Oh thank's i didn't know that. i hope so. any kind of customization, story making tools, would be awesome.
-
Hello Guys, Once upon a time, there were an item in the game, called "Pen", and i'm here to tell you why i need it back. DayZ came out with promise of making your story, and Pen absolutely contributes toward that goal. Actually, i think customization as a feature completely changes how we can play the game. but at this point i'm not so sure there is a plan for that ATM. As an example i would like to bring up The Tent City event which was the best thing happened to me in this game so far, and i would like to recreate the event too. Here it is: Here's the full set of note's: https://imgur.com/a/8u1PA Regards,

Hey Guys, The best thing ever happened to me in this game was the Tent City event. it was a great gathering with folk's from DayZ's old Forum to test a hotfix in experimental branch, in DayZ 0.53, related to a bug that caused desync when you came near tents with item's inside. people bring trucks full of items leaving them there for people to go to other cities to fill up tent's,some people bring tents, some made food for the other's, some people guarded in the roof's of novaya petrovka's apartment's, we had fun with people just passing by and it got crowded at times, we had the suicide, To all those who participated in this great experience, We did some ridiculously funny stuff but it was a great experience that i never forget, thank you and i would love to do it again. Here's some two pictures and a link to full set of pictures: https://imgur.com/a/Nf6Il? Full set of notes left in the barrel and my own note: https://imgur.com/a/8u1PA Thank's for reading this,

Internal testing of the new content update 08/08/2018
VahidkinG(2ndAcc) replied to ImpulZ's topic in News & Announcements
There are videos showing MOCOP sessions for zombies and character movement, There are videos showing developers recording in-game sounds and this two alone should be enough to clear any doubt related to development progress and work. If thats not enough, there are videos and gifs on the progress of each part of the development for two weeks in SR and almost daily reports in twitter. If your asking for information about development progress there is plenty of updates, but if your just want to put pressure on developers, just don't they had enough already. -

after some times being away from dayz, i can see myself to play dayz again with 0.62 for sure. this is awesome stuff devs, can't wait. one big question in mind, Can we expect any changes to how leafs of trees look like? is it me or you think the same that leafs look a bit simple (in terms of 3d objects and textures) and out-dated? -
They are on a holiday break and i don't think we should wait for it :)
-
A no to this. this game suppose to be hardcore and such thing should't be there. we already want so called "Bambi phase" to be longer and the first suggestion make it shorter. the second suggestion it's against the whole sandbox side of the game, this way the system force you to play an specific role. the third part, there is something like this in development. it's called soft skills and the reason is soft skills shouldn't interfere with control of the player or giving such big advantage as better accuracy. they only work on roles like medic or crafter for the animation time or changing the needed resources for an action. nothing will ever give player advantage in accuracy.

Let's talk about new animations
VahidkinG(2ndAcc) replied to Baty Alquawen's topic in News & Announcements
Okey now, this is a good discussion :) I would like to see a different animation for running up hills, im asking this frequently from day 1 of development. running up hills is so clunky and awful ATM. -
These map changes will bring back NEAF era emptiness of the west.
VahidkinG(2ndAcc) replied to Connect3d's topic in General Discussion
That NEAF madness your talking about won't happen again, let me explain: It all depends on how the game handles economy. back then, it was impossible for the game to actually recognize what region the loot spawn points are in, that was why we saw all those high end military drops there. it also happened with prison buildings till they decided to remove all the loots from that building. However, devs have a more advance control on loot's now and they can control where, how many in building, how many in server, how many SVDs across all servers spawns and ETC ... i suppose they reach the point that they can control loot over regions so we should not see things like AK's in the east because that's not the region those things spawns. i think it's more for AMMO or military level clothes and stuff like that. i don't really know the state of loot controls over regions, but i can only suppose it's about finished and we can have it soon, also expect prison buildings to spawn loot soon too. even if thats not finished, they can easily remove loots for now untill the feature is ready to use. -
Well, i'm for one want to thanks them too and dean and hicks for such an awesome job. i most say, what @ColdAtrophy said is right. .60 wasn't that much fun but a very important update. .61 is much better, dynamic spawn of infected is awesome and wolfs are great danger even to a guy who goes full military. i do hope that they managed to fix server performance issues and we are good to go.
-
As of .61, Winchester and suppressed scorpion is all i need and that's because i don't really like to all the way to military area and get KoSed and the scorpion is for killing zombies because theirs a lot of those and we need a suppressor and i found out scorpion is the most common one.

Are those "fixes" temporary or this is really way dayz dev's gonna follow
VahidkinG(2ndAcc) replied to gaweu's topic in General Discussion
I really like to point out a few things here: 1. In development, time and milestones are much more important to follow than fixing a bug. as it was pointed out before, Alpha means making the base of game, feature development. what your looking form that huge bug fixing can cost time and get broken when new stuff are added.most of the bugs in this game are related to animation system and damage module and the clunky controls. example: you should not start fixing that apple picking bug in legacy system while you are working on a new animation system which will fix it and several other bugs. 2. Camo buildings don't spawn loot because the regional control over loot is not yet finished, not because of the glitches which i think they did fix those. devs simply don't want military loot spawn near coastal cities and this needs regional control over economy. 3. i don't think they did remove weapons from the heli crashes, did you consider they might wanted try new things!? as in the big text says when you launch the game, bad design decision might be made. 4. it's very critical that we understand that we don't call the shots here, this is not how a team works. a team needs a leader which sees stuff beyond others perspective because well, that's his job and trust me, hicks is just the right guys for it. -
Hello Folks, I don't even know how to start this, but i'm pretty sure a screenshot of The Tent City will do. How did it all started?! well, at some point in game which for some messed up reasons i don't recall the version, item's inside tents and vehicle's storage started to cause huge lags to the point that you disconnect from the game. devs decided to make an hotfix to this and they put it on experimental and said test it you lazy bastards (not the exact word but, eh) and that was the spark. i came up with an idea of converting "Novaya petrovka" to a testing place. i set up some tent's and just said to everyone in forum (in experimental discussion topic) that i did it and i will be honored to have some fellow testers, filling up the tent's but i never imagine that this will get that big because well, at that point forum's activity was lower than now and devs focus was mainly on reddit and twitter and stuff like that. Just for the record, we managed to have somewhere around 73 persistent storages (tent's, barrels, Trucks) and that alone is just awesome. (one thing i really like to mention here is, this might be my idea or thing or whatever but that's all the forum's great members doing. i really like to thank you all, this is probably my best gaming experience to date.) Here's some screenshots... Here you can find all other screenshot's that i uploaded. The Last State Of The Camp This are NOT all the tent's, there are so much more that can't fit in screenshot. there is even some in apartments. Credit to: @nl The Notes when the experience came to an end, me or someone else (can't recall) found notes and i just said, hell, let's all do this. this is the best part of this topic so don't miss this. if you want to get some sense of what an experience it was, the only way is to read the notes people left behind. some of this notes are really touchy. i really recommend everyone to read those. i don't think i have the picture of all the notes, but this is the best i could come up with. one more thing to mention, because there were so many notes, i can't put all here so please click on here to see The Notes. there's my own note. Guys, this was great. this was actually great. i hope someday we can do it again. If anyone has anything of this, please do share. Have A Nice one, Vahid

The Good Old Forum's Camp - The Tent City
VahidkinG(2ndAcc) replied to VahidkinG(2ndAcc)'s topic in Gallery
@nl Thanks man for those links and the video. yepe, i just wanted to remind everyone what we did because it was great to be honest and second, this is how you do it. not going around and KoSing stuff. but the thing that made me to make the topic again is the notes. i just read those and i said not sharing is a waist. and yes, if devs made those white listed servers it would be really cool but hey, it's like your in a hostage situation and asking police to give you a helicopter, it's never gonna happen, but the thought of it is great. Edit: One thing to add is, this is was great from a team work perspective. people did participate in many ways that we needed and that was just awesome to see. Some bring tents, some bring items, we had our pumpkin guys bringing us pumpkins, we had watches, we had testing team, we had fun people, we had people screw with anything and ... i mean, just the thought of is amazing. -
i didn't try out the bow yet, but i think you should put the bow in your hands and arrows in one slot of the hotbar then press the slot's number.

Great work so far devs, i absolutely love new environment changes. i'm strongly against the idea of doors being two-sided swing and i hope you don't add it into the game and find another solution to the issue. -
As a great man once said, for the current state? No, To see the game? No (You can watch streams and reviews and lets plays), for participating in development? possibly (for now, yes), and the great man was dean "rocket" hall and this statement has been made in 2013. but if you want my opinion, you should probably buy the game. yeah, it has lot's of bugs, balance issues, missing features, kinda slow updates and ... but still is a freaking awesome experience and totally worth the money your paying. i had hell lot's of fun since 2013, a lot more than i deserved for that price. you wont find anything like dayz out there (yeah you can probably find survival games, but nothing like dayz) and we are only half a year to next price tag i suppose.

If BI would surprise us with a brand new map in the final version, where should it be located?
VahidkinG(2ndAcc) replied to fabio_chavez's topic in General Discussion
damn man, why don't you move ? :O done with the jokes, so what do you suggest as a modern country which is a little bit harder to get guns ? :D -

Haha, i dunno man never been there just know it by the pictures. that was a random guess thought, i just like it to be modern, thats all. -

VahidkinG(2ndAcc) replied to fabio_chavez's topic in General Discussion
it's no surprise, they already said that they would make a new map, but after the product hits 1.0 and in the 5 year support which they promised. i for one like it to be in a modern country based on america, probably Texas, meh i dont know. i like the environment in TWD so something like that. the keyword here is being a modern country with big cities and some countries. -
dayz standalone single player mode
VahidkinG(2ndAcc) replied to jazzraill's topic in General Discussion
from what i know, there would be something like a local server at some point. -
no i know that we can't have 1K players, i meant we need a lot of players in which servers can't handle with the current tech. Still, my dream is a modern map with big towns and some country, different areas like amusement park with a working Ferris wheel, some stuff from sin city (vegas, poker bars and stuff), big ass stores, some countries with big houses and farm and again big store, fuel stations with an store :D, jungles with camps around and a lake that was used for teenage swimming (maybe some clothes around there) and ..... i can think of so many things right now and the atmosphere should be very good. i mean just the thought of an amusement park in the dark where there are clowns around and some wind ambient sounds is scary.
-
first i want to say this, great work man. while we are pretty sure that this map wont get expanded, this is what we want. a big, vast map with different areas. probably it can be done with the new maps that devs wanted to create. i hope next maps are bigger and take place in a modern city and countries like what there is in america. while this are all great things, there is challenges too. engine that can handle the map and everything in it, optimizing network and performance, servers being capable of handling over 1K players (probably enough?) and bringing that much player in a server.

Just to clarify things: Header images in S.R are always taken by players (atleast that's whats happening for some times) and if you read the bottom of the text, it says "Header image credit: X" and X is a player.
