this is an older bug, sound generally is pretty f-ed up right now, rocket said it was the last thing on the roadmap afaik

usually the official servers are the best, without active admins, as admins normally abuse the sh*t out of their power once private hives are a thing... we'll see

well, there is no way to fight abusive admins other than reporting the servers, get used to it when enough reports like these are made, the servers will be shut down, instantly if it is a no join kick server i have reported a few server myself recently, everytime with good feedback (especially from vilayer)

i really doubt that 3rd person will be available for any mode, if it will, i'll go hardcore only, but it would break the immersion for me too drastically however, you are basically right, client side zombie spawns will not be in the game, and the graphics i hope will get fixed helis will not be as powerfull in SA as in the Mod, also i guess they will be far far FAR harder to maintain -

who are you kidding, the people that bought the game that had so MANY warnings about not being finished will come back when the game hits beta, and then when it's released even more so it's because of the curiosity of people -
in that regard, you would need basebuilding plus private hives, because nothing is worse than server migration for permanent base-building and maybe then will you have any chance of this becoming reality the problem with that is, that you can easily survive without farming, base-building and just stealing from others, and you can change your ingame name, suddenly be the friendliest hero guy on earth when a few minutes ago you were a KoS psychopath Epoch is pretty much a killfest right now, even worse KoS than standalone, just with bases and helicopters, and bulletproof SUVs with miniguns on top O.o

except bandits in DayZ are nowadays identical with KOSers in the Dayz players mind, in which case all the "locals" which are mostly zombies, would be dead what should the locals tell you anyway? "Yeah, he was a guy, and he had a rifle... and green clothes..."

it's not early access, it's an open alpha and even if you meant that, i don't think you are aware at all what that means software developement does not work like building a house, it doesn't get gradually better until it's finished, there are leaps of quality, both up and down during the developement time, because (don't get shocked by that one) things actually need to be tested in an alpha, tested if they are good, bad, performance, server-client stuff etc. gaming quality and developement time have no proportional behavior -
Yep, the only way to regulate KOS is to KOS the KOSers and not KOS the not-KOSers and coastal spawns that way you might make people think how nice it can be to actually talk to people There was a bandit system in DayZ Mod, and there is a buddy system in wasteland the only thing these things are used for is to identify enemies faster so you can shoot faster, end of story.

don't know if i'm just lucky, but a 400 meter (not yards, thats 360 meters) shot with the SKS + PSU scope was possible for me, nailed someone at the berezino supermarket shooting from the top floor of the building site, could've been a lucky shot though, with the random bullet spread (which is totally balls btw) and the annyoing broad aiming crosshair from the PSU scope hiding your target beyond 300 meters regular shots at about 235 meters (port crane to the police station roof in berezino) are pretty easy game talking non-moving targets of course, hitting moving targets at that distance without impact points is near impossibru

can't tell if serious or trolling SKS dominates the M4 in almost every way besides clip size, and can pick off people from 400 meters easily also, ammo is very very common, almost as common as 7.62x51mm

I guess the CZ550 from the mod is just like the Mosin is right now, with some drawbacks as to finding ammo for it like it's been the currency in Chernarus and the precision being a bit less Everything else is just as the CZ was, 5 rounds, 7.62x51mm (though the CZ technically had another calibre, it was just a M24 reskin in Arma 2) instant knock-out capability and a very good look, plus the decency to have a low rate of fire (f*ck the DMR)

The .22 ammunition as well as the .45 ACP ammunition both do not make sonic booms they both are very well suited for silencers (FNX and .22 Amphibia) which are the only silencers in the game to date The M4 ammo goes beyond sonic speed, but thats not a silencer, it's a supressor

magnum, doesn't need a clip and plenty of ammo to find, plus being the highest-calibre and most accurate sidearm afaik

so you say ghosting is bad, that ghosting should be dealt with by the login-sound, but you should totally be still able to shoot people right after ghosting without a delay? i don't get your point

aside from the lore, i would think it would be a cool mechanic but the "hide body" needs to stay until zombies can ruin gear when you die and respawn, or else spawned weapons would never leave the games cycle once they are picked up or we will actually be able to remove vital parts of a weapon to make it disfunctional (like the primer)

This would pretty much destroy my ability to play the game From Monday to Fryday, i only have 2 hours max to play this game, and i dont want to lose my gear just because some people without jobs can play longer and don't need to get to sleep or work at a specific time Losing gear in dayz is pretty final, you need to start all over again, while in rust you can respawn at your sleeping bag or something similar (never played it) Getting to full gear again can take up to 5-6 hours, depending on luck and without server hopping/killing a geared player

i thought these unlimited ammo stacks were made with a glitch using the protector cases and 300 round cases, something with taking ammo out of a mag in the protector case or something... guess i was mis-informed then

That implies that the major part of the community knows what they want my experience says otherwise the majority of people playing dayZ Standalone is people hearing from how "awesome" the mod was and expecting something like other triple-A developer games, which i mostly identify as feces in dvd-shape also, a major part of the community has no idea how much time test-driven development, or even software development can take if you are working with a larger team and with quality ensurance, together with an art department and some consumer analysts who all three think different things -
there are many admins out there allready misusing the few tools they are given restarting servers to hope for an admin killed getting his gear back kicking players then killing them while they are in the logout animation kicking players because they aren't in the same clan banning i have not encountered yet, the problem is: with more power for the admins, more abuse will be made and btw: that m4 and SKS ammo "hack" is an exploit, not a hack, banning for that may get your server reported, though i hate ammoglitchers, too, just an informative warning when private hive are coming out, i will probably host one, since i don't trust anyone else to be a legitimate admin and not abusing the admin powers
