How to tell if a person is dead or unconcious

also the unconsious person has the upper right arm part directly at his chest, while the dead one has the right arm showing away from his upper body helps if people "fall" through walls and you can't see their lower body will only work though if the dead guys allready clicked respawn -
IMO the bow and crossbow should make far more damage and have far more bone breaking potential than a 7.62 bullet i guess a 7.62 wound must hurt like i couldn't comprehend, but at least there is no wood in your muscle which breaks when you move it, resulting in splinters tearing up your flesh... while steel bolts should have a far higher damage value because of the higher mass, a wooden arrow would cripple you far more i guess, but i really have no idea how it actually behaves but since people tend to go on deer hunt with compound bows and crossbows, and they kill their prey with one shot, i guess an arrow or crossbow bolt should do about the same damage and at least one-hit knock you out, which would make it an ideal weapon for stealth bandits and/or heroes trying to approach people without being in danger i really would love a ranged weapon that has a one-hit long knock-out timer without killing someone directly

I think many people have some weird thoughts here... You SHOULD have a delay of at least 10 seconds before being able to control your character, while your character should allready be visible in-game Why? because ghosters, thats why I don't want to have a firefight, camping in a safe house where all entrances are shut, while someone spawns in the same house, without a sound mind you (because for some reason they removed that), and shoots you down before you even have a chance to react (if his hive connection was fast enough) that is just unfair metagame right there, there should be a log-in sound different from every in-game sound (like a door opening or something else) when your character gets into the game, then, a 10-30 second delay should be placed while you are visible and killable in the game the mod had a similar delay, and i think it is going to be in the game after the alpha or beta, as it should be really, just log out somewhere safe, and mind that you are logging in STANDING, no matter what stance you had while logging out

Could you post a link where in the dev tracker this is written? Would be really awesome to have properly working zombies, waiting for that since the mod on day 1

The main reason i don't use the Crossbow is because of the ammo it is unbelievably hard to find, crossbow bolts lying on the floor are very hard to see for me if we could craft wooden bolts... that would be a whole other story still, the damage output combined with the fire rate is not worth it IMO and last time i used it, every sight except for iron sights had some zeroing issues

The mod has more to offer, yet the Standalone will have more in-depth mechanics (look at the M4 for example) and overall i think the standalone will be far better optimized once it's finished The Standalone needs people testing it and giving feedback for faster development, so i play it and give my feedback thats what an alpha is for

yeah, even if i know that it is an alpha right now, this bug has persisted for far too long, it makes you paranoid, and later ignorant to sounds at all aside from footsteps and shots

pff yeah, way to want an even more exploitable game... go on a server, having one char full equipped and the second as a coasty go to place A, get gear easy because of full equip, drop gear at B switch character, go to place, B, viola! your char is now equiped or, even better, just have you second char be a backup berezino deathmatch character, so you can show those darn guys who totally had the right to shoot you, but now you know where they are and can get back right at them with all your gunz this is not an arcade shooter stop wanting to kill what makes this game different

what he says If you don't want to get shot down, don't be in Berezino i only go there with my squad to pvp and piss clan server owners off it's weird how nobody complained about cherno/balota being a big hotspot back in the days when you spawned there weird... the grass on the other side is always greener...

agreed, arma 3 does this WAAAAY better, make the gun sway and random sway way higher, to almost uncontrollable levels when walking and ADSing, but let the bullets actually hit where they should of course, real guns also have some more or less random deviation, because the bullet has some play in the barrel, which is needed for the bullet to fit through, but this is SO minimal, that even with a crappy gun, where maybe you dont have the sights zeroed the right way, once you know where you hit relative to the iron sights, you should be able to take accurate shots to about 300-400 meters without magicpull parts fix the guns. they were good in arma. they should be good in DayZ. -
while there are places to loot guns at around, i will shoot even these guys with dm_berezino being a get-killed-and-instantly-run-to-your-corpse area, i will literally shoot EVERYTHING thats not in my squad

i don't really know what you mean with "control" a helo landing is very visible, and no suprise attacks are possible when landing next to other players also, helicopters are a great end-game which everyone had fun in the mod with if they make them as hard to fly, or nearly as hard to fly, as in take on helicopters, i guess there would be way less "map controlling" the only thing a helicopter is stupidly good at is finding camps in the middle of nowhere, they would need to fix the "trees without leafes from above" problem i also don't think that you will be able to refuel a helicopter somewhere else but the airfield, afaik helicopters don't run on gas, meaning you are very exposed to ambushes in conclusion: they would need to make the helicopter way harder to maintain and operate, and also require very obvious refueling points (maybe only NWAF?), but i would really really miss them

Oh yes, vehicles that are immune to bullets, have a gun on top, and can drive people over even without ammo i couldn't possibly see how this could be exploited in a weird way... i really don't think tanks would add to the gameplay, and i don't know if tanks are operable by an every-day-guy also, there is allready wasteland doing this, and when (or if) the moddability comes to DayZ, this sure will be possible with arma 2 tanks right now i would be glad if we had normal cars or bikes, and the running toned down a bit personally i would like to keep the survival feeling of dayz, and don't need to worry about carrying an RPG with AT ammo all the damn time because there is a tank rolling around in chernarus i guess a vodnik with tires you can shoot and without a gun would be okay, but full-on tanks.... meh

i allready gave you an answer and you blatantly ignored it and just said "thats not right" try actually arguing next time however: all things that are in meat can be switched with other things, like soja, the main reason why meat is so high in nutrition is it's proteins if i am correct, which is also in soj and many other i think southpark even made a episode about that, something with rescuing cows and one of them getting "vaginitis" ^^

just repeating your thesis doesn't validate it... and to eat meat(human or animal), you have to actually hunt or kill them(human or animal), so these topics are indeed related... if you dont want to get food poisoning that is you may try again (edit: is that guy for real or trolling?)

so are shooting guns and being pacifistic if you look at it in that way, though do you expect buddhism monks to shoot an AKM into the air just for enjoyment? the subjects are very related, though they are different actions or can you tell me a case where you can get good meat to eat on a regular basis without killing an animal at all?

well if you are against eating meat, that normally implies that you have something against animals getting KILLED for your enjoyment if you now go ahead and KILL people for pure enjoyment while being a vegetarian, you are a specieist (like racism but hating different species, humans in this case, rather than different races) or you suffer a minor case of major brain damage edit: though in case of just don't liking the taste of meat, it is totally understandable to be a psychopathic murderer and at the same time a vegetarian

many people buy servers to turn the odds towards them Not so long ago me and my buddys were reporting a server for kicking non-DBK members and killing them while in the log-off animation, as well as restarting the server when someone died with a lot of gear or restarting the server when the military spawns are all looted though it was fun to meta-game back through setting our names to DBK something something and pretending to be clan members afterwards xD

how about just letting zombies generally be attracted to dead bodies, spawning a few of them when no zombie is around a dead player, and then begin to eat them? gear is ruined, no gear takeback after dead KoS will have to hurry to retrieve loot people will think twice about dieing also your character is NOT resistant to the zombie virus, since you still have a minor chance to get infected and die when a zombie hits you http://dayzdb.com/guide/11-standalone-status-effects (brain flu)
