we really need more players, last saturday i was playing about 6 hours on a server with 40/40 all the time, except a few minutes after restart of course, and we travelled from NWAF down to zeleno, to the military base in the SW, then to Balota, and to Cherno, AND Elektro, and met only ONE other player, in elektro...

the REALLY need to make arrows craftable, sticks directly to arrows what practical reason does a craftable weapon have if it can't be used without a very rarely spawning item?

What clothes do you wear for fashion alone.

Black Motorcycle Helmtet, Black Tactical Shirt, no Vest, no Backpack, Black Cargo Pants, Black COmbat boots, Black Working Gloves and an AKM looks so badass, its not even funny anymore especially the black tactical shirt looks really awesome -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
ZomboWTF replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Go to youtube and search for "dayz standalone hacks super menu" there is an uncommented video from a hacker using some kind of menu to cheat in all kinds of items and wallhack / noclip / npc spawn etc. -
DayZ is far more optimized than you think tbh...
ZomboWTF replied to Esccapee's topic in General Discussion
The problem with arma performance is that all scripts running on the server are calculated by your machine aswell, afaik this was for example why all zombies from DayZ Mod disappear when you have spawned them and disconnected the engine arma is running on is just a complete mess, just try playing Arma 3 wasteland on altis... you will get one server synchronization about every second, making it hillarious to drive around in a car with some friends what amazes me is that every full 30 people server i am on i get about double the frames when compared to being on a full 40 people server in DayZ... -

Yes, the hacking is quite ourageous these days... especially wonderous how there are still 5 bazillion M4s around when they only spawn at heli crashes and heli crashes don't spawn in 0.46 at the moment afaik -
actually having items in your stuff makes you very slightly more vulnerable... at least that is what the DayZ science guy on youtube said note however, empty clothing does protect you quite a bit, wearing a tshirt and a pistol holster protects you just like a tactical shir and ballistic vest though... wtf?
-
for starters i would like doors to have a larger use radius first from time to time you are standing right before a door trying to find the "open" option... especially for outdoor gates and such

yes, but when the sprint speed is reduced and you can't sprint forever vehicles will actually mean something ;)

then it seems they really need to fix the netcode^^ the normal arma 2 timeout is 100 sec, after not receiving any kind of message from the client, the session should get killed hard, no arguing with the server... but the way it is now... i would rather have one or two char resets than people shitting over DayZ by duping everything they get their hands on... -
I still don't get why the dev team chose not to make the PSO-1 3D modelled, especially for a scope with zeroing mechanics... is it because they can't lock the zoom level when looking through or can't simulate magnifying glass?
-
very nice, and btw, just because you die often, that does not mean you suck... it's a sandbox game, if you play as a friendly player, you ARE gonna die over and over and over again (playing dark souls 1 and 2 helps to not care) i just can't bring myself to shoot people right off the bat just to get their gear if i don't need it, or they have no way of harming me this gets me killed often, but a k/d ratio is nothing you should ever care about in dayz, ever. just play the game your style

You will never be banned for a glitch or exploit by BattleEye, they only ban scripters who try to inject their scripts or try to hack otherwise i never needed duping, but i don't mind walking around hours in towns without meeting someone and just minding my own business... i generally don't like it when people are duping, especially if it is weapons and ammo, might as well just go play counterstrike when they do that they could just block people from logging in before their character session is over, that would fix the unconcious body dupe glitch instantly, but would take some time to set up i think -
that is only correct when you load the whole game directory into your RAM via RAMDisk...
-
don't bother buying a new pc just for DayZ yet wait for the game to get into beta stage at least Right now there are ye'olde arma 2 problems still in existence: namely server performance dictating your FPS and big cities being up to 400% more CPU intensive to render than small ones

Rocket makes statement about Navmesh/Zombies/Animals and Respawning
ZomboWTF replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I know that navmesh does not use raycast, but afaik they used raycasting to some extend to create the navmesh data in the first place ;) else you would have to create all the nodes per hand, which is not efficient -
CCSD (Chernarus Creapy Stuff Division) Black Forest Infestation Investigation:
ZomboWTF replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
I am going to travel to black forest today, note that i yesterday saw five zombies in a bunch at the Lake north of Stary, Prud, just in the forest line they all aggroed me and were taken down, as three zombies instantly came at me from behind, where the bush lines are killed them and made my way up north to the airfield, as ammo supplies got kind of low -
i am always torn between the mosin and the Blaze when not finding an SKS, but nothing goes above my beloved Samosarjadnij Karabin Simonowa

Confirmation - Legs break when picking up object
ZomboWTF replied to winkl_bottom's topic in General Discussion
pro tip is not to run in buildings except for the ground floor, ever. i always slow-walk in buildings and never got my legs broke yet, nor fell through the wall and died like one of my friends did its a combination of the lag letting it appear that you run through a wall and the new physics saying "oh, he's pretty high up in the air, better break his legs" THE PAIN!!! THE PAAAAAIIIIIN!!!!! ^^ -

Rocket makes statement about Navmesh/Zombies/Animals and Respawning
ZomboWTF replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
i personally prefer git, and recently fell in love with my new ubuntu OS, much better to develop than on windows... sry microsoft :D normally, the navmesh is just stored in a file or db in the server, the AI and player camera only need to ask the DB or file if the location is valid at least that is how i would set it up, if it is based on storing the navmesh locally, people could hack all kinds of silly stuff, and it may decrease the performance on your own system, though it would not increase server load since collision right now seems to be server based, it may result in a performance increase instead of a decrease, no idea how they handle collision detection and AI movement right now -
Rocket makes statement about Navmesh/Zombies/Animals and Respawning
ZomboWTF replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
Navmesh is a technique to tell NPCs and other AI controlled entities where they can go and what paths to take to go somewhere basically they are using some kind of ray-casting technique to determine where walkable paths are, and where none are (for example through walls), automating the process of creating navigation nodes en mass to reduce processing power needed to determine where npcs can go -
the only thing they could potentially tone down on the AKM is it's accuracy, if they tone down the damage of the 7.62x39 rounds the SKS would become obsolete the accuracy and damage values are all majorly botched right now normally the M4 should be way more accurate, while the Mosin should not be a sniper at all etc. though this all really doesn't really matter that much AKM is fucking rare, so it has its right to be stronger than anything but the M4 though keep in mind, balance is nothing a survival game typically has, and should not you could just as well say the hunting backpack or the UK assault vests are op

It always was this way 99% bandits and just because no one wants to be the guy getting shot and killed over and over again, which is the only way to stop the KoS spiral of doom and i still like this game just look at other players like they are more intelligent zombies with guns... with the "more intelligent" part being in doubt ;)

I would really like that option, since playing at night does scare away a lot of players when the night is something that lasts maybe an hour, while the day lasts two hours, players might think about just going through it rather than leaving however, that would also mean there would be 100% day servers again.... i personally don't like those at all
