Not sure I agree with you. The in game one clearly has extra physical parts modelled and the textures are different. Not just lower resolution as you would expect if running on lower settings but actually painted differently.

I'm not moaning about what Rocket is doing but you are talking utter bollocks in saying that what he is doing is not affecting development of core functionality. If he wanted the game out ASAP then he would be concentrating on core functionality and NOTHING else. Writing on bottles, radios, motorbike helmets, combining maps, finding beans in cupboards, etc is all extra features that has nothing to do with why we are waiting for the standalone release. Along with being on Twitter and Reddit all the time, doing interviews, dev blogs, etc. The time spent in the last year on things not part of core functionality must be astronomical. It's his game though so he can do as he pleases. He seems to work the way I would too. He obviously loves this game and enjoys getting involved in all aspects of it no matter how big or small. If this means progress is slowed down but the game goes the exact direction he wants then so be it. All I know is that I can't wait for it, and it's going the way I want. :D -
It's never said DayZ Alpha Test before. It's quite misleading.

I can only see it working one way. You both choose to spawn together and you get whatever random location the game gives you just like now. Nothing else to it. That's what I would like to see so when we start with fresh characters we can team up straight away. -

Yes yes yes. Although people playing in teams could get their mate's to pick up their stuff for them. But the idea is a good one and I'd like to see something like that implemented. Anything that makes people Value their life more is of interest to me! :D -

What about everyone spawns with different things each time. Just a random selection of low level items with the odd exciting thing thrown in from time to time. You could spawn without a bag on one time and some things in your pockets like a chocolate bar and some painkillers and a broken mobile phone. You know, realistic things. On another occasion you could spawn with a bag on, with various food and drink, or tools, or camping stove, knife, matches, etc. That would give a bit of background maybe but means it's not a choice for the player which I think is the route it should go down. I wouldn't like to see people choosing their loadout to begin with, it's not that kind of game. Everyone should spawn with random stuff, it would make the immediate start more interesting too to find out what you begin with. But it would always be low level items, nothing crazy like a fully working radio/GPS, or DMR, etc. -
What happens now when you starve? Anytime it happens to me, I just lose blood until I eventually pass out and die. you should be getting tired, taking longer to run, possibly when weight for items becomes a feature then you can carry less, you shake more when holding weapons, etc. That would make it more interesting. Apologies if that already happens, I just guess I don't live long enough right now to starve! :lol:

It feels like we are being prepared for Standalone by making zombies more of a threat and reducing loot all over the map. This is what it's going to be like though. It's going to be tough to survive. It's going to be tough to find food. It's going to be tough to find high powered weapons. It's gonna be tough to avoid or kill zombies. This is the zombie apocalypse after all. It's not supposed to be easy. Man up everyone!! ;)

Thanks for the reply, my main concern was being on a map that isn't Chernarus though. By your answer I assume they work on all maps too? I wonder why I've read otherwise then.

I've looked all over and cannot find conclusive proof of this question... Do the PMC and BAF HQ textures work on non private servers that are not Chernarus? I spend 99% of my time on private servers, mainly on Panthera and hear that these DLC packs to not work there. I don't want to shell out £16 for both of them to find out it's a waste of money. Can anyone who has the packs clear this up for me please?

Makarov SD is 1 shot kill to zombies in the head. 2-3 shots to players. Pretty good gun really. Don't know why people moan so much about it. You just gotta aim for the head and be accurate. -
