    so... let me get this straight... there's 4 reasons why ur group is failing... EITHER wolves are OP as FUCK (I mean 1 of them bites a guy 2-3 times and he's dead correct) you're using piss poor .380 ammo which in turn packs less punch then a 3 yo on crack trying to win the paralympics... (so essentially NON) your group coordination needs some polishing (to say the least) because you're running running around like headless chickens.. no leadership (yes and thats what gets you killed against wolves IRL as well) your group can't hit the broad side of a barn.. because you've fire HOW many salvo's into a single wolf? 3-4? (so 9-12 rounds of .380) while at LEAST 1 of you is carrying a mosin? riiiiight..... tip for next time.. just fucking RUN.... IDC how u do it.. but this aint working like the vid shows.. at least 1 dead on a 4 on 6 encounter... hmmmmmmm do-able if you ask me...

    RP map additions

    first: well it's just the fact that if you can only RP in the west.. what happens? nobody goes there.. have fun RPing with yourself.. in RP (if your as 'fanatic' as you say) you can RP ANYWHERE.. and playing on RP servers.. there's this rule of KoS NOT allowed.. so I kinda miss your point here... second: improvised tents etc. are on the planning somewhere in 2020 so don't worry.. it'll come eventually so WHY would you want your own 'house' when you can be a HOBO survivalist that camps out in his own tent? sure having an extra water source somewhere would be cool... all they'd have too do IMHO is add a water purification system for salt water. make the ocean interactive with a pan/gas canister find a bucket/container find a plastic tarp find another container leave it in the sun (water vapor condenses on the tarp, drips in the bucket below) <- congratulations you're now a full hobo that can actually RP :D

    everyone has 'too many' guns in dayz the moment you pick up an M4 with 700 rnds of 5.56 (which your never going to use) because if you need an entire clip *30/60 rnds* to bring down a player.. then you can't hit the broad side of a barn and shouldn't be holding a gun to begin with xD

I agree... the axe (which is attached to nothing, because it has no strap) does look kinda weird just floating there (cause thats what it basically does IRL) but having 2 primary guns on you back... why would that not be logic? and having a M4 on your back and an MP5 in/rak your backpack is? those are also 'primary' weapons.. so once again... your argument is kinda invalid if you ask me 'logics' wise..

    we already have that kind of tool.. its called a crowbar... does the exact same thing.. chuck that under a car and push it over... tadaaa problem solved no new feature (that will probably break) needed.

    In the past DayZ was much more PVE, player versus environment <- when was this exactly?... most of my non RP server encounters change from 'oi you drop your shite' to 'bullet whizzes passed ur head.. you are dead' mostly within minutes of joining because some punk 12 yo has ran towards mil base X geared up and just goes trololol bambi hunting this has always been the case ever since this game came out.. this has not been 'different' on the servers I've played on which did not bare the seal: RP server in its title 'I think many of today's dormant / absent player-base has stopped playing because they have lost trust in the game returning to the glorious level of discovery, cooperation, communication and diversity of players that made to game so interesting in the early days.' ^ kinda true on that part.. only thing was.. most 'players' had the attitude of a fearless immortal john J rambo carrying around 7000 7.62 rounds they'd never use anyways because most people either shot zeds or other players.

    so where did you find this 'treassure' because certain people on this forum... when you mention things like dayztv (who do the exact same thing: dig through the dayz data files) are labeled 'data miners' thus non-reliable sources because they dig up stuff from the actual DayZ game files, ranging from new guns/vehicles/character stances/new animals data which aren't in the game (yet) just wondering because this sounds like the exact same thing to me regarding 'finding new stuff' on that website

    knowing dayz.... netting is line concrete walls... so static... thus you can't shoot through them.. so just to get this straight... for my comfort and state of mind... Snipers can't see you that well.. but you can see ALL the snipers up in the trees... hmmhmmm (doubt it) plus the fact that this netting isn't something (in all logic of dayz) something you can just 'remove or raise up' through scroll command.. thus making it a static object (for all we know right now) so WHAT logic does this tower give you advantage wise... it should give you a high-point overview advantage for people 'on the ground' but thats about it.. there's always a chance (if you're up in a tower) you get shot in the head by a sniper when that tower is out in the open surrounded by woods... but my best guess? these towers are behind walls.. and their IN the woods.. so a sniper can't just 'take aim and fire' a bit more strategy might be involved here... what would make this tower better? sheet metal with small openigs on the first floor (or netting) and the same on the top floor... netting for the sides but not the front/back of the tower. IMO these kinds of towers take up way too much space ... why not make a similar type of tower that we already have around mil bases? straight stairs.. 1 person towers. take up a LOT less space and are easier to conceal just saying

AI hunting whoot :) AI <- here we go.. legit threats in this game instantly (hopefully standalone will also get AI once modding becomes a thing) weed <- instant win right here tow/lift <- sweet script earplugs <- realism and epicness (hopefully this will come as soon as the new audio is in around 0.61-0.63 in two years) self-bloodbag <- need no explaining..

    in every possible post-apoc. movie.. first bloody thing that happens is people fixing shit.. getting their fridge working because solar panels.. you name it... so why won't the gas generator work? they're actually planning lights (like in construction sites) what do you think that runs on? 10-20 of those generators to run a mile of street lights.. for IDK.. 30 min... thinking outside the box here.. but hey.. this is dayz forums.. every general idea from people with less than 20.000.000 posts and 5K rep. is garbage 'because' LOL and besides... fuel pumps??? where is all that gas comin' from for your truck that runs 2 gallons a mile.. you need a fucking gas station to drive those things.. regarding fuel economy.. so please bro.. don't bash people for having an idea that doesn't involve a AKM and a hunting scope... generators are MORE efficient than most trucks/cars in dayz... and I'm not talking about the ENTiRE map being lit up like a X-mas tree.. I'm talking 'setting' 'environment' 1 flickering streetlight or a random working streetlight in the darkest place you can find in elektro.. again... all those gas guzzling WW2 trucks that you peeps drive and those lada's are even less fuel efficient NOT even mentioning choppers in later games... and regarding your 'infrastructure' I mostly ROLL my eyes when people talk about how little people know about shit.. then blindly forget that every gas station needs power for its fuelpumps to work... how many jerry cans are in this country? how much gas do you think you're going to find.. I'll give you a tip.. free 'o charge... NON! 'realism'

    when modding hits the scene.. be prepared to experience total shock.. purely the fact that someone out there will manage to create a working electrical grid.. you switch on a powerplant (cherno/elektro/svetlojarsk) with a generator (that works on petrol ofc.) and a part of the map gets working streetlights.. thus showing that people are in that area or 'just left' just like we had in epoch mod. and people saying 'that's not possible because game design/engine etc.' just KNOW that arma 2 was the main game.. what dayZ epoch and vanilla functioned on... plus the fact that some working (or flickering) streetlights (one every 400-500 meters or so... ¼ or ½ mile or more per light.) create some more atmosphere in the game.. because there will ALWAYS be people that try to rebuild fix stuff.. not just your loud ass clumsy cars and trucks
  16. that is... until the devs figure out a way to quadruple the amount of zeds in cities in general... like it should be.. if you have a country the size of chernarus.. and as remote as chernarus (up north and west) not every person in this country would be airlifted to safety.. since that wouldn't be realistic. dayz STOPS being a PVP game and will focus more on survival when SHTF.. and instead of 10 zombies on NWA.. there are now 40 or more zombies.. once it becomes dangerous enough (zombies/predators/other players) the KoS/this is a COD FPS game mentality will stop on its own.. because by then, the FIRST person to fire his SKS or sporter in cherno after spotting a fresh spawn.. will have to RUN like a bat outta hell.. since he aggro's the entire zombie pop of cherno on his ass.. trying to eat that person because you've effectively rung the dinner bell.. if the devs can get people to stop KoS and shoot about for shits and giggles (like dean hall wanted from the very start!) slow down the game speed/make it MORE dangerous to go places/make sure Chernarus is a REAL dangerous place.. by that time.. it SHOULD force people to work together.. trying to survive.. instead of playing 'pick off the freshy' on the coast.. because that gets you killed when you're a lone wolf if not by other players, than by zeds.. if not by neither of those.. you're getting mauled to death by wolves or bears etc. see you in cherno folks.. be safe

I don't play RP servers.' <- that right there is your point made.. case closed... nothing more relevant to say.. if you play on 'something moves and it's dead' servers A.K.A. public.. sprinting would never be an option... it gets your head blown off.. because you stand out.. Deru kui wa utareru. Literally: The stake that sticks up gets hammered down. thats about as much as I can say about sprinting people... I DO play on RP servers (for obvious reasons, placing interaction FAR above lining your LR scope and taking headshots.) so IF you stand out.. interaction flows from it.. instead of a shit storm of bullets.. that makes dayz a FPS instead of anything else.. IMO.. if you want to play that way... fine.. but you might as well play COD because FPS...
  18. several reasons why this is an arguable point.. - YES it takes you longer to go places when you're jogging - YES it sometimes makes you an easier target - YES it can be fixed fairy easily - you do realize dayz is based (or trying to be based) on realism.. in the current status you're sprinting 30 km/h (or about 15 mph..try doing that for 20 min.. just try.. - sprinting full out should drain you of energy/liquids/breath because realism - yes you run faster.. but what does it ultimately get you? nothing in most cases apart from SOME time saving.. but isn't dayz something you play to kill time? - making you an easier target? yes.. because I'd rather shoot a sprinting fully geared player than a jogging one.. because 1: he has balls, so I respect that.. 2. a jogging players is more confident, so he might have back up somewhere.. shoot him.. get your head blown off by his mates - realism wise (yes again) sprinting isn't something YOU would do.. so constantly sprinting on a RP server *on which I play mostly* isn't realistic when talking with your normal voice while your char. is panting like a cheetah.. - why should you sprint in the first place.. when every moving thing wants to shoot or eat you.. (i've never seen a zombie movie where they SPRINT 50 miles or so... 'because they can' and further more.. sprinting in later patches (hopefully) will agro half of cherno on your ass.. just like it did in the mod. because above all sprinting/running makes noise.. zombies/sounds/survivor/fresh meal etc.

    that sounds like a great idea... do you know the series Z nation? there's also a guy (citizen Z padumtsss) broadcasting from the north pole (NSA employee) so people broadcasting outside of the game.. should have certain standards.. you're allowed to broadcast.. but if you 'talk' in your radio show.. dayz related only.. and music wise it should be anything from like the 70's/80's/90's/00's (up until 2014-ish hits since thats when everything went down) and presumably the world as well.. so no new 'tracks' being made.. in all honesty radio would improve the game dramatically since immersion is such a big thing for dayZ.. AND above all... they could make the radio tower of use again... all they need to do is make some kind of switch/mechanism in it.. to activate/deactivate it so when it's on.. you hear broadcasts. - dj's calling for survivors to go towards a certain town - moral support talks 'how's your day in chernarus this morning? still kicking I hope?!' - playing music for relaxation - maybe even spread rumors on certain things and servers. (Xmas is just around the corner.. and I've picked up on some sweet drops near (...) ammo/good food/new gun! wouldn't that be a good Xmas surprise!) this being the absolute classic ofc.

    hmmmm.. ok... well again.. 'too much work, to little time, to much effort, to little energy' that's a pretty big upset if you ask me to accomplish in dayz.. I was revering to the radio station building IN game.. I thought that had plans (pretty recently) that if you had control over that station/sector.. you could (like I discribed) play tunes across the server.. but now that you mention it.. I remember something like that being in the works around that time.. they called up players to host radio shows and such.. to 'stream' audio into the game.. you're right. that was a great idea back then.. but I don't think there are enough serious streamers out there that play a wide enough variety of music.. to make that a really large thing.. no matter how awesome it may sound.

    'Most of the original posts seem to be gone' ^ because this would have made dayz awesome.. but we can't have nice things apparently... :( the radio station was a thing a while back.. like you said.. but I think they've abandoned that because it's to much work.. relaying the players mics to the entire server.. plus the fact that you will always have trolls... rick roll becomes a think very quickly.. and when the entire server has to listen to that for an hour or so.. (5 people defend the radio station, while the other blasts crappy tunes at us.. because shits and giggles) maybe that's why it was not mentioned anymore.. not even mentioning the people that are outright idiots.. (you can just wait for people to spew their religious believes over that server radio, from a muslim call to prayer. all the way down to sieg heil quotes because some people are still jackasses.. that's my version of why there's no longer a radio(station) that works in the game. not to be forgotten.. since this is a post from 2013... dean hall was still at the helm.. and he really wanted to do great things with this game.. in a crazy amount of time.. the devs right now.. not so much.. they want to do a lot of things.. but at their own pace without dean shouting in their ears every 4 hours 'IS IT DONE YET?!' (which is really Ironic because 'It will be done, when its DONE' was deans master quote to begin with)

    first of all.. the double post is a bit annoying.. xD but that being said.. hmmm video settings thats a tricky one.. especially since you're running a laptop.. (which are crap mostly compared to their desktop equivalent) second: what build are you revering to? 0.59 or 0.60? if you're revering to .59.. that's something that can't be helped a whole lot.. since that rendering system is OLD.. and about as optimized as a brick.. even my pc (which is up to the task of any relevant game on medium/high) can't run dayz with the fps I want, on the settings I want. because its just not optimized enough yet.. even 0.60 will still need some minor tweaks here and there to get it running silky smooth. the best settings is something you should mess around with,, general guideline I use on .59 rendering 100-120% V-sync: disabled objects high terrain: high clouds: low shadows: normal resolution 1920x1080 (native monitor res.) video memory: auto texture detail: high texture rendering: high anti aliasing: disabled ATOC: arma 2 all trees+grass edge smoothing: high HDR quality: low post process quality: disabled ambient occlusion: disabled gives me decent frames (for .59) and if that is still not enough FPS.. do 'test settings' then check again.. and tweak down the settings until you find something that is acceptable to you. cheers, Ves

    *goes to twitter* *finds brian hicks* *sees nothing dayz related is posted* *leaves* ^ thats about the most updated wiki you'll find atm.. nothing is known about 0.60 or when its coming out or whatever, the only thing that's known: they're working on it AND 'it will be done when its done' #deanhall DayZ dev twitter page and their posts here.. are as much as we'll get most days.. the monthly updates that tell us what their working on the next 6 months and the progress their making with the latest 0.60 build.

    this makes me wonder.. '- Replacement of legacy particle system (Smoke, Debris, Blood, Freezing Breath, Fires, etc)' how will this look in the future? red stains on clothing.. (that can only be removed by 'washing' your clothes with improv. soap (human lard?) in a pond? or near a waterpump? since dayz has nu running water in the game... like a river or waterfall somewhere up north.. having your clothes ruined is one thing.. but if you can get a splash of blood on your clothes.. that would make for great RP.. you kill someone.. that belongs to your group.. because reasons.. and the other group members spot blood splatters on your clothing or a significant red stain of blood, how did that happen? (first obvious question) and where is person X? (whoops now you're screwed...) now all we need... is the mother of all doomsday explosives.. 'pipe bomb' gunpowder from bullets cylindrical shaped tube (from construction sites?) buckshot pallets, piece of cord for the fuse, and duct tape
