In the mod there were literally dozens of tent cities up in the northern part of the map at the dam, west of zelenogorsk, in black forest, and in forests all over the map, but mainly at the borders what would a tent storage which you can not lock accomplish in a hotspot area? pretty much everyone will find and loot it -

how about not getting killed in the first place? seriously, for the amount of "noob" you put into your post, i don't think you are that experienced in DayZ body retrieval is not exciting, you have nothing to lose when dieing and are running like a mad man to a position where you may get killed again, high risk/high reward meta-game at best hide body was in the mod in the eraly days, and how is it killing DayZ if it is in from the very beginning, defining DayZ as what it is? why on earth should someone stranded on a foreign island in a zombie apocalypse know where a highly geared dead person is, and run to it in a straight line? it makes no sense whatsoever both realistically and in a gameplay standpoint death should mean something

i guess many people have no idea how much work it takes to program something these people clicked "yes, i understand" but didn't really understood what they were buying the dayZ dev team does a great job, here and there are bugs that ruin the game as it is now, but it is an alpha, and not finished, so people can't blame the devs, only themselves

well, if you stay on servers with 30 or 40 player cap that gets a restard every two hours, you should be fine the problem is that the server-client stuff with arma's engine was always a little wonky

i once looted an apartement building and found a bottle of alcohol on a sink, only having my pants, flashlight, battery and waterbottle, immediately tried to pick it up and looked at my char disbelieving he just drank that sh*t: because thats the default option if your inventory is full... and because there is no antidote to drinking pure alcohol yet, i just jumped off the building to save me some time -

do you tend to be near NEAF or berezino? also, on low-pop servers people like to do loot-runs, so vybor, zeleno and balota as well as NWAF milbases are sure to have visitors, especially on low-pop servers i myself only have encountered two hackers so far, and a lot of exploiters (ammo bug, wall glitches etc.) the hackers were a flying guy headshotting everyone and teleporting all over the map and th other had unlimited health, chasing me with an axe while eating 60 M4 bullets to chest and head -
yep, i miss the days of the mod where you could find an AS50 if you were lucky and just ended people... though the real thing was the M107, my all time favorite from those days, just sounded like a roaring lion^^ balance is important in CoD like games, in games where you have to actually work for getting a good gun balance has no need to be i just want my zeroing-on-800 meters dayz mod AKM please, with an attachable PSo scope and no random spray or "magic parts" like the M4

well, if it would be done client side, you should see nothing different if looking at a jumping player, the problem would only be when you yourself jump and get reset, making you an easy target i would be interested in what the update rate of the servers are currently, because of the whole "guy walks slightly around a corner but client whise never passed it" thing going on right now, seems like the update rate is once every 500 ms or less

There are plenty of "loot servers restart every 10 minutes" out there, guess i'll have to report some... a pretty big german DayZ clan i know also has one of these, and they even kick non-clan members of the server, to kill them during the 30 seconds logout you are forced to have and get your gear... f*ck meta-gaming -
sorry, but i dont want f*cking bunny hopping bullet-dodging freaks everywhere it's bad enough with the desync the DayZ engine brings i wouldnt be against some climbing abilities though, at places like the broken stairs in the apt. buildings or low roofs someone able to do a pull-up would be able to go to edit: if they would make the jump we currently have client-side, it's okay, but please no bunny hoppers

as far as i am concerned it seems to me like the apocalypse has happened a few months before, so body parts would definitely be eaten by animals or decayed by now a few houses burned down or ruined is fine, but then where should the loot be? i always thought chernarus has been one of the more lucky towns where the military packed everything and got away with as many survivers as possible, evacuating who they can, leaving the area unpopulated and pretty unharmed why should houses do spontane cumbustions just because there are zombies walking outside? everyone here should know that the only thing worse than a zombie coming towards you is a burning zombie coming towards you

i guess since the M4 spreads like a shotgun normally would, i guess the AKM will only be usefull in city and CQC situations, sadly or they introduce some mechanic that magically makes the weapon inaccurate when having a 75 round drum clip (which to some extend might be reasonable, carrying 75 rounds of 7.62x39 may be quite heavy, though i have never shot a gun besides an air rifle and suck at it, so...) i really really dout it will be as good as the SKS, which is my favorite gun by far

well, since we do have a big-ass radio tower in chernarus, and walkie talkies are still in the spawn pool, i guess sooner or later, i will make my very on radio station with unlimited range ZZ Top for everyone

no, if you have ruined ammo or gun, that wont affect the damage you do, just if you can shoot or not, right? thats major desync, some servers just crank up players to 50 though to have a good experience 30 is way more playable arma 3 wasteland servers have desync like this, to, but ALL THE TIME

i once wanted to pick up a bottle of alcohol, but forgot i allready had all my slots full, so the standart action was "drink"... facepalm followed by jumping off a cherno apartement followed shortly after, but it was kind of funny

maybe they think that people playing zombie games for hours on end need advise on how to meet "real" people? i always thought that meeting people that handcuff you and shoot you in the head in games is enough for my taste, no need to meet those in RL xD edit: though the handcuffing part can also go in a good direction

The possibility is there, there are arma 2 maps way bigger than chernarus, the real problem is to fill the map with enough people so it wont be to empty right now the map is allready extremely empty once you go away from berezino/NEAF, yesterday i was in chernarus without anyone else but zombies, and all loot still there... i just hope this will get better when tents, storage and cars are brought into the game -
1 bullet = everything in backpack destroyed!
