    Notes

    This is confusing calling this an update, nothing new is introduced. This looks to me like a hotfix

    Didnt get much time to test but all previous issues are still relevant.

    Thanks.

  2. 1.Binoculars aren't working when held and left click to look thru, same for;
    PS01 Scope
    Hunting scope
    Range Finder
    I saw; https://feedback.bistudio.com/T137102 however its more items affected than stated in that ticket.

    2.Cannot open Tuna again on official server.
    I can open intermittently on my community EXP test server. Not every time.

    3.Field Transceiver (Base Radio) looks like this;
    Image

    Still testing atm. Server performance is looking good, no lag with inventory.

  3. Testing still in progress, shooting people in this patch feels more like dayz mod 🤭

    Two 556 headshots to kill?

    Four - five .380 to kill?

    Makes combat slightly more intense and an opportunity to Bandage maybe but a headshot should be a one shot with anything 9mm+ Imo

    12G slugs is now the only one shot I’ve seen.

    Noticed you recommend VON quality = 20 but your serverDZ.cfg it’s still 7.

    Thanks will continue testing 👍🏻

    Would it be too much to ask what the plan for the permanent fix is?  I mean, it's not like this is the single biggest factor in having, I don't know, a persistent world.

    It’s not permanent but I assure you in testing of this and last patch I’ve not lost a single item, base object or vehicle. Even during crash/stress testing the server, validated the file and starts the server. Both me and my server users are very happy with it.

  5. Fantastic update! Seriously overall this is brilliant work. The difference from a player POV is substantial however from a server owner it’s night and day. Persistence backups are flawless, not one issue in my crash testing and normal play. The new guns are very well implemented. Server FPS is at a record high with a stock global.xml.

    Few small issues I have noticed during my testing;

    1. When removing objects from hands it appears massive and gives no idea of slot size. Using the hot bar negates this still needs to be accurate.

    2. When dragging clothing (or gear) from ground sometimes it does not move the visible box to inventory side of screen, I see no way to duplicate with this issue and of course once you click the cross in top right of box it closes.

    3. You did mention zombies were a bit bullet proof so, yes they are taking slot of shots to head

    4. Vehicles seem to desynchronise more than the last patch, this may be down to the new sounds etc. Small network issue I’m sure.

    5. Server crash when a heli crash attempted to clear sambecus1 bush (this only happened on my summer exp server) could be mod related but it’s a crash regardless.

    Overall the amount of polish here is top notch, if you maintain this level of detail the end product will be a very rich and detailed MMO open world survival game.

    Thanks for the update! Roll on the next. 🙂

    I'm also confused as to why truck parts spawn in, but no trucks actually spawn. I've restored over 20 4x4 hatchbacks, but I've never seen any trucks spawn in, nor sedans.

    The V3S has been almost finished last time I checked, the Niva apart from a few saving issues is very well done and if the other vehicles can match that standard (psychics/details) the end game will be enjoyable.

    On the other hand it does seem kinda lazy the fact they didn't take 30 seconds to simply edit the xml and make sure the right loot is/is not in the spawns.

    You say it's an offline mission and you're a server owner. How the hell can you have other players on your server then if it's offline? These are the actual server files, even though the mission is called offline, it doesn't matter, it's just a name. And I don't care if a 9 year old can set up a LAN server or not, I only mentioned it because you don't believe we got the server files.

    And about persistence, in your original post you said that persistent is non-existent. I never denied that persistence is broken, that's definitely true and even the developers acknowledge that fact. But saying that persistent is non-existent is total BS.

    We've got the (actual) server files, there are hives and persistence is present although bugged, that's the truth and the facts.

    Lol I see why you have 1974 posts pal coz you still dont get it lmfao
    Are you being deliberately facetious?? or just pumping up ur post amount
    GO HIVE THE FILES YOU HAVE MATE. Let me know how that goes xD

    On a lighter note....
    @ImpulZ I will test exp and report. Thanks for the update.

    MySQL won't work for SA.  The way they've done things now with the central economy won't allow for it.  There are far too many objects the server has to keep track of.  Not only the objects themselves but their states.  Tracking all of the items in game this way would require way more performance than what SQL can provide.  You would be talking about doing thousands of queries per minute to find current status of each object, the server would have to apply logic rules to them, then write them back to the database via more queries.  There's just no way that would work and result in a playable experience.

    In the mod when items were spawned in they were only memory resident.  This meant that upon server restart the items were all abandoned and deleted and new, different items were spawned in.  The only persistence was for players, vehicles, and/or constructed items.  But with SA you have tens of thousands or more items that the server has to keep track of which are persistent across restarts.  It's just not feasible to manage it through SQL.  Believe me, I hate that as much as everyone else, but it's the system we have to work with now.

    "The only persistence was for players, vehicles, and/or constructed items"
    ... What more do you need???

    I'm well aware of how the loot spawns on the both the mod and standalone having run servers and written code.

    I just hope we have a solution before everyone is as fed up as we are.

    Perhaps you don't know what you're talking about. It doesn't matter how it's called, the fact is, these are the server files. Or do you think people are doing some magical stuff to suddenly get an own server running? I've played on my LAN server a while back, it works and it has a hive and also persistence. Also, I believe the saving system is the same as 0.62 and it isn't MySQL.

    Server files.... THEY CANT EVEN HIVE! Its a offline mission... xD
    You post isn't even relevant, you ran a LAN server WOW, any 9 year old can do that with my server pack, good job :)

    You are missing the point,  focus on the fact this "persistent" saving system shits itself on a crash and deletes everything; Leaving me, modern or any other large community owner in the shit with their players. Also lets not get in the fact if you have over 50 players for 3 hours in a session there is a fat rollback. The vehicles Z axis isn't even saved ffs...

    A backup system doesn't change the fact this system does not work. If you look at the .bins, they do not save until the server begins it graceful shutdown.

    If this was "1.0" I would have HIVE servers, bulletproof persistence like me and my players expected.

    Not sure what you're on about but the server files are already released along with a mission.

    If you think thats the actual server files ur dilutional
    the mission is called; dayzoffline.chernarusplus
    It has no HIVE, the saving system is worse than 0.62

    Dont comment if you dont know what ur talking aboot :D

    KNOWN ISSUES

    • Server crashes can cause a persistence wipe. So especially for server owners, try to work with regular persistence backups and if you encounter server crashes, report with your crash dumps to our Feedback Tracker. If you have any proven reproduction steps for persistence wipes, let us know. The team is working on a long-term solution, which unfortunately will take some time.

    Can we just get the actual server files now and not some offline mission you have slapped together? We have no HIVE option in 1.0? Persistence is non existent... ?
    Its pretty annoying being a server owner/admin and longtime supporter of the mod/standalone to see this really IMPORTANT part of the game being brushed aside as a bug, this game was sold as a persistent open world survival game
    Ill quote your steam page;
    "Persistent servers with complex loot economy, and the ability to build improvised bases."
    A simple SQL system for now would be much more effective for us all. I mean the Z axis of vehicles isn't even being saved in this current database system, on a crash nothing is saved :/

    Thanks.

    I know I'm going to get hate for this, but I feel like I need to vent about this update. First off let me say I play on UK420 Vanilla+.

    Trains: Why remove them? It was legit the only reasonable way to find padlocks. Castles are almost always blocked off so you cant even get into the places w/ the loot spawns, so how am I supposed to find them now? And even if the spawns aren't covered by a base, all those wonderful empty tin cans are in the place of a possible padlock spawn.

    Screws: Honestly why? What's the point of sheet metal now? Not like you can't get any of that anymore b/c there's no trains anywhere.

    Changelogs w/ loot in military buildings: By what I've seen, there has been no change whatsoever. The best weapons that I'm finding is still an AK or an M16. What ever happened to the good old days when you could find a DMR in a barrack? With barracks w/ loot tables such as the current ones, there's no point in going to NWAF or any of the military places anymore b/c you know you won't find anything high tier.

    1.8.8 was a great update, but 1.8.9 killed basebuilding in most regards. This patch has surely made me almost quit the mod for good.

    Thanks for playing on UK420 Vanilla+

    Trains is not up to me, the devs removed them with the latest patch. (tbh I prefer this, its more 1.8.6.1 style and finding a padlock was a rare thing.)

    The rules have yet to be updated for the server. Castles will be now under building rules.

    Regards
