    i doubt this will stay like it is now also with the "entire ammo stack ruined" thing, which is only avoidable through using a bug atm a single bullet cant possibly destroy more than three items in a backpack, or a full ammo box worth of ammo maybe in this stage it is too excessive on server performance use to make bullets only hitting a single object in the backpack, or randomizing which storage slot gets hit, or it is not important for the devs right now, which i would understand

    well, if you insist on me posting a video of you shooting someone, i can't give you that but YOU know that you posted BS up above saying you "never shot anybody" and if you don't give a flying something, like you said, then just stop answering? however-back on topic killing people to survive is legitimate, if you see them as a threat, do so, just don't be a paranoid guy killing everything on 500 meters, though it's also okay in my eyes to kill someone if you need food or drink, and they might have some, especially if you are around coast parts where everything is allready looted from time to time, i even kill coastiey, if they behave strangely, they still have their fists, and maybe some people over Teamspeak ambushing you, so i strictly denie coastlets following me when i can spare stuff however, i ask them if they need it

  4. do you know what atm means? at the moment the mod has way better functionality, and i was not referring to breaking point, but DayZ the mod vanilla mod, not breaking point
  5. Do you want for an employee of Bohemia interactive to post on the forum, stopping his work, and writing to you that everything is gonna be all right? would that make you happier? or would it be more usefull if he would actually work on fixing the bug?
  6. it is pretty hard to judge right now if you hit someone, but normally impacts on clothed people aren't visible anyway, only through their reaction to it but it's far from gamebreaking, and this is still an alpha, an open alpha yes, but still an alpha, and nobody needs to get angry about this, as it will be fixed someday if you expect for an alpha to be without errors, go play gothic 2 for eight hours, come back to dayz, and be glad this is still an alpha and not a finished product
  7. you mean in contrast to the DayZ game at the moment? oh-kay.... try the dayz mod, its better atm... though its kind of hard to find a good vanilla server without barracks every 10 meters

    MHH, can't really make a choice there, are those people totally oblivious of you, or do you stand in an open field and they run towards you? if anyone with a ranged weapon sees me, i try to kill him, or go for cover and wait for his reaction, but if they are just running past, why shoot? i am fully geared and they won't do me harm, as they can't see me when i am with my squad thats another thing (they all go KoS), but solo i normally play friendly

    the KOS mentality changed me a bit, but i don't kill someone that is not a threat to me meaning that idiots who raise up their fists in my vicinity die, too when meeting people with weapons that appear hostile, or if the area is a high loot area or a high traffic area, i hide their bodies, i don't want that a guy can just re-arm at his former self and thet go hunt me down also, when i find weapons, with their ammo next to it, i take the ammo everything that could be a thereat gets killed, no mercy, no sorry but if someone complies, and is not aggressive, i try to help them if i can spare food or water, or bandages, or a melee weapon sure, this got me killed a few times, but the conversation is worht it, and you can meet quite the funny bunch of people you might otherwise have shot it helps to not go to berezino, too but i really liked the mod in it's early days the most...

    Would you like spawn points spread out?

    Spawning should be possible everywhere that is more then a kilometer away from a house, and more then 4 kilometers away from where you died i want my old berezino back, now new berezino is zelenogorsk and elektro is... well its dead, really with berezino being the new elektro of course as long as there is ANY concentration of spawnpoints, there will be a major deathmatch area, especially with all the mike tyson's out there knocking you out in two swift swings, because you can just run back to your dead former self, or know almost exactly where your enemies still are, which is so absolutely stupid meta game it's not funny anymore

    rightfully so you can't slice through a human being with one swing, and the downside of axe weapons is that they can very easily get stuck in the victim if you hit a bone gotta go check out experimental now i guess...

    One handed bladed weapons ( Knives ), Too weak?

    i found stabbing weapons really great for dealing with zombies, when you dont have a firefighter axe you have pinpoint accuracy, with a delay of course, but when hit in the head, the zombies get unconcious for a while aiming for the head in melee fights is very important even against players, a few days ago i fought against a boxer and an axe murderer with my baseball bat, and knocked both of them out, undressing them, and taking the axe, then breaking their legs with it... wow i am pretty f*cked up i guess...

Nope, this is definitely not needed guns and ammo are easy to come by as it is right now, no need for more easy PvP Also, guns and their ammo are never stored together, anyone with a little knowledge in that can tell you that here in germany, it is even forbidden to have a gun that is not properly locked away, with the ammo for the gun locked away seperately just imagine you want to take your gun out of its container, and you accidently pull the trigger: oops, you are dead besides the realism factor though: don't be so f*cking lazy
  16. I guess there are multiple factors, but i felt the same in the game (warning: wall of text ahead): 1. High random bullet spread: Far inferior to the extreme gun sway and very little bullet spread in Arma 3, which i prefer Gun Sway in Arma 3 keeps the skill cap high, while not forcing you to rely on luck if you hit that guy on 300 meters or if the bullet lands 5 meters next to him Especially enraging with the M4 without Magpul parts and the SKS, which is inaccurate as hell sometimes Also zoom factors are totally random: - PSU Scope: Normal zoom factor (as if long right clicking without ADS) - ACOG: No clue what zoom is on that - LRS: DMR from Arma 2 - Iron sight: worse than zooming in without a gun (???why???) plus you can adjust scope zoom with the FOV slider :wacko: 2. Desync Has anyone ever fought a guy with an Axe in an apartment building randomly glitching through almost every single wall, making it impossible for you to shoot him while he actually just makes a beeline in the corridor on his screen? It is f*cking ridiculous That is also why you see people constantly flashing through walls of buildings for a second, btw 3. Camouflage Just find green stuff, theres nothing better, and there is a lot of it After a half hour of spawning, many people allready run around completely greenish, and you can even choose the green color for your starting gear... Maybe one of the smaller factors, but i think it is SO out of this world, and it makes it very hard to nigh impossible to spot people just proning in grass 4. Glitching through walls, wallglitching to see through buildings Just annoying, and you need to use the wallglitch right now because else people will have a major advantage over you

    well thats exactly the thing: it doesn't stop people from doing that if you see someone on elektro hill for example, and you would be a ghoster, you can take your sweet time, spawn 50 meters behind him so he doesnt hear your spawning sound, and roll soundlessly to the spot camping people camp for more than 5 minutes in dayZ, and a server change restriction is only making it taking more time okay, in shootouts, ghosting is not as good applicable as it was before, where basically your join time was the timer, but i think a real solution needs to be made: private hives for example the shared hive is a neat idea for casual DayZ players, but a private hive for a single server is pretty much THE thing to cancel out most of the meta-game

  21. a normal grnade would be pretty much enough for this type of situation, and looking at the devs mentioning throwing mechanics for the next patch... i doubt grenades will be in a galaxy far far away

    that number station just calls out the coordinates of all the deerstands in chernarus... can't wait for the walky-talkies having a use though story: take it or leave it, i dont' care, as long as game mechanics will stillbe implemented and the story doesn't introduce some stupid gimmicky stuff thats not needed

    that mechanic is why i love the shotgun, one shot and every piece the guy had is ruined, no need finish him off anymore, plus extra points if you broke his legs :D

    wait, i thought the M1911 uses .45ACP like the FN FX? i am finding these all day long while looking for more 9mm for my CZ75... the best sidearm though still is the revolver i guess, until M1911 mags are more common
