Great update. Haven't played for a while but the recent updates are making me want to play again more and more! :) I have one question though regarding player animation... what is the plan for facial animations? The character looks great with all the new body animations but with a static face at all time, it ruins the immersion. Hopefully this is in the pipleline for future updates. Cheers!

Never even thought of that, makes so much sense! Would be good seeing a house in the distance and going towards it, then noticing the smoke coming out the chimney then seeing that there are people inside lit up from the light from the fire. Quite cool. :)

I will add that I was hanging out with ghillie top and hood on yesterday and got orange overheating status. Took it all off and rolled about in ponds and lakes for ages until I eventually got cold. After overdoing this it seems I got the jitters. Going back into the ghillie though and running around seemed to heat me up and solve it though. :) -
While it looks nice it isn't really functional and is quite wasteful space wise. Having to scroll down to see the rest of your inventory is a major issue at the moment and is what really needs fixed. Everything has to be seen at once and unfortunately this doesn't address that issue. The 7 horizontal lines of inventory at the top is wasteful with large amounts of white space that when used properly would help pull the rest of the inventory up into one screen space. I'm not a fan of the huge 'CRAFTING' icon that appears in the middle hiding your character. It does look nice though and has some cool additions like rotating inventory items to place them in any way you like. I would like to see whoever done it try a revised version. Of course, all of this is just my opinion, I am by no means an expert. :)

It is in experimental. I believe they are hoping to update stable branch next week with it too.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)

I haven't played the game for a few months and just started again this week on stable branch. Zombies are brutal now in that you simply cannot lose them. Run around a few building to lose the line of site and hide in a shed and they will eventually catch up with you 30 seconds later even though they never seen where you went. It's incredibly frustrating so hopefully this is addressed soon. It definitely seems worse than previous times. Also noticed they are coming from miles away now. I was in the middle of a field and they just kept coming to me for half an hour maybe. About twenty of them in total every minute or so another one came from far away. Really strange behaviour for stable sincs I'd last played. -

Sadly I've had to opt out of experimental now. I have tried for about 4-5 hours play in total over the last couple of days and every life I've had has ended in dying of starvation. I think the only food I found in that whole time was an orange. Other than rotten fruit of course. -
In case no one noticed, the developers silently increased zombie numbers in last patch.

I can't say I've noticed any more in the 10 hours or so I've played since the update. Seems as barren as ever to me. It's hard to tell though since the bodies disappear so quickly. If they stayed there until restart you would know if people had passed through the area. -

Hi guys, I have been having a think about how doors work in DayZ and think it could benefit with an update as I'm sure many other people do. I couldn't find any discussion on it though so thought I'd start a thread. I first realised I wasn't happy with doors when it suddenly dawned on me that doors are silent in the world. They don't creak, the don't click, they don't slam, nothing. Changing this alone would make a huge difference. If there were locked doors they could obviously make a noise for that too so they don't just look like painted onto the building but actually part of the world. Another thought I had though which would vastly improve the game in my opinion would be to use the Amnesia door opening/closing mechanism. Where you have full control over how much to open the door and how fast as well. This would give people the option to creep into a building slowly and quietly opening the doors and peeking before going through. Or to just run and gun slamming doors open and closed quickly making much more noise. This in turn could obviously attract players or zombies. Different kind of doors could make different noises too. A more modern door would be quieter than and old rickety wooden one with a dodgy lock that clicks very loud for instance. But the huge fire station doors would be much louder and give your position away even more. Just a few thoughts on the matter, anyone else got anything to add? Cheers

30 seconds for me. It was like that the last time I played the mod whatever server it was on and it worked perfect for me. Along with not being able to log out while in combat.

RB has been massively improved upon for me. It has happened once or twice since the latest update in about 20 hours play which I can live with. :) Group of 5 of us on for hours last night on the one server, all sticking together, no RB from anyone. Good fix guys. :D
