Wow I only came over to ask if you were ok and needed help playing. You monster. It's ok, I've stopped crying now. Oh no, here I go again... (kidding :P that wasn't me!)

I remember chasing a bunny with an axe due to desperation. I chased him for like a minute all around the trees, the little bugger was darting around like crazy and kept dodging my axe blows. I kept chasing him and then he lead me straight into a boar that was just standing there. I let the bunny go and sunk my axe into the boar then collected all the meat. Went to a tree to get some wood for a fire, as I collect the wood the bunny runs around the tree and off again. I couldn't believe it, I was going to start chasing him again but I thought I'd let him go :P

Seriously I'd like to complain about your store, - nothing is on the shelves, it's all in un-organised piles, often mixed in with rubbish. - The staff, when they're about are brain dead and really not helpful nor do they provide a nice shopping experience. - Half your stock is out the back and not on the shop floor (literally). - Most of all are you trying to run side-line jewellery shop or something? whenever I'm in your shop I keep finding watches everywhere. Please stock more compasses. -
@NightAss is all the bad spelling intentional? Also don't trust putting stuff in a tent, I've lost so many good guns because I've gone "I'll just put my *bling bling* gun in this tent and go on a little jolly, so if I die I won't loose this fab weapon" cue bug/dsync/server-reboot/someone tea-leafs it/act-of-God... weapon gone :'( Morale of the story: if you get a good gun you want to keep, hold on to it till some little f***er pops you.

One of my buddies got a free trip to the coast. Spawned near Balota airfield so he went to the military camp to try and get a decent weapon. So he manages to get in without much trouble, climbs up into a deer stand. All I hear over TS is "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!". Turns out there was a zombie he hadn't spotted at the top of the deer stand, thankfully it wasn't looking towards the ladder and it never saw or heard him, he climbed back down and carried on. :D -

Noticed static zombies last night, they just stood there. They made noises but just ignored anything around them. Not sure what caused them to do this as we stumbled into them - they were despawned after the player that spawned them shot my buddy disconnected - they didn't react to the shots at all. The stealth elements are pretty bunk now, spend all that time sneaking around then one just randomly sees you from around a corner 150meters away (?!!), he runs at you *bang bang* he goes down. The zombie 20m away doesn't pay any attention to the shots but one 75m away starts pegging it at you. :huh: 3 of us approached a deer stand last night. Next thing we know there's a massive population boom in the area! At first we thought it was 3 zombies per person but they just kept appearing, I didn't get a solid count on the numbers but there were more than 9. -
My first murder and now I feel guilty

First time I killed someone I was up in Rog castle on the stairs. I'd recently been killed by a player north of Cherno and as a result only had a handful of gear. It was really dark and I was waiting for my friend to log in (he was on TS already chatting). Next thing I know this flare flies in through the door way. I hug the back of the stairs and watch I as I see this figure emerge, he looks in all the corners up the stairs with his 1911 out, my revolver is trained on him but he doesn't see me as I'm part way up a set of stairs. He decides to start heading up the stairs at which point I shot and killed him instantly. I waited a few minutes then went down to see his corpse, he was loaded with gear, everything I'd ever need to survive out in the wilderness. I felt really guilty for shooting him for like days afterwards. Now days I'm a cold hearted b4st4rd :( Though the other day I discovered a small spark of humanity was still there. I spawned south of Sol ran to the nearest long barn and saw a female survivor mulling about inside. Figured she'd have a weapon as she walked past an 1866 on the floor. I snuck in behind her and grabbed the rifle, I'd just got it in my hand when she turned and looked at me, was about to fire when I noticed she had no weapon! Behind me I'd dragged 3 or 4 zombies into the barn, so I turned and shot them. She freaked out and starting running around like a headless chicken... the temptation to shoot her got higher but I left her alone and shot the zombies going after her. She ran off towards Sol. Now I know what you're saying would I have done the same if it was a male character? The answer is yeah as I tend to regard that 99% of female characters online are being 'driven' by some 44 year old bald guy in his underpants :P I'd hate for there to be a real apocalypse! -

hopefully there'll be still some servers running 1.7.1.5 tonight - or a hotfix to address the big(ger) problems. I was really hoping to see a fix to the glitchy teleporting matrix-like bullet dodging zombies. Or the zombies that get so in your face your rifle is shooting through their model and not actually inflicting damage. Yeah I get this is an alpha but it's a victim of it's own success with 500k unique players and tens of thousands playing at the same time, implementation of new code needs to be smoother. Time to call it a "beta" and have separated alpha testing, roll out smaller alpha patches. But then again do the DayZ staff really care if a new release causes 1k or 10k people to quit? TBH I doubt I would unless they were paying customers! :P Go on guys show us some love chuck us something new...a silenced 1911 with tac-light please ;)

Ditto: I had a ghillie suit before the patch. Couldn't get 1.7.2 last night due to the website implosion so I just played on a 1.7.1.5 server and noticed my ghillie was gone. One of my buddies also lost his guillie suit - thankfully no loss to inventory items -
Lovely why do the hi-cups happen when I put my gear on the floor? Now I'll have no primary weapon and no backpack (with my medical, food and drink supply) when I get back in :'( I should have learnt by now not to put my gear down even for a second

Really? This is just taking the piss now, is this the norm for admins to reboot the server without any in game warning? And no I don;t want to sit on your teamspeak server or be in your IRC channel. Frankly doing my nut in now. It seems every time I try to sort out some gear in the middle of it when I have half my f'ing stuff on the ground... or smack bang in the middle of somewhere highly exposed... "no message received for..." Is it really that much f'ing trouble to announce a reboot? Frankly you shouldn't be allowed to restart the server without a minimum 30 second warning.

So when I rejoin the server and the time has been changed and it stead of it being the middle of the afternoon it's the middle of the night... is that not an invoked restart? (that's an example and not what I just had tonight).

Yeah zombie women are needed for sure. While zombie children would make it more authentic I think a lot of people (including myself) would be very very uncomfortable with the idea of having to gun down a zombie 5 year old. And yes while the game is meant to push you out your comfort zone there's a line. -- Not to mention the negative publicity this would cause. Anyway... I would like to see a zombie granny who chases after you still clutching her zimmer frame. How about a very random spawn of a zombie clown?

I hated it at first but now finding something decent to defend yourself is half the fun. The other day I had to crawl up behind a zombie to get a hatchet he was stood near, that was quite a moment especially when I managed to pull it off.

once you work out which buildings yield loot you'll be doing loads better. But buildings means zombies will spawn. Running around will turn you into a Zombie Electromagnet so you need to crouch and walk slowly, pay attention to the noise and sight meters. Once you figure out the zombie AI you can pretty much navigate your way through a swarm without too much hassle.

it spawns based on distance and if nothing is in a spawn spot. So pick up ALL the loot dump it somewhere that's not a spawn. Go about 100m away, come back. New loot. Sometimes it gets messed up, it doesn't like it if you spawn in, you have to go ~100m away and then back. If you milk a location too much it starts to go iffy

I'm pretty sure the MP5SD ammo is from standard Arma2. Bohemia did a pretty good job on the modelling of the guns but like the rest of their games development lacking in polish (tiny tiny pet hate of mine, running around with the 1911 with the hammer down...it's a single action hammer grrrr lol). Well hopefully soon we'll be able to convert a 9mm mag to any other type of mag. I'd love to see a suppressed 1911...the .45acp round is subsonic anyway

Hows me posting a new thread creating a problem? Have you seen these forums and how much traffic and spam they get? I didn't realise an active community was a problem. My new thread and your post have pretty much the same weight in database activity so give yourself a pat on the back. -
Tools Flashlight - usable as melee weapon 4-5 hits to kill a zombie, military flashlight is heavier therefore more a tad effective 3-4 hits. Hunting knife usable as melee weapon. Melee weapons not needing to be in the primary weapon slot to be used. When using a melee weapon you should be a lot more susceptible to getting a bleed when hit by a zombie. Head torches, goes in the binocular type inventory slot. Not brilliantly powerful. Duct Tape! Goes to a tool slot. Allows you to duct tape flashlight onto your primary weapon (if it hasn’t already got one). Useful for other things.... Traps Kit. Goes into tool slot. Used to make traps/alarms (see below). Also allows the player to spot/disarm traps (small chance to spot traps, chance decreases as humanity drops?) Traps Kit + empty whiskey bottle = door alarm/distraction device. Player can attach this to a door, if the door is moved (opened/closed) then the bottle drops and breaks. Traps Kit + empty tin can + flare = door alarm/distraction device. just like the tin can version above but more effective. Traps Kit + empty tin can + smoke grenade = just like the flare version but sets off a smoke grenade. Traps Kit + empty tin can + grenade = deadly booby trap. Can be attached to a door, if the door moves the grenade is pulled out of the tin can, a few seconds later, boom! As the grenade comes out the tin can there should be a ‘ting’ and a small pop as the spoon flies off and the grenade arms, giving any poor unsuspecting player a second or two’s warning. Weapons Much higher spawn rate for pistols and their ammo. Higher spawn rate for shotguns and their ammo. Higher spawn rate for submachine guns. Lower spawn rate for assault rifles. Crossbow needs some iron sights, it’s dreadful to use when you don’t have a crosshair. Perhaps this should a reflex/red dot scope that can be zero’d from 5 to 50 metres? More pistols please! Like the H&K USP in .45. The 1911 is the best gun but it’s found all over yet the Glock 17 and M9 would technically be more common place. Thompson 1928 Submachine gun - takes 45acp based ammo and has 100 round drum magazines. High recoil on full auto but very effective, quite rare not classed as military, can be found in the likes of fire stations. Vz 82 Skorpion machine pistol (uses Makarov ammo). A common Eastern Bloc weapon, not very powerful but fairly controllable. Has 20 round mags. Weapon maintenance. Guns generally don’t like to fire a lot and lots of rounds as they get dirty very quickly, some guns cope better than others but some will start to jam up; fail-to-feed or fail-to-extract. So guns should need to be cleaned via a gun cleaning kit in the toolbelt. If/when a gun jams the only way to clear it is by pressing “reload” (which will reinsert the same mag), there’s an 85% chance the jam will be cleared Misc Items/Food Flares at night should have a larger attraction zone for zombies. During the day they’re not so useful. Smoke grenades should work in the same way but be more effective during the day, less so at night. how funny/great would it be to see a zombie pick up a flare or smoke grenade and the rest of the zombies go nuts at him? Would be much better/more useful if the Water canteen had two “uses” before it was empty. Player Extreme Thirst/hunger (flashing red) should not cause a blood loss tick but cause the player’s vision to sway and make the player randomly pass out No cursor servers are fine but really could do with showing a cursor when throwing things. Being able to manually merge two half empty mags would be sooo nice. Ability to drink from ponds/pumps without a canteen. Throwing things should have more of a stun effect when they hit. Also should be able to confuse/throw off agro by throwing things near zombies. Tin cans. If you walk over a tin can it should make some noise as if you were tapping/kicking it. Not dropping ammo of any type when dropping a gun or picking up other stuff (gets kinda annoying when you have an inventory full of guns and no gun). Zombies Please fix their glitching/teleporting. They’re annoying to shoot when they do this, never mind having to hit them multiple times. Cop zombies have a good chance of having a pistol and/or pistol ammo. A very slim chance of having a SMG or shotgun. Soldier Zombies have a small chance of having an assault rifle. Small chance of an M9 pistol. Zombies should be attracted to the location of noise/gunfire/etc rather than agro straight on to the player.. Clumsy zombies, lets face it these guys aren’t in the best physical and mental condition, how about sometimes they fall over when running about? Zombie eyes to reflect light. The virus has mutated the eyes of the infected - got this idea when (IRL) I shone my torch into a field the other night and got felt like a hundred freaky blue eyes staring back at me (sheep), thought it’d be ace if the game had that too. Zombies should just stare into the light trying to work out what to do - in fact it would be ace if you could use a torch to dazzle a zombie so you could sneak by. (please don’t make the eyes red though, they’d be so cliched!) Well that's about it, I'm sure a few of those have been mentioned before by others but that's the stuff/changes I'd really like to see :)
