    Retention Dropping

Probably has something to do with people not playing the game every day. As long as th 24 hour number is above 100k, Dayz is still doing far better than most online games out there.

    1.7.2 bugs FFS STICKY THIS

It would be nice to have a thread showing the collection of known bugs, but entirely for different reasons from the OP's complaints. Sense of entitlement on kids these days I say.

Don't move DayZ to Arma 3

I would be happy that the development is actually continuing on an alpha test mod instead of asking for it to be further developed on an older engine that has less capabilities. I personally would not enjoy playing Dayz on the cold war assault client, I'm sure I will feel the same way once I'm playing it on the Arma 3 client. I feel kind of bad for people that are shelling out 30$ thinking that there will be servers available and they will be able to get many hours of playtime for the 30 bucks the spent though. Hopefully the plans for the future of Dayz will be laid out and made public once the mod moves to arma 3, since it would be kind of sad once again should people dump 60$ on arma 3, only to have to buy standalone DayZ a few months later for X$ to continue playing.

    L85 needs to be changed

I'm fairly certain that the loot drop % chances that you referenced are outdated since teh FN FAL is by far the most common drop.

    L85 needs to be changed

The thermal feature should require batteries.

    The Sociopathy problem

Real world: You can't respawn Dayz: You can respawn, it's a minor inconvenience. You also respawn with the knowledge of any tents that you had in your past life, as well as teh knowledge of where your dead body is form your previous life.
  9. IF the database was wiped after they took the stats down, its' quite likely the life expectancy is inflated due to many experienced players being alive for multiple days, and not many new players dying in 10 minutes (yet). I would expect it to drop consistently if thats the case.
  10. Not entirely accurate, I was killed by a bandit a few days ago and my body dissapeared instantly with no alt f4. I was waiting on the you are dead screen talking to my friends and they told me they couldn't see my body or loot it (they killed the bandit)
  11. Not sure which is worse, your aim, or that you dc'ed like a pussy
  12. Trying to get on thsi server to go steal the cars we stole before the server was restarted again since they disappeared after the restart. 15/40 players online 12:44 AM UTC
  13. Server hopping and d/c'ing to avoid death flag your account as an exploiter. The server then proceeds to make sure that no match boxes spawn near your location, and any that are already spawned will be instantly deleted when you reach a 500m proximity. The lesson here is: Stop exploiting and you will get matches.

Ten Reasons why Kill on Sight is 'Realistic'

I see tons of theories in regards to this topic about what would people do during a zombie apocalypse. These theories fail to account for the fact that in DayZ, your life is merely a number in a database. When you "die", some numbers are altered and your location in a game world in changed (you never die). Perhaps the theories should be altered to include the fact that anything that happens that would take your life, merely removes your possessions and relocates you to another location. To put it simply, what would immortal beings do during a zombie apocalypse. I don't think it's logical to expect people to behave like they do in real life, considering death (among other things that have a huge impact) is very very far from reality in DayZ. Eventually the heavy risk takers that exist in DayZ would die out in a real life zombie apocalypse.

    Thermal scope hax?

  16. Pretty sure increasing the distance that the zombies begin to spawn would have a similar effect. I remember reading someone posting that most servers run around 800m view distance so if zombies spawned 800m you wouldn't be able to just scout out a town for zombies to see if anyone's home.
  17. Lately some friends and I have been raiding a tent city with multiple vehicles (for about 3 days now). We have left each time we raid with usually 3 or so vehicles. Every time we have taken vehicles there has been a server restart shortly afterwards. We usually log in shortly after the restart to check on the vehicle status, and they always disappear. The loot that we removed from the vehicles did remain in our tents. Vehicles were saved multiple times by multiple people. Yesterday, we raided this tent city and left with a V3S, offroad truck and a car. We brought them 5km east into the northern forest to unload them, since we figured they would just disappear once again. We had the vehicles parked right up where our tents were then as usual, the server was restarted. WE rejoined the server immediately as it came back up, were the first ones in the server. All 3 vehicles were gone. The time has also changed, was morning now and prior to the restart it was the evening. Shortly afterwards (about 10 minutes) we were taken to the screen with the scoreboard where you only have option to disconnect or hit "im ready". There was a 45 second timer here couting down that said timeout. I believe the server was restarted again, this time we came in as soon as the server came up again and the vehicles had returned. The time has also changed again, it was now very dark in the night. The main reason I share this story is that It seems that something is not functioning properly. My friends and I aren't sure if this is normal, a bug or perhaps admin abuse (not really sure what admins can do). Another thing that we noticed is that when this occurs the vehicles we stole end up back at the camp we stole them from, with the same items that were left in them. WE had gone to check the camp 3 times to see if the vehicles had returned there after a restart, and each tiem they did. I took several screenshots on our last trip to raid this camp, as well as screenshots of the vehicles at our encampment for what it's worth. So what do you guys think is the cause of this?
  18. Saved them all multiple times while unloading them.

    Tent Exact Amount of Storage

Tents disappear after 2 days after you have died; you can make a new tent after your death or reclaim items from the existing one, however you cannot take it even if you own it. In 1.7 it appears that tents last much longer after death. The duration after death is unknown atm, it's estimated to be 6+days on the wiki If you don't know how much a tent holds, you should probably visit the wiki to see what else it is that you don't know, imo.

    Carbonated Trading

If I could buy anything it would be the grid that your doing your trades in. I would give one bullet in flight for it.
  21. respawning after dying isn't realistic. shall we remove that? How do you know kill on sight wouldn't be realistic in a zombie apocalypse? There's no proof that this wouldn't happen, only theories.
  22. A creative way of how you spawn in to a new server (when u switch servers) is all that is needed to fix this. There has been many suggestions and I'm sure the devs can figure out something that works. I am against having your character locked to one server.
  23. So me and some friends just raided a tent city with over a dozen tents. We also found 2 cargo trucks and a pickup near the city which we took back to our base with us. Upon arriving at base we began unloading some of the gear into tents. We were doing this for easily 20+ minutes. Then, the server restarted. When we had returned, as soon as the server was unlocked, all 3 vehicles were gone. We checked tents to verify that the loot we had gathered was still there, and it was. So 2 questions, 1. What happened to the trucks? 2. What happens when you flatten a tent?
