FYI, it is spelled "retarded."

I've read all I can from Rocket's posts and can't find where he says "You cannot ban hackers." I think you are too much reading into the rules: The context of that quote is about admins kicking people to make room for clan members, and how kicking for clan members is abused to hide that admins were kicking for spying, stealing, etc. Rocket does however state: The OP and hacker clearly violated that rule and the ban should stand based on the server admins logs. Hell, like Neo said above, based on that rule from Rocket, the whole group should be banned. However if you can find me where Rocket explicitly states "You can't ban people for hacking" then please enlighten me, because I can't find it. Further more, this isn't an instance of banning without proof. Not only is their proof, you have two of the group outright admitting they were being helped by the hacker. Had their been no evidence, fine. Even with evidence it is still one sided as you say, the logs could be edited. However when two of the people involved in the incident admit they were getting items and teleports from the hacker, I really don't see the issue.
-
Are you really so daft, you can't see how idiotic your argument is? You really don't see anything wrong with having a hacker spawn you items and teleport you somewhere because it isn't you running the hack? Serious question...are you seven years old? If you are that would explain a lot of things as I expect a seven year old to not have a sense of right and wrong yet. While I can say I would like to think I have some integrity and wouldn't have associated with a hacker for my own benefit, the point is moot. The point however, is that Ayser did associate with the hacker. Ayser did knowingly benefit from the hacker. Ayser did get caught red handed and got banned for it. It appears also that after he got caught, he had everyone not banned destroy the stuff so he could claim the equivalent of "Hey FBI, we robbed this bank to get ahead in the world, but we decided to burn the money afterwards. We're sorry so we're cool right?" The fact that Ayser says he was on TS with all his buddies and he was having the hacker teleport players suggests that your whole group is culpable. Edit: You can't be serious. Server admin posts logs with evidence of the hacker and people directly benefiting from the hack and you think the ban should be lifted? It isn't a global ban, he can go play elsewhere, hopefully he will learn from this and be more careful.

I play on that server, hence my interest in this topic. This is my fight. This is every legit player's fight. Why, because despite your claims of disliking hacking and avoiding it, you and people like you are even worse than the hackers. You hide behind your self-righteous attitude about hacking all the while directly benefiting from ill gotten gains. What's even more funny, now that the admin has posted evidence that completely outs you as a liar, you admitting to asking for hacking benefits, and try to justify it by saying they were just small things and that you are sorry. Had you truly had integrity, you would have not even associated with the hacker in the first place. Good riddance. Caught red-handed you are. /yoda

Didn't benefit my ass. Logs show you directly asking for benefits. Stay banned, I hope you get a global.
-
Dunno how you are not seeing my argument. I really can't make it any clearer which is why I am just replying to your post using your quotes.
-
So to recap, you say hacking hurts the game and you don't agree with hacking. However you admit you knew this EG.iNcontroL was hacking. Furthermore, you and your group directly benefited from the hacker knowingly by having him spawn you engine parts. But most damning of all, you openly admit you asked the hacker to teleport your dead teammate directly to you to save some time. You may not have been running the hacks yourself, but you were a knowing and willing accomplice to the hacks. Righteous ban in my opinion.

Three questions, 1) The server does not have player names turned on. How did you see his name? 2) You said you suspected he was hacking. Why did you spend what seems to be a very long time with him? 3) Who and where exactly are you requesting to be spawned in this thread? http://dayzmod.com/f...ing-to-hacking/

To the server hoppers on Seattle 47
ian.m.seiler@gmail.com posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Dear Frauce & friends, Good job locating our campsite in the valley NW of the dam. Good job stealing our truck and gear. Good job attempting to steal our bus. Too bad we came back to our camp and ruined your fun. Our sniper was on point, shooting your face out of the bus. For shame though when your friends engaged us from behind. They are pretty horrible shots and couldn't kill any of us. For shame that you guys had to resort to server hoping to to try to kill us, disconnecting, then reconnecting behind us, only to log off when they were about to die. Thanks for the GPS and NVGs we took from your cold, cold exploiting body. -

I don't find it's pompous (well maybe a little). I just found it fun to beat the exploiters at their own game. And no, I ain't mad. We actually made out better than we started. All they made off with was a cargo truck, that we weren't really using and some weapons. -

The dev team currently has more applications than needed so they are picky and slow about responding as they can pick and choose the best of the best offers. Have patience and read the forums. I strongly suggest you start with the stickies (they are were useful info like what I just said is posted). -
US 1 US 2 TAW_Tonic Need Beta Patch
ian.m.seiler@gmail.com replied to ghzt's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
You clearly did not read my post. I have 2 cars that are at my current character location' date=' and I don't want to wander off on a different server and have to find them again. Perhaps you have never had a car in DayZ, but once you do it is VERY hard to go back to walking everywhere instead of driving to anywhere on the map in 10 minutes. Additionally cars apparently not start falling apart if you don't use them for a number of days, and I would hate to have that happen to me. I also have a ton of supplies in these cars that I would appreciate having access to. [/quote'] "If you get attached to your gear....you're gonna have a bad time." /Ski instructor. Seriously, play on a different server for a bit, go outside, read a book, make sweet love to someone (or thing I don't discriminate) just do something other than complain out something out of your control. -

IMPORTANT: Tents will be wiped in update 1.7.1.5
ian.m.seiler@gmail.com replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
It's what happens when you have Alpha/Beta stages with no barrier to entry such as an application and wait list. The majority of people think I paid money to play this (even though they actually didn't, they bought ARMA2) I should have my way! @rocket Wipe away, please hit vehicles next! Also, would you consider a complete wipe (characters) each time a major feature is introduced to test viability? -
IF this was an actual game...
ian.m.seiler@gmail.com replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
How would you rather pay for it? Pay once $30-50 or Monthly fee no more than $10 Also: You're doing great as is now as the developer. A big studio (EA/Ubi) WILL lose my business on principle alone. Universal rules on community servers. Option for reserved slots would be nice if community servers. Other wise no opinion (I just want to play). Kickstarter would be a great option for US players, though UK/EU people wouldn't be able to help afaik. -
[1.7.1.4] Multiple tent placements with one tent
ian.m.seiler@gmail.com posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I've now experienced this on two servers, DE61 and US47. Successfully placing a tent on the ground without moving your character causes your character to repeat the tent placing animation repeatedly. This causes multiple tents to be placed on top and inside one another. Item placement and removal seem to be unaffected. Multiple tents are rendered in the same location and each tent can be packed up and looted, the process effectively creates a new tent each animation and sound loop. To place only one tent, the player must actively move their character during the initial animation/sound. -

[VIDEO] New patch proves hard :o
ian.m.seiler@gmail.com replied to TheCoalVideos's topic in New Player Discussion
Feedback: I enjoyed how you started off the video. You began to attempt to show players that they can indeed survive the new patch without a weapon if they follow the "zombies can lose sight" mechanic. (At least that is what I got from it.) However, the video goes down hill when you state "I'm playing like an idiot just running around." Then you get injured, because you are running around like a newb. Then you start complaining about how the new patch is bad even though I felt as though you began the video with the intent of showing people no weapon is not the end of the world. I'd suggest making a new video, but play the game as you would normally instead of demonstrating mechanics. Demonstrate the mechanics of zombie aggro if you screw up. Granted, this might take some time, but I think if you do it this way, you will get one of two things. A) you will show people how to survive without a weapon which is kinda important. It might even end up being the new "Tips for beginners" videos and help make a better player-base. or B) you will have some actual evidence that the new patch is maybe a bit hard for new players instead of the anecdotal vitriol that is plaguing the forums at the moment. Either way you help Rocket make an informed choice about the games direction. Kudos to making videos, I would do it but don't have the patience for it. -

Near impossible for new players now
ian.m.seiler@gmail.com replied to Hze's topic in New Player Discussion
Over 120 hours you claim but don't understand the premise of the game? Either you are out right lying about time in game or you aren't the sharpest pencil in the drawer. When people spawn in, they have about 5-10 seconds where they are visible in game but cannot take any actions due to a black screen. Running from a completely defenseless person was you first mistake. Your second mistake is not understanding the game. You said "I wasn't in a killing mood." Fair enough, you also were not in a surviving mood apparently and the *whole* point of the game is surviving. You were shot in the back because you didn't make the correct choices about your survival. You weren't even bested by a better/smarter player, you just played very dumb. Completely your fault. Your third mistake was repeatedly spawing when you knew there were spawn campers. Go to a different server, keep respawning until you spawn somewhere without campers. You don't have any gear, you haven't lost anything. -
Spawning in Barren Wasteland?
ian.m.seiler@gmail.com replied to wo0kie (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Same thing happened to me today/last night. Logged off in the wilderness with no problems. Logged in this morning in the wilderness (no trees/buildings/etc.). All of my items were gone though my health stats remained the same. It should be noted that I *was* wearing the camo skin (I know this is an issue) however I had the camo for 2 days without issue. Also, the server I play on was updated to 1.7.1.2 overnight when I was logged off so this might be the cause. I attempted to log into a couple other servers and experienced the same issue. I then gave up and killed myself and was able to spawn with no issues in Kamenka. My Game Version: 1.7.1.2 + Beta 93825. Server: Seattle 47 (Version 1.7.1.2) Location when logged off: NNW of Berezino What I was doing: Lying prone near a pine tree Equipment carried: Wincester, Makarov, ammo, canteens, a couple of steaks, assorted med supplies, map, compass, watch, knife, hatchet, matches, smoke grenade, flares, AKM in backback, AKM mags in backpack. (Listing in case of commonality causing the bug). Current location: Respawned and having fun avoiding zombies without gear! (For the record I love the not spawning with a weapon). -
I think the people saying "Not spawning with a weapon cuts down on deathmatch" are missing the bigger issue. The reason not spawing with a weapon is important to the lively hood of the game IMO is that it teaches the most essential and valuable skill in the game. That skill is how to avoid zombies. DayZ is all about never being detected. The longer you can go without being detected by a zombie, the longer you will survive as a newly spawned player. Also as others have mentioned, it teaches you to escape from aggro'd zombies. Once you master these two skills you can then be successful for a time. Yes it cuts down on deathmatch a bit (maybe, people are still talking about spawn killing and such) but hey, Bandits gonna bandit yo whether you spawn with nothing or everything. But if you die a few times you will either learn from your mistakes and how to cope, or you will rage-quit/uninstall. The only thing spawning with a weapon and a ton of supplies encouraged was a quick move north to escape the deathmatch or a sense of invincibility without learning any prerequisite skills. Case and point: This popular DayZ video series in where a newb "demonstrates" how to survive solo.

SERVER HOPPING firefights (*BIG problem*)
ian.m.seiler@gmail.com replied to patrik's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Why not make it so players are bound to a certain server? Upsides: This would eliminate server hopping for outright cheating to avoid a firefight. It would also eliminate server hopping to loot gear (I'm looking at you people who jump in and out of servers in Stary Sobor). Would add to the realism of the game. Downsides: Would eliminate part of the premise of the game, persistent characters across gameservers, though this is the entire issue. To mitigate the downside, why not just allow multiple characters each bound to a server. Thoughts?
