
How about this. Limit where new users can post. Limit them to New Player Discussion/Troubleshooting. They can only post in other areas if they either a, post x amount of threads in either of the previous sections or b, have been a member for longer than x amount of days, or a combination of the two. -
Proof. You need to have a full account of what transpired and proof that the admit banned you unfairly. Screen-shots, time stamps, server name, your location, when you was banned, what was you doing at the time, what was the reason given for the ban etc etc... Pretty much common sense really.
