Yop. Most psycholige focuses on just empirics (is that a word in english?; i mean the thing where you get evil by experience). I just do not think this is true. Genes are still pretty much unkown to us all, and i think there is an evil gene, which gets even more evil, the more generations before you in your same bloodline have experienced "shit"; "social shit", "traumas". Because i am pretty much a guy who has never had the urge to hack in any way, because i think it is just lame and boring. What is the point anyway? And there come the other psychopaths probably telling you that they were bored of the original gameplay and thus tried to entertain themself by pain of others or simply getting a kick out of doing hacking. Do you know that feeling when you have hack-killed someone? Most folks will feel bad, but there is the psychopaths getting a kick out of this. Probably the feeling in normal people, which tells them to have remorse, turns into the opposite in them, because they hate society norms and common "feeling". It is purely an emotional thing as well. Ew, whateffs :) -

It is the only solution :D Either just kill them (as can be seen by the death penalty in some countries) or just let them be (which means: all the rest of society has to live with it AKA the tendency; of course there are different variations of it). And yop: my personal believe is that most of these people have gone through generations of suffereing, social traumas, etc, and that in their genes is encoded this information and thus the natural desire to just be a damn asshole. And i do not mean that cool asshole we all know, i mean a true "mean mother" .. wait ... no i don't mean that one either, i mean the films show us it is cool to be that "mean mother", right? Don't you wanna be that damn asshole fin up everyone in the films? Damn culture, i mean we play a video game pretending to kill each other :D :P It is pretty much a meme, which over generations has encoded its information on our genes. Pretty much starting from the early phases of evolution where we still were small bacterias swimming in the ocean ... but the question is: how did that meme get there at first place ... :P -

Yeah, the psychopath theory. I think it is just a buzzword in modern society; i mean, everyone wants to be a psychopath anyway, because it is cool; i get it; psychopaths, yeah "i don't give a shit" yeah yeah i am so cool and all that blah. You could call pretty much all Bronce citicens psychopaths then, because there is this ubermind controlling them; there is no way out. So i rather think it is a meme, which comes from naturally deseased people; most people just adapt then; and thus the world goes poisened. That last point real psychopaths probably will not understand, because i am sure they do not want to live by themselves in a world full of destruction; thus it is actually nothing more than exploiting and acting like a parasite. Psychopaths are the real desease of this world; and online gaming is a perfect playing ground for them; because they think the online world does not matter anyway; well, what happens if i value your life as "doesn't matter"; think about it. It is actually a desease; but then again, it is aposterio. Actually apriori vs aposterio. Real question: can we ever get rid of them? Considering that genes spread over generations this would probably take a long long time and probably only be possible by recognition (tests) and popluation control. And herby i totally brought this thread into the abyss :) P.S. what a psychopath probably will never understand: what will happen if everybody acts the same way as he/she? It would be such a violent and ugly world, no? A psychopath hopes to exploit the behavior of others. The only solution would be pain AKA we all turn into psychopaths: let us see what the world looks like then; probably even better for the world (debatable what "world wants"), because then there would be immediate thermonuclear war .... or wouldn't it? Probably not, there are unfortunately also smart psychopaths ... understanding their "exploit nature" .... but they are not smart enough to understand what would happen if everybody would act like them. So the only solution is probably to show them themselves what they are AKA inflict pain on them the same way they do on others they seek to exploit. But this would lead into a such uncomfortable and uneccessary world; this is why i think a resource base economy would be best for us all; not that shit we have now today ( a dream world for psychopaths which could't give more sh!t) .... putting that into the dayz online-gaming world: we would all need to become hackers. The same way as bycicle sports actually; a complete joke HAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA really men, this is so fucked up to think about .... -

False premises. Hackers are not a product of our society, i think it is within their nature to do so. I have watched hackers now long enough to understand, that these kind of people are potential murderes; it is the same kick they get from destroying others fun than sadistically murdering someone. And you might think that it is cool to be feared; well, i don't give a damn about your life full of fear and no innovation; all i see in a hacker is disgust of humanity. Video game hacking is special here, because it is seemingly not that much of a matter; i mean common, it is just a video game, right? Well, that is wrong. I can assure you, that this is just a matter of personal value system. If you get bored of some thing, you do not value it. And here is the difference then between hackers and potential murderers, and normal people. Normal peopel just move on, hackers get a kick out of destroying others, for whatever reason. To find out that reason is probably also a matter of intellect; i can assure you most hackers are not very smart. They can not distinguish different cases, and between well deserved vengeance and violence and random violence. They would say the random violence is well deserved, because either for their ego, or for real (like, they actually relieve their real life stress or problems with this). That is why i think online gaming hacking is a great indicator of potential murderes. Mark my words. -
I posted this already. The idea is to find different plants, and combinations of those plants heal different stuff. Let's make this as concrete as possible: Plants: green, red, blue. Combine: green, green = Heal Combine: red, green = Mega Heal Combine: blue, green = Anit-poisen. What you think? Cheers fart (lol)

Exactly. This is my inspiration. But not RE4. It was already in RE1 hehe. I am an oldschooler. Never played RE4, but it fits into DayZ, this is my conviction. And did RE4 make any extentions to this, you know? I never played it. In RE1 and 2 i just saw red, green, blue ones ^^

Not in cities, preferably woods. And yes, the network bubble rocket mentioned. Maybe this should be spawned clientside (just assuming it would get heavy for the server spawning plants everywhere). Then, to prevent cheaters from insta-healing, put a time delay on those plants and inform clients with a message AKA "you ate some plants, you are healing now", and thus, his health slowly goes up. Would prevent infight healing by item spawners. Just an idea aside, but yeah: your question AKA where you got these from: you will find them in the woods.

Very nice. The really important stuff about my suggestion was the crafting aspect of it. Really simple stuff, like mixing a red plant with a blue one will heal symptom X, or something. It should not be totally go out of hand though, just 3 or 4 different types of plants, spawning preferably in the woods, would be great. Then you would even be able to survive in the woods (ah i remember the dayz mod days where i was surviving in the woods and then suddenly infected myself + crashed/bugged me almost all health out, then i died horribly from lack of medicine AKA antibioticum, while stiill hunting some animals meanwhile to eat them to regain health; but it was all in vain anyway, arggg) ... So yeah, finding plants + mixing them is my main suggestion.

Extra came here, searched, found this topic. What i think would be cool is finding plants, and mixing them. You can generate medicine and health portions with this (think of resident evil, blue, green, red plants, some heal poison, others give health, others give extra health). I think this would be really really really reaaaaalllyyy cool :) By the way: am i in the right forum? :D

Hi, Date/Time: whole period of 1.7.1.5 What happened: a) the crossbow bolts sometimes get stuck and hang around in the air after a shot. b) bolts are sometimes not retrievable anymore with scroll wheel method. What you were doing: using the crossbow :) *Current installed version: 1.7.1.5/beta93965 *Server(s) you were on: mostly europe servers with the same beta and code versions *Your system specs: Win7 64 bit As for 'a) the crossbow bolts sometimes get stuck and hang around in the air'. This happens fairly randomly. The bolt is retrievable from the air afterwards. As for 'b) bolts are sometimes not retrievable anymore with scroll wheel method.' It might already be implemented, but if so, sometimes this does not work. So the idea is, when you can not retrieve the crossbow bolt with scroll wheel method anymore, you should be able to gear it from the body of the zombie. Most important is however point a). Bolts sometimes seem to hit an invisible target infront of the real target and get stuck in the air then. Hope that was a good bug report :) Cheers -fart

Hi, i am not aware if this was already posted, but what i am certainly aware off is the complaining about the amount of item slots a bolt takes up in your inventory. As the crossbow is also fairly underpowered and hard to use, people will always choose it over e.g. a shotgun or a lee enfield. So i have a couple of suggestions to solve the problem that: a) the weapon is too weak b) the amount of item slots a crossbow bolt takes The simple solution for 'a) the weapon is too weak' is of course to make a hit reduce more health. There are no cons against this, except that the weapon is silent, and so it should not reduce too much health. However at current state the amount of reduction for a hit is too less. Also it is very hard to use the crossbow (without iron sight, which is perfectly fine that we don't have iron sight for it), so it should be a bit more rewarding. E.g. when it takes up 3 shots in the body to kill a human, it should take up 2. As for b). This is probably the most considerable reason for people not using it that often. It simply eats up your inventory. Therefore i would find it cool to see it overlap; 1 slot = 2 crossbows bolts would already be enough and probably even the best. However i have a little gimmicky suggestion to this: why not introduce a "container-bolt" item especially for the crossbow bolts. So to summarize: i think the weapon is too weak and needs to be better managable concerning the amount of slots the crossbow bolts take up. My suggestions have been posted in a) and b). P.S. please if anybody has contact to Rocket (i doubt he can read every post here in this forum) tell him and try to convince him to put at least the item in, so that crossbow user have moa fun at least ^^ Cheers -fart

Hi, can anybody explain this to me ? While going around in elector i ahve not been able to retrieve any weapon. There were only empty cans, some ammo here and there, but still no weapon at all. The city was totally empty. Also: why can i not see dead bodies. There are fly sounds everywhere, but no dead bodies visible. Please help, this is annoying and unplayable. I play 1.7.1.5 + patch_93965. Some severs do not show the patch version, is this maybe a cause ? So if i play 1.7.1.5 + patch 94103, will this cause this behaviour ? Any help welcome. -fart -

What i wonder though if the 'no weapons everywhere' is just based on bad luck (probability), people already looting it (unlikely because the city was empty), or maybe a client side bug where i can not see weapons or some of this weird stuff. The dead body flies is definitly the other thing leading up to that theory. If i can not see dead bodies, then it may also be that i do not see weapons. Could be, no ? Hence the question, will different beta patch versions (client/server) cause such a behaviour ? Because the dead bodies not visible is definetly a nasty and annoying bug. It gets more and more annoying when you hear dead flies nearly everywhere the city, but can not see any body. It was literally around every corner i heard a dead body, but it was not visible. -

I looted pretty much the whole city of electro. Server was 25/50. City empty. No weapon at all. I was on every single place: supermarket, school, firestation, other station, houses, small houses, train stations etc etc etc, nothing. And still: i was nearly surrounded by dead fly body sounds, and none of those were visible. How can i even trust my eyes anymore. This is so annoying !!!!!!! -
Well, the owner wouldn't just stand there. He would just have somehow achieved this place and now it is his own. The buying stuff would happen exactly like for example in Diablo 3. You simly put up items there for others to buy. That is at least my assumption how this would work. For sure it would be awesome, but probably not achievable. But one can dream, no ? :D On the other hand. Other players must be given the chance to somehow take over your store lol. But i have no clue how one would do that. Especially considering the fact that a player can not protect his store 24 hours ^^ (needs to sleep ^^).

Actually yes. With heavier bleeding i would be perfectly fine. It does not make the weapon too overpowered, because a huge advantage is already that the weapon is silent. So too much firepower would not balance out that well. The bleeding aspect adds up kinda nicely to that. -

And i wondered from where i was shot in Elektro. I saw a guy glitching out of the roof of the hospital and thought maybe the building is enterable and that you can get to the roof. The shot also came out of nowhere and i was pretty sure i had noone seen except the guy who after the shot fell down from the hospital. -

As for the damage buff. I am not sure, but i once needed 3 shots to the body to kill someone. Luckily the first shot knocked the guy (who was hunting me) out. Also a nice experience is when the bolts sometimes do not hit although properly aimed. Instead they seem to have been hit an invisible target infront of the real target. At the end the crossbow bolt was stuck, hanging in the air, and i could even loot it from there. But this probably belongs to the bug reports section. Still i think it is a bit underpowered concerning PvP action. And at some point, if you really like the crossbow and prefer it over other weapons, i kinda want it to be more effective (and not just 3 shots to the body and hope that the guy knocks out). -
It is already a confirmed bug. If you are on the woods or something then you will not notice, but once you hit a town, you have no chance. Zombies will come out of nowhere, see you through walls and all kind of obstacles. Even if you are in crouch mode, they come from nearly 100 meters away. As it is right now, you will always have around 5 zombies on your ass, although you watched out and tried to sneak around. You simply can't avoid them!!

Spawned. Had great FPS. Played 5 minutes, FPS went worse and worse. Overall i spawned 10 to 20 times today, i managed to survive on average for about 10 minutes. Normally i easily make it over 30 minutes (pre Patch 1.7.1.4 ^^). I died to Zombies mostly. So ok, where to start. - FPS (literally 5 FPS. I have a good graphics card, i even sometimes run smoothly. However, the longer the game progresses, FPS gets lower and lower and lower). - Next is, i just spawn with a torch, nothing more in my inventory. Okok, i know why this is for and i basically apreciate this, but combined with the nice aggro zombies range aka 1000 meter through walls you basically have no chance to survive very long. The fix is coming, okok no problem. - I crawled alot today. More than normal. Zombies simply punch me down, crack my bones, when i try to hit them with almost the only weapon i ever found today, THE HATCHET. Yet, i have no morphine. Ok, well?! Respawn!!! - Respawned again, same state. I managed to put morohine on me this time. However, i still have no weapon. Where is the loot. No loot everywhere. I extra played long today (fixing my sleep schedule), but the loot system is bugged as hell. Okok, hardly over the corner, next 20 zombies hit me. This time 1 hit knocks me out. Ok no problem you might think. At least i should have around 5000K blood left (from 9000 to 5000, that is ok for one knockout, no ?). But guess what, the knockout time is so high that it is enough that 1 zombie can kill you while eating. Nice! - Ok respawn again. Making the same story over and over again. Still no weapon. No items. Zombies OP, WTF Nu fun!!! - Then i try to chat with others asking them how it is going, but guess what, the chat is also brokend/bugged :D Not working at all :D - Ok men, no problem. I still want to play this game. Lets just go to another server and spawn again. I will have about 100 FPS again and around 3 minutes till they drop down. If you totally prone and just crawl through the game, no zombie will ever aggro on me. Well, this time, after 30 minutes, i found my first 'real' weapon today: a Makarov (and i know where loot spawns, believe me). So i walk along, and guess what, another 20 zombies :D 100 meters away from me coming at me :D I make one single move and again 20 zombies WTF :D Ok no prob no prob, at least i have this Makarov. Ok cool, Zombies down, no ammo. OMG. - So i go to this military camp where normally some good weapons spawn, but guess what, empty cans!!!! LOL. Nice. - But the top scene was this for me. After i managed to shoot all my bullets into my enemy zeds (the cities i walked through ? No shots at all. It was a 50 men server, total silence), i was on that one military camp near "Balota?". I had again 20 zombies on me, constantly actually. I climbed up on one of thes things (do not know how to call them). But they are wooden and have a ladder. I remembered there spawns always a weapon, at least some ammo. But nothing. All i found was this one "green flare?". It attrackts zombies, no ? Well there was one zombie climbing up the ladder behind me. I had no ammo, no weapons, 1 hour walk behind me. The only chance is this green flare. Ok, i thought. I am sure a smart guy. I just throw this flare and the zombie who just climbed up the ladder and who is blocking my whole way down for me (no other way out) will run after it, and i can at least climb down (get out!). Well lol. All the other 100 zombies downstairs went after it, but only the 1 zombie blokcing the way down for me decided he will just stay there and troll me. Funny enough, he constantly tries to hit me, but somehow can not move forward aka in any way realized that he is not hitting me and that more hits will not change anything about this miserale situation. Well, lol. I just couldn't take it anymore and RQ ... My wonderful day of BugZ (ehm, i mean), yeah, BugZ ^^ P.S. no bash intended. I just find that hilarious how much this is broken, but i still love it. Keep up the good work. -fart

[1.7.1.4] Ammo dropped when picking up tools

Here is what happened to me: I had in my inventory 4 Marakov Mags and as primary weapon a hatchet (no secondary weapon). On the ground was laying a winchester + 2 ammo for it. After picking up the winchester, my 4 marakov mags and loads of other stuff dropped. For the other stuff, well, i can't remember it, but seemed also strange. But correct me if i am wrong: marakov mags take up different item slots than wichester ammo, so it shouldn't really drop that (along with other stuff from my secondary slots). Or is it intentional ? Seems weird to me. Specs: 1.7.1.4, latest beta patch. -
I also noticed this. I also thought maybe there is something wrong with the server version or something, a mismatch or anything. But i am pretty sure that i had the right server filter settings and joined the right server (e.g. searching for 1.7.1.4 / beta patch). Still, bodies not visible, but lotta flies.

I think so too. I played DayZ like 2 weeks ago or something and today started again. The zombies are nearly unavoidable and basically it encourages you to just run and have like 2 or 3 zombies on you all the time. Sneaking around ain't no more possible :(
