yeah, thats exactly what i meant, private servers connected to the public hive^^

DayZ infected being afraid of anything kind of destroy the atmosphere for me... They are crazy infected humans, they don't even fear being shot at, and don't feel pain, why should they fear fire? maybe interesting to see how it plays out in a mod later, but for the main game... i would like to keep my infected crazy and flesh-hungry please ;)

I bet it would be fun to roleplay a crazed guy throwing books at people screaming "Get them my children, eat them all up! bwahahahaha!" edit: alternatively just throwing bibles, screaming "The Power of christ compells you!", and when they are laughing their asses off, throw a sneaky grenade in between the books

guys calm your t*ts, these responses are just a confirmation that the ticket is being handled, it OF COURSE takes some time for the server hosters to reply, they aren't anxiously awaiting emails from DayZ users... give them a day or two time, jeez... oh, and btw, this is also why joining public hive servers is just asking to get killed by players who take their two minutes to restock on private hives private servers with public hive connection with tents full of gear at every coastal spawnpoint the whole "allowing people to host public hive servers" idea is just one big flaw

Oh it is, if you of course just go to a mil zone, loot the place and leave, its a very slim chance that there will be someone at the same time on such a big map And people definitely leave the coast, or else you'd never see people run around with an M4 And of course, mil zones pvp is organic, if there would be nobody, and nobody would decide to go there, there wouldn't be any pvp, but there is, at least if i decide to go snipe there basically, you can't at the same time make pvp that feels immersive and feels tense, and at the same time be 99% pvp, because anything that is there EVERY TIME makes you get used to it due to overstimulation, be it stress or anything else thats why you can play cod and don't be afraid to die or aren't afraid to lose all your stuff, because you simply don't care DayZ is about surviving, not about making it's pvp constant and everywhere, if you want that, like you said, just go play Arma 3 wasteland and you should be happy the whole time, or not? basically: to get good pvp in DayZ you need to stop running around everywhere and be patient, it's not BF4 or wasteland mod
-
you said people can get the stuff DayZ offers much faster in other games, i wanted you to name one you said then, without naming one, that coastal pvp is BS, which i agree with, and wanted to tell you spots where you could get PVP while NOT on the coast, what exactly don't you understand?
-
nobody forces you to stay on the coast battling an endless line of newspawns re-equipping on their corpses... if you want non-stop pvp added to survival, better play another game, in DayZ i get away from the coast as soon as possible, inland pvp is way more meaningfull because you can't re-equip in a few minutes, which drives away most players i just don't feel immersed if i get bumrushed by a guy having nothing but his shirt and pants, while i am holding a rifle, and yet due to lag and desync, it's happening a lot and can even get the unarmed guy free loot thats why i would stay far away from the coast and pvp in areas where there is a lot of military loot you can get a lot of contacts with other people for example at the military tents west of zelenogorsk and in zeleno itself, and don't have to worry about the people you killed coming back after 15 minutes to get you stary can also be very good to see contact, it overlooks a wide area many people travel through, because there is the road leading the fastest from chernarus to NWAF, the other one being in zelenogorsk of course, just traveling there and looking for five minutes wont grant you pvp, the best practice is to just wait and let people come to you, it makes it far more likely to meet people
-
name me one game that offer the same amount of survival elements ALONG with realistic bullet physics and rewarding tactical play
-
i remember from the mod that Stary Sobor was often way higher profile than the NWAF, especially the sniping hill on top of it, had some awesome sniping battles there with my team, an M24 and a range finder while my friend had a M109 that M109 firing sound... so awesome...
-
i am really excited about this coming, the main reason i feel dayz being unplayable right now is the abismal performance i get in cities, while in the woods i get a solid 40-50 fps maybe it will soon be time for me to finally log in to DayZ again and explore the vast spaces of Chernarus, fix a car and pick up some people from the coast to make friends or get mugged :D
-
Berezino, as always
-
manwhile i will run underneath these things with my barrel in my hands, collecting all the stuff
-
as far as it sounds, it seems to be a rendering technology to make rendering many 3d objects really fast, which would help with city performance in DayZ but your guess i as good as mine, no clue, can't find anything on it thank you dear sir, have my beans this looks very promising in a performance-optimization-kind of way, way to go devs! :D
-
certainly better than H1Z1, weird bunny-hopping in firefights is sooo immersive, don't you think? xD

well, if you read the EULA, or terms of servic, people selling online games normally have a clause saying that "Everything in the game, even if you buy it with real money, is still technically owned by the game's company" so, selling stuff from ingame for real money would basically be selling stuff you don't own, aka stealing edit: "Complicated Acquisition" it's a very standart concept for games nowadays, so that people can't make profit out of other peoples games, at least not legally and uncontrolled, hence why gold sellers in games like WoW or any other type like that are considered an offense of the terms of service i mean, if you had a muffin shop, someone strolls in and buy ALL of your muffins just to sell them for a higher price in your store, or uses your muffin-making-machines (really stretching the example here) to make muffins themselfes, and sell them at a lower price than yours, would you let them do that?

first time i hear geometric occlusion, the only principle i could grasp was culling, any videos, wiki articles on this? google let me down this time...
-
i think the problem was that the server was thinking you are on the top of the stairs at one moment ~ lag ~ server sees you downstairs server: "oh boy he went down there that fast? must've been falling down, let's see... oh yep, you are dead buddy" like someone allready sugeested, vault when being on top of the stairs and vault again when downstairs, afaik the server actually thinks that you fell from the roof or warped through the wall and fell outside of the outer wall instead of taking the lower door at least thats what me and my buddys saw when one of us was dieing from stairs again, most of the time it looked like they warped through the wall and the body was outside
-
have you thought about throwing it down? :D ok, nvm, was allready suggested xD
-
A game is not a noodle-soup which can be expected to be finished after exactly 5 minutes of cooking there are dozens of things that can go wrong, especially when you are digging around in about ten year old code edit: that said, i'd love to see the new renderer to be out for testing asap, so i can maybe run DayZ decently on my machine again, depending on the performance increase that may come with it
-
Everybody watching Walking Dead knows that a crossbow or bow gives you an instant +10 on badassery, and you can craft your own ammo, not that that would be needed right now, but maybe once loot gets scarcer ;)
-
well, just adding more players to the server won't help anything though, because then the warfare at Cherno/Bere/Elwktro/NWAF will just grow bigger, every other place will be just as empty as ever the problem isn't "too few players on the map", allthough with how big they made the map the player density sure went down, the problem is that getting to high risk loot locations is way to easy once the stamina system is in, the player movement speed is lowered, and cars are getting more of a meaning, just as survival actually being difficult would really help the gameplay to be something else than a black and white between running simulator and non-stop shootout
-
why should anyone be punished for that? if anything you should be punished for sprinting all the time, sweating a lot would increase the range at which zombies can smell you, moving fast makes you easier to see and to hear, camping is the smart thing to do, just because it's boring and doesn't require anything but patience, it shouldn't be punished... i don't want dayZ to become another game with bunnyhopping firefights where everybody tries to avoid bullets by sprinting around like a headless chicken while hipfiring, turning rate and speed are way to high as it is, and needs to be turned down

i'm in your boat, for a decent survival game, there would be a map from the size of Altis required to make cars actually important, just like getting food and water from natural resources would be way more important on a larger map the map of chernarus was fine as it is, and in my opinion allready pretty damn small and crowded for building a camp or even just a barrel anywhere and not have it found in a few days and they even added more and more little towns and more buildings, you can basically go nowhere without seeing buildings on the horizon somewhere right now hiding stuff is pretty okay, but once helos are coming, camps or hidden storage in woods will be a thing of the past, since it's just to easy to spot stuff in the woods from above, this was a big problem in the mod as well Sure, bigger maps mean less interaction with players, but i would be fine with that, i also was fine with Chernarus in the mod having a limit of about 40 players, it was playable, since you had certain hotspots (just like you have now) the thing missing from dayz, and i think everyone can agree with me on that, is the actual need to survive, it's way to easy to survive , the only thing kinda hard to do is getting a very good gun (and even that is not nearly hard enough right now) i hope the devs are going to add in more of a survival feel later, rght now i have nothing making me want to play DayZ over the old Stalker games + misery mods... because that is really hard to survive i certainly hope the devs are working on the new renderer first though, and that it will bring decent culling with it, i can look over many many bugs and immersion breaking things, but not being able to play in a city because of 10fps is making it just impossible to play the game for me this wasn't supposed to be a rant btw, i know the devs are working hard, i just hope they are done adding content soon and can start optimizing the game, because the game is awesome despite all it's little flaws Take a look at the Celle map for Arma2, the woods there were made really really good and pretty damn realistic for Arma standarts, but forrests with exclusively needled trees do look way more barren and more like in chernarus than they do in miscreated, but with way more undergrowth

DayZ staff/devs/Bohemia show their love.
ZomboWTF replied to ☣BioHaze☣'s topic in General Discussion
my PC is four years old, cost 500 € and DayZ is the only game i can't play at 60 fps, and i own MGS V, Fallout 4, Armored Warfare etc. if you say that i need to buy a completely new PC for ONE game, sry, not happening i know optimizations will be made sometimes, but i fear they wont make it much better hell, i can run Arma 3 just fine, but Dayz kicks the bucket once i see a town on the horizon... and seeing people complaining about less than 20 fps in the technichal issues subforum with an FX 8350 and GTX 980 is not really making me feel good about buying a new PC just to get the same bad performance :-/ it would be a shot in the dark -
bump so this isn't forgotten very good read, i think very few people actually use the bugtracker right
