    The small wooden houses with the bedroom where you can duck and go out the window has no loot anymore though, used to have an ammopack spawn almost everytime

    The thing is not that it will take extra work to implement extra ammo types, it will become less probable to find the ammo type you need with every ammo type you are introducing and with the loot "system" that is currently in place, only spawning stuff once per server restart, you are basically f*cked if you are finding a weapon and no ammo for it has spawned on the whole server or only at the other side of the map

    i really would like a harsher damage model, right now 5.56mm and 7.62x51mm are way off damage wise at least i dont think i could take 5-6 STANAG rounds to the chest and still run like a champ hell, one round would leave me cryng on the floor, if i still was concious

    what about people wanting to use the oculus rift in the future? or people with massive PC monitors? you can get a fov advantage without a fov option, and a disadvantage when using a smaller monitor the borders of the adjustment of fov should be tightened a bit, but completely locking them to 70° or 65° would be too harsh imo also, you dont only get advantages through fov adjustments, if you set it too high, you might miss distant targets, if you set it too low, you might oversee the guy flanking your position and with the broad spectrum of the fights in DayZ, from 1-2 meters up to 600-700m, i would like to keep the approach of a fov slider

    solution to the fov thing would be easy: make all scopes 3d-models with magnification well not that easy at all, but games from years ago managed 3d scopes to magnify, why not an engine that is under developement anyway? scope overlays are so yesterday, it's not even funny anymore... though deep inside i know the devs will never change this...
  9. i miss pobeda dam... it was my favorite place to make a camp around, a great place to meet up with a clan or to set up ambushes if people were heading towards it

    The problem is differentiating between real heroes and bandits exploiting the system if bandits can just stack up on humanity like they were able to in the mod, why even have the system in the first place? if people behaving like "heroes", why can't they kill players behaving aggressively who are not yet bandits without risking their hero status? this system was flawed and added nothing, just forget it it also wouldn't fit with the clothing system we have now if you meet someone who is not wearing all-green camo, he is likely to be a friendly, if not, he may be a loner or a bandit, which are both dangerous pretty simple if you ask me

    if a grenade kills at 200 meters of range, who would throw one in open terrain? i highly doubt you can throw something further than 200 meters... xD sure, some offensive shrapnel grenades could potentially hit your head with a nasty piece of metal, but thats very unlikely

    Actually, this is an ancient easter egg which is in every smoke stack of this kind it's not even from DayZ, Arma 2 has this easteregg, and they just copied the smokestack over to dayz

    yeah, i remember that one dayz mod where the zombies were kind of bugged but you could play with 70 people without any lag whatsoever, never heard of it again though...

    i hope the new engine will handle distance camouflage as well as arma does, few games have similar techniques without any insight to the new engine, i hope they will be able to re-use a lot of the old stuff or we will wait another year to get to the state we are currently in

    no, there is just a shitload of people making new threads for the same issues over and over again, ranting and shouting doom and disaster from the roofs because the last patch was two montsh ago the funny thing is, if they released a patch sooner and it was bugged like expermental is now, it would be even worse
