Yeah, it would at least counter ghosting, i really really hate that, though its great against snipers in electro (killing snipers with axes is fun) and if they somehow manage to let zombies run in buildings, zombies would actually be a threat again without having olympic speeds -
I'd also like to see this weapon i the game, as a really rare spawn maybe just let there be a slightest chance (talking 0,01%chance or similar) for a random weapon of arma 2 to spawn, with three mags , and only in military spawns

well, you said it would fix people server hopping and logging off to loot and avoid zombies... they still can logg off and loot to avoid zombies... yeah, my ways of thinking are just so strange but your idea is a good start -

Actually you can run through towns and get good loot without waiting at spawns to reappear and spawn something decent, one run through electro/cherno and you can almost be sure to find a half decent primary and a pistol Also, when they logg off and the zombies wouldnt despawn, the players would still be far away from the zombies and out of danger, and could just run into the town again doing it all over It would also still be able to get into a new server, and ninja the town there, since everytime you logg out, you are out of danger almost instantly when having a longer logout timer in those areas, zombies could walk at you and eat you while you are not on the server anymore, except for really BIG buildings it would be good to have this in the game, but players would exploit it just like the current system -

agreed, first person is annoying with all the movement anyways, when in pain its just unbearable and costs a lot of fps, too -
just make a toolbox needed for setting up stuff, they are pretty rare and people wouldnt just spam wirefences right after spawning

no, i dont snipe people in elektro, but i see my mates running through towns and not caring about zombies following them, i see that they log out to despawn the zombies, and to then get the loot with your mechanic they would just run through a town like crazy, checking every enterable house, and when in actual danger or when they found good loot, they take it, and log out they respawn out of danger, and thats it, the can do it again as many times as they want to and why are my suggestions a bad idea? i heard nothing from you in that direction yet -

but it would fix this with two easy tweaks, let me guess: you love to logg out while in danger right? lol.... (btw i am FOR this addition, but with the things i mentioned earlier you could also get rid of people logging out in combat whilst in cities and logging off to get away from zeds) -

no, even if a player engages you, you logg out and are in safety, it needs some punishment for ligging out in some of those areas, or you'd just see people running in and logging out, rince & repeat why would this be bad? (earlier post) When a player loggs out in a spawn mover area, let the master server denie him for 10 minutes the character data additionaly, characters from players logging off in a spawn mover area remain in the game for one minute for everyone to kill or shoot them -

Maybe we could find a solution to this: A long timer when you logg off, and a 10 min master server denial When logging out anywhere except in a forrest or wilderness whilst sitting down, your character remains 1 minute in the world and you get a 10 minute denial to load your character data That gives people enough time to get away when someone loggs out in combat, and makes server hopping in buildings take a long time also, maybe do something like this: if(player is in forrest or wilderness) then{saved character position = current character position} else{dont change character position} that way, people couldnt spawn in buildings or near citys, they cant log out in a town when in danger because of the one minute timer (they can, but will likely be eaten or shot), and people cant flank by moving to a new spot on a new server (1 minute penalty x2 and you wouldnt spawn there anyway) also, the 10 minute timer makes looting a town and then logging off to spawn in the last forrest unattractive -

I'm for the server-side saved characters, would solve server hopping and disconnecting, and even ghosting maybe a ten minute timer before you can get to another server and actually keep your character, or something similar might work, too

Announcing your presence and to kill or not to kill

most of the time, i try to talk with them and not to shoot on sight, i recently dicovered direct chat + voice chat (50 meter radius and you can talk to that person) sometimes though, i tend to shoot on sight: 1)I have good gear on me and dont want to risk it (like a coyote backpack + M24 or something) 2)The player has good gear and trusts me, and i have an axe or cheap pistol/enfield 3)The player seems to be tricking me 4)The player is a camper on a roof or similar camping spot and i have an enfield/CZ550 -

fix: matches should spawn way more often, with meat you can regain a LOT of blood (a cow gives 6400 blood if my math is right) a rabbit 1000 blodd etc... just dont fight with below 9k blood, that is all (<3 my axe) -

the map is not made for the mod, thats why most of the buildings arent enterable, when the map was made it was with a large scale war simulator in mind, and house-combat plays not much of a role there when its not in a large city -
So yesterday, i needed to install a new beta patch, 94201, and wanted to join a server requiring the version 1.60.94201 (1.60 with beta 94201) I ticket the beta field in the options menu of the six launcher, and the game started However, the version always said 1.60, and i couldnt join the server requiring the version with beta i had to manually install the beta over steam (using steam, starting as A2:CO and copying the arma2oa.exe from the beta folder into the main folder) the problem is that, if i need to install a new beta patch, i now need to manually install it (since the six launcher OR the six updater both dont do it right) and copy the file over to the main folder, and since it seems nowadays that every two hours a new beta patch comes out, GNHAAA so please, if servers require the correct beta, make it update right with six launcher or six updater

the server browser is just from arma II, the could change the six launcher though, seeing the time on servers would be VERY usefull

well, you can find all sorts of good stuff in the beginning in elektro, just be sure not to exit the city to the north or go to the north fire station, snipers really like to sit there (why? no idea) just dont rely on that miliary stuff at the beginning, being greedy and without patience you'll die pretty quickly i only get to NWAF/NEAF/Stary when i have people with me

there are a few things to know about the arma engine with high ram and a decent graphics card: Ram: keep the setting "Video memory" on default, very high is 1gb i think, default detects the right setting) disable post processing effects select the same resolution for your 3d and itnerfce resolution (best is native) if your graphics card is decent, select shadows "high" never normal, normal and lower will run shadows over CPU, from high upwards the GPU will process shadows HDR can be turned to lowest with 3gb ram the textures shouldnt be a problem, but try setting object and terrain details on low/very low (especially the object details eat fps like crazy) every guide to arma2/dayz performance i've read told me to turn off anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering to normal or low, anti aliasing isnt that great anyways also, almost every guide says to shut off vsync, dont kno why, but it helped me from around 25fps to 50 here
