    This is in regards to SA. Blur effect would only work with players that have post processing enabled. As for server side overload, I think they could quite easily handle player tracking as mentioned in my original post. These are probably already tracked and added to the database anyway. Just because they already have a solution ( of which I've yet to see which covers all aspects of my original suggestion) doesn't mean it will necessarily work when it comes to pushing it to live. I also wouldn't consider these things as "minor gameplay problems" They are actually pretty game breaking and should be some of the foremost issues addressed next to stability and security. Nevertheless, this is a suggestion section which they can refer back to once the more important things are addressed. Too strict? I have to disagree. I think there should be zero tolerance for this kind of game play and use of exploits. It utterly undermines the core essence of what DayZ is about and at the end of the day, it's simply cheating, for which players should be punished and banned for. I actually thought I was being quite lenient with a 24 hour ban. As much as this has had some success in Epoch it does have its flaws. It still doesn't address combat logging or server hopping to some extent as the player can merely move out of the exclusion zone and log out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are many issues that could and probably would arise from my suggestion. But it is something that could perhaps be tried and test as something to fall back on if the current development ideas don't pan out as intended. Or even can be used to supplement the current development ideas that combat these issues.

    Possible Fix for Server Hopping on Standalone

    Simple solution for server hopping for gear farming. If the player joins a server at a location, then leaves and joins another server, that player will not be able to loot ANY item within 1000+ meter radius of where they spawned in for at least 20 minutes. So they have to leave that area if they wish to survive. On top of that the more often the player hops server the further the radius gets and the longer the cool down time is on being able to return to that area and loot items.

    Correct restart procedure.....

    So I've restarted my server on a 6 hour basis but randomly sometimes tents/vehicles do not load and I have to keep restarting the server until they do. I've read that there's a certain way to restart a DayZ server so it loads all the databases correctly but nobody ever goes into detail on how this is achieved. Could someone please explain to me what this correct procedure is, if there is one? Thanks.

    Slower zombies, increased numbers.....

    I would like to suggest that zombies don't sprint. Sorry but I really do hate the idea of a sprinting zombie. It goes against everything I've been brought up to know about the zombie genre. Zombies threat are their numbers, not their speed. As much as I love the movie 28 days later with the "infected" I still don't see them as zombies in the traditional sense, I prefer the classic Romero style of zombie. Here's what I suggest. Slow zombies so they almost speed walk, at a fast menacing pace but not a sprint as they currently are. Prevent the player from running for long periods and implement a sprint function where the player gets tired quickly and is set back to a slow jog. Different speed of zombie, depending on their "rottenness". Fresher cadavers would be able to move faster, the more rotten ones would move a little slower. Would be nice to have a little variation. Increase the numbers of zombies to increase the chance of being overwhelmed. Nothing more exciting than being cornered in a building running out of bullets while more and more dead start lining up at the doors to get in. Towns with churches also need a big increase with zombies due to them having a graveyard. Big cities like Cherno and Elektro and the airports need a huge increase in dead. It's currently way too easy for people to just hole up in them for very long periods. These places should only be areas you are forced to go in times of medical supply's and the want for better gear. This would solve a few problems. The first would be it would fix the issue with zombies warping and zig-zagging around unrealistically. The second it would make the map feel a lot bigger due to players not being able to cross the map in 15 minutes by super humanly sprinting from one side of the map to the other. The third is players would have to work more as a team to enter areas of good resources as going in a city alone is a guarantee of getting eaten. It would be nice to see this tested out to see how it affects gameplay and whether the community as a whole likes it. Just seeing it being tested would be really nice. Would love to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks.

    Vipeax or Rocket could you please consider the following. Is there any way to disable the ( continue ) button on the briefing screen. The reason for this is that when a server restarts and players click on this it tends to load the server without any tents or vehicles. If you allow the briefing screen to just timeout naturally all items are loaded properly. If you could do this it would make automatic restarts less of a hazard and prevent admins from having to lock their servers after a restart. Thanks.

    This issue usually occurres for me when barbwire is placed. This has been an issue for me and many others I play the game with since barbwire was added. This might be caused by a different issue but it looks very similar. You'll notice the artifacts actually original from a point on the horizon and fan out from that point. That point is usually where the barbwire is placed.

    Biggest Annoyance in the game

    I have a sneaky suspicion that this is part of Rockets attempt at preventing server hoppers. Players I talk to who tend to jump servers often or log in and out a lot seem to have increased load and login times over players who stay in servers for longer periods. It could be a coincidence but that's what I've observed.

    [Suggestion] Barbed Wire Changes

    I honestly think barbwire should be removed, period. Its current use is pretty much only for griefing. Also pretty much everyone I know who plays this game often complain about the wire causing graphical glitches and artifacts.

    Is teamspeak in the spirit of the game?

    In an ideal world TeamSpeak would be outlawed in this game and players would have to rely on radios they find in the environment. This would bring in the true spirit of what this game is about. But unfortunately there's absolutely no way to police this or prevent people from using any kind of voice com software outside of a game. That being said I think TeamSpeak does have a place in this game even though it doesn't adhear to the true spirit of DayZ. Meeting people in-game and then inviting them on your TS is a good way to build good friendships and large communities. It's also a great way to help others, especially new players. I try to convince myself it's ok to use TS in-game by imagining I've simply spawned with a radio that's only tuned in to a frequency a select few can hear. =D

    Over Turning a ban

    If the server admin has no proof that you used malicious talk or racism in their server then your ban should be overturned. These are the only reasons an admin should ban you. It has been posted and re-posted a hundred times now. I think you can comfortably add cheating to this as well but don't quote me on that.

    Thing is a player trying to find a stable server is going to server hop half a dozen times a most and then chances are they won't be picking up loot or in high loot locations. This would be logged. One would only have to cross reference this data to separate the illegitimate from the legitimate players. Also my RL analogy wasn't being literal, it was more of an example of how this system works. Plus this would be an automated system that's controlled by the people making the laws as it were so there is very little if not any chance of abuse. I can see your point though, I can image some innocents getting caught up in it. But I guess that's what this analyzing and testing is about. Trying to develop and perfect the system.

    Thing is, as Rocket pointed out, these players who indulge in this activity as server hoping as usually indulging in other illegal acts. These flagged accounts can then be analysed for other activities thus making it easier to catch these players. Think of it as a stop and search in real life, not everyone is concealing a weapon but it's better to check everyone just to make sure.
