There is also Rog, right above Elektro, part of one of my favorite loot-routes (Elektor -> Rog -> Msta -> Dolina -> Factory, and from then on either direction NWAF or coast, be sure to take the deerstand north of rog with you, almost always a Hunting scope in there) Then i think at Altar is also a new castle with a tower, and Skalisty Island has a pretty big castle as well so all in all 6 castles afaik i love looting castles and getting a nice view from the tower tops, have yet to bash someone's skull in with a mace though

there are many weapons that don't really depict their real life counterparts, for example the B95 normally has one barrel for a rifle round and one for a shotgun round the M4 double mag has straight up 60 rounds without having to reload, which also makes no sense i agree that it would make little to no big change to the balance etc, but these things are so minute they aren't worth talking about until beta imo

never really bothered with getting a ghillie, maybe i will think about it if i ever find a smersh vest + backpack, but normal camo clothing can hide you pretty well anyway, no real need for the ghillie btw, i remember seeing a video wobo made, that persons wearing ghillies turned literally invisible after 200 meters or so, is that still true?

it's probably duped, but getting rid of it won't make anything better, if you want to keep it, keep it with the next stable there will be a wipe anyway afaik

players will always find a reason to kos, especially organized groups, which probably 90% of the community consists of also, there is always a way to get food, even if both survivors meeting see no way, one will be able to eat :o -
even if it would break the realism, GPS was in the mod and was more a convenience than a "OMG FOUND GPS GUYS!", since the guys playing longer knew anyway where they were all the time we also never need to sleep in DayZ, always find clothing thats not to small for us, and seemingly have the keys to all doors in chernarus and stun batons working on 9V batteries i always thought realism needs to go a bit aside for better gameplay, but for experimental, something like a debug menu would fully suffice

They do, however zombies can't climb ladders in Standalone (imo they shouldn't be able to, just as they can't open doors) and can't open doors, so sniping from a secure position like a roof that only has access to via ladder or a closed door, you can snipe all you like also, even zombies can't accurately say where a shot comes from when it's 800 meters away, they should still need to draw aggro from the weapon flash or normal sight, or else sniping would become even harder as it is, and it's not easy to start with, but sure, they should start looking into the direction of shots or even start to walk or run into the direction, that would motivate snipers to place their shots carefully first shot -> zombie looks into the direction if he is outside direct hearing aggro range second shot -> zombie sees muzzleflash, runs to it and munches on delicious sniper meat :3 zombie stops looking into a certain direction after a few seconds -
you need a lot of color for painting the hood and top, how much is left in the can?

probably, we got a range finder, so a gps wouldn't be far-fetched (imo everyone should start with gps on experimental to report bugs and their exact location, but thats beside the point)

please use the search function or google, there are ridiculous amounts of tips for DayZ how to get your performance up http://www.survival-sandbox.de/dayz-standalone-performance-tweaks/<- literally the first hit on google.... okay the hit is german, but i'm german so go ahead and google yourself :P -
maybe if it would be more random and a little more harsh, why not add combinations? a day where the wells are dry and it's hot like hell? a day where where there is zero canned food and htunting is going terrible? a day where it's raining like crazy and there are no raincoats to be found ( i know i'm evil ), plus of course extreme cold a lot of these things could even be great when they are random by themself, for examle a random amount of wells is toxic, giving you 100% chance of cholera if you don't use water cleaning tablets

so should we also introduce 100-round G36 mags for the M4 because they exist and fit into the gun? btw, what happened to all the darrengers? (not sure if written correctly, the double barrel pistols)

they definitely should, there are way to many duped M4s (again), on stable public servers saw a video about how to dupe, and it's sadly very easy atm, which is why i only played on exp the whole last week and weekend

no it doesn't never did, never will the only thing it solves is the brainless gearing-up-sprinting going on, and server-hopping partially, if twenty zombies are following you and you fail to close a door behind you while looting a house = dead, if you are logging in and out in an area where there are tons of zombies = dead fights in citys will be more interesting though, for example zombie aggro lets you detect players that aren't as stealthy easier, and gives a decent problem for those who start firing, yet it won't protect you from being sniped by a guy who is on top of a roof in cherno, or on sniper hill -

go play another zombie game then, there is plenty out there, be warned though: they aren't DayZ -
I hope they are concentrating on building the new renderer and after that on a modification of the engine so my PC doesn't crap out it's CPU once i enter a city first also, miscreated and H1Z1 lack one thing DayZ has way way better: Bullet physics, penetration mechanics (besides buckshot) and a very detailed hunger/thirst/sickness/heat/injury system i have yet to see made better

imo this is how it should be, however, it also put a lot of stress on the servers, and they were bugged (chain aggro, aggro one zombie, the zombie next to it that doesn't even see you aggros, too, and there was no limit to how many steps of additional aggro was there, one shot in cherno and you had about 100 Zs chasing you down) spawning was bugged as well, so they don't respawn and don't spawn as much afaik right now -

three months ago a sh*tload of "Z" in DayZ and this wasn't even cherno believe me, you DIDN'T wanna go to cherno -
in the mod you can throw tin cans to distract zombies when sneaking through a town - they aren't trash at all

well, the "Z" came back to DayZ, only, you know, bugged and a whole f*cking lot of Z, so people cried it was to hard, and the devs listened to the wanna-be alpha testers and removed them again -
if 0.58 is coming stable, rejoice! best exp patch i tried until now then again can't wait whats in the next exp, so i wont be playing stable xD

1) The difficulty to find a decent setting with enough fps and decent visibility in citys 2) Very few zombies (there need to be like a thousand on the server, i dont care how buggy they are) 3) the hotbar not reacting to number selects

I really love weapons that don't need a clip to function, also i always was a fan of the Blaze, and since hunting scopes are so easy to find if you know where a lot of deerstands are, the blaze becomes a very good sniper rifle very soon to bad the double shot is bugged and won't shoot both bullets at the same time, else blaze would be a beast without comparison to snipe people that said, if you manage to find a sporter clip: yay long range sporter!^^

the sound right now is only placeholder to the most part, many sounds are still from the mod (including ambient, with the famous creaking metal gate sound) also afaik, sounds right now don't update the location from which they are played while they are played imo, ambient is important, but to much sound in the ambient can tip you off, for example: since dor sounds are in DayZ, the part of the ambient sound which makes the creaking gate sound is very annoying, just like the "random" global reload/eat/drnk sounds were, if there isn't a player or zombie near you, you shouldn't hear foreign footsteps or opening doors, etc. animal, insects, wind and further are very important though, and these videos have very nice ambient sounds the dev team said somewhere that sound was the last thing they will focus on however, so expect a long waiting time for decent sound the sounds in the videos are very very good though, i hope the later versions of the game will have something similar i wonder, was this done by simply recording a game session and then stripping the sounds over it so it fits, or did the one doing this modify the sound files and ambient sounds?
