    too bad the logout block was removed when getting zombie aggro, also having 120 meters max zombie aggro range leaves snipers even safer than they actually allready were however, the rest looks good, keep up the good work

    What do they mean by "Completely redone"?

    Seeing the latest dev posted video of them recording zombie movements using MoCap, i bet they will make it a LOT better than the mod just browse the net for changes, or look in youtube for the video with the clothing stuff at the beginning, it shows a lot of the new stuff on the map and interiors of some new houses (actually new interiors of old houses) in chernarus they also mentioned that they will be open to people submitting new maps and stuff afaik, which sound awesome to me
  3. i'd love to actually have to use the pump action on the remmigton, but i dont think it's that important would be nice though to have all the guns performing closer to their real life counterparts, for example the enfield, M24 and CZ550 which have a bolt action, or as said the remington with a pump action

    How are helicopters realistic?

    So how would you make it harder to do? i mean, actually flying, not this damn startup stuff from Take on Helicopters people are discussing about... i dont want to have 5 minutes time lost to start that damn thing the controls of the helicopter seem fine to me, maybe repairing one should be harder, but you can't really make flying even more difficult without having to assign too many buttons or exclude people without a joystick flying a helo saying things are bad is easy, giving ideas on how to make things better is a bit harder to do
  5. being the underdog is always fun it's way to easy to kill a group if you have the upper hand right from the beginning sneaking into their camp, where probabl one or two satchel charges are stored, placing them all around the camp and blowing them up when they come back... that is real FUN
  6. it used to be f***ing impossible to hide them, since any other helicopter pilot and people getting into range would get the big white indicator for a few hundret meters of being near to a helicopter, now you can hide them pretty good in forrest areas, especially if the ground in that area has a dark color, since the huey itself is green-brownsh looking and actually pretty hard to spot on the ground

  9. how about "paranoia" I think theres a sniper in the middle of nowhere in that treeline, it HAS to be, because theres an open field, and everyone wanting to snipe here would snipe exactly at the spot i'm at, OMG DODGERUN!

  12. again, the arma engine thinks the players are soldiers in bulletproof vests, in which case a 7.62 would make more damage than a 5.56 i guess, because of the penetration aspect depending on the sort of body armor, it may even be that only 7.62 can penetrate and other round "just" knock you out, however: this thread is primarily about the aspect of handgungs being completely useless in fights against players if the have a primary weapon also the arma engine goes as far as to say a headshot is dead, bodyshot is damage, legs/arms equals broken limbs and less damage from that point of view, they should dramatically increase the sidearm damage, bringing the 9x19 and .45 almost on par with the 5.56, since against soft targets a 9mm an be even more devastating than a 5.56, not penetrating the target, but having a superior wound channel the .45 goes without saying it's underpowered, there is no gun with .45 rounds that can kill a person with one magazine in dayz, waitwhat?

    this giving the players functioning m4 and m16 variant though they are jammed by lying in dirt for half an hour... you get the picture i wouldn't shed a tear if all those fn fal, as 50 m107 M4 and M16 variants would all be super-rare and only in high military loot to find, as well as the accurate military sniping rifle m24, or at least if they would need repairing parts to function again odds are it would be pretty hard to find even a AKM or another AK variant if such a disaster were to occure, not to mention finding a functioning one (though the AK rifles are very sturdy)
  15. the problem with that is the hit registration, i've had one time sniping with a CZ, hitting a player right between the eyes, i literally saw the blood coming out of his forehead, yet he just turned around like "na, bro, i'm leaving!", running away... and pretty much every 7.62 and higher gun could be one-shot just as well, it knocks people out when hit in the chest anyway the most terrible thing about the guns though is the power of the low-calibre rounds, like .45 (yeah, low calibre, lol) 9x18, 9x19 and the AK74 rounds are just so weak it's not even funny i hope they at least sort it out for the standalone, especially the accuracy of the weapons, since we really don't play as soldiers, but as survivors

    You would kill someone on sight who is not killing you on sight because people tend to kill people on sight? wait what? I normally run around in a team of three, and since zombies are a player indicator, you can easily get the jump on them in cities, and then i wait till i see them and my two buddies are near, if he doesnt answer or tries to attack us/run away, he is dead every single time, since we have the advantage of knowing where he is, while he only hears a voice and sees one of the three of us larger groups we tend to attack or ignore, but single people are easy to deal with in that kind of way when the person cooperates and drops all his guns, he is given a free run in a direction we dont want to go without any shot in the back

    i still would like to have a new item like a rope or handcuffs found in military bases to disarm a player entirely if you can strangle a person and he is knocked out, what would stop you from using something to tie his hands and feet and shove him into your car? you can allready do this, you just have to hit someone with a 7.62 gun from close range and can carry them aound and do pretty much everything with them, just that if you stop your car while they get concious again they can just hop out like nothing ever happened with some way to restrain someone this would be a great idea, but without it becomes "just shoot everyone on sight who is closer than 20 meters"

    well with metal scraps a tin can and a handgrenade, i'd say pretty much every person could make a boobie or wire-trap would be a way to protect your shit from those lone-wolfs running through miles of forrest searching for tents

    i also dont know people taking 8 makarov bullets like a champ there are borders where the game beceomes unplayable, right now on vanilla dayz there are NO cars in the towns, every single car is hidden in god-knows-where, mainly the border woodlands, and good luck getting there when you have to stop running for a minute every 5 minutes

    15 FPS on dayz, 50 fps on arma 2?

    The fps hit in dayz is because your pc is the one calculating the zombie AI afaik, also the loot and zombie spawns when you enter an area
  23. wtf? only AKM and harder hitting weapons kill with less than 4 shots you can only kill a person with one magazine with the M9 or G17 or PDW in the handguns section, the m1911 needs 10 shots afaik, just like the revolver all m4 and m16 variants need 4 shots, the AK74 variants and the m4sd variants need 5-6 shots to kill depeding on range especially the .45 firing weapons had a huge nerf, you used to be able to kill people with two revolver shots, now it's 10 shots... wtf? the weapon damage got adjusted by an arma patch and was totally dorked from that on, since it seems to be simulating the bullet damage when someone has a bullet-proof vest on and is a bad-ass soldier trained for gun combat and extreme pain mitigation i guess everyone writing in this forums would drop from 1 makarov shot and not be able to move anymore out of sheer pain, depending on the section hit, including me also guns are way to accurate for the people using it in the mod, an untrained dude firing an AS50 and landing a headshot from 800 meters away? people firing and hitting targets from the hip at 100 meters? lol
