  1. My favourite weapon list goes: CZ 550 > MP5 > Crossbow > L85
  2. I'd like to be a part of this. I have a few beefs with first person, but I could certainly deal with it. In real life you have a sense of where you are, you can feel your body and know where your arms and legs are, for instance. In first person, you might have half your body sticking out from cover and not actually be able to tell. I've also had a few times where I couldn't tell my weapon was lowered, or that i was crouched instead of standing while running, etc. I know third person isn't very immersive.. but it's even less immersive when you can't tell what your own character is doing and die because of it. I wish it was possible to make a much closer third person camera so it couldn't be used to see around walls and whatnot.
  3. play on hardcore servers, casuals
  4. spawn -> go to hospital -> head to stary -> either camp stary and kill whoever comes or kill the people already camping it (always someone) -> get bored and head to NW airfield -> clear it out with friends -> loot pile barracks -> get silenced M4s, NVGs, rangefinders, medium machine guns, high caliber snipers -> go to the coast and kill newbies out of boredom -> look for vehicles -> find none -> go kill more newbies out of boredom this is basically how it goes for me and my friends

    friendly server

Zombies are just an obstacle. Non-PvP would be unbearably boring. You'd have a good time for an hour or two before it got dull. Zombies generally take 1-2 hits from most guns, run at you predictably, are avoidable and rarely drop anything. Bandits are the real threats in the game. You generally have two types of bandits: IRL shit-heads who kill people for fun, and cautious players who would simply rather kill than be killed. The thought that you might be being hunted down, the idea that the guy you're teaming up with is just as nervous and suspicious of you as you are of him, and the risk-reward of potentially gaining another players valuables versus losing your own, is all central to the game. If you're sitting around with your IRL buddies shooting at zombies and not bothering being quiet so that bandits don't come for you.. you're simply doing it wrong.
  6. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ use the search function, rocket said theyre bugged and loot isn't appearing so dont bother
  7. Oh god, I love this server but I just got absolutely reamed on it. Packed up my tent to move it a few meters further into the trees, leaving the contents on the ground in the meantime.. and I get session lost. Lost M240, M136, M24, M14 AIM, 3 GPS and other assorted goodies. Mojo plz send me nudes as compensation I am very sad.
  8. theyll stay around your corpse eating it for quite awhile before eventually despawning
  9. this happened to my friend earlier. completely hidden behind a bush on a steep hill, no sign of an enemy, no gunshot, no blood loss, just instant death.

    Crashed Helo Wrecks

I've found 5 that had nothing. It's due to a cleanup script removing the loot shortly after the wreck is spawned - long before players ever manage to find them.
  11. cleanup scripts are removing the loot before players get to them, itll be fixed, eventually.
  12. looks like you answered your own question in another thread
  13. I died a few hours after placing my tent, the server restarted, and when I got to my tent (less than 12 hours after placing it, let alone death) it was unbound to me. I think if you die and the server restarts, the tent is unbound. All my items were gone and I am unable to pick it up. Not only did I lose my stuff, I have to find a new tent-spot because now there's a ghost-tent stuck where I want mine.
  14. Survivors have actually killed me (as a survivor) far more often than bandits have. I had 11k humanity 2 days ago but now im down to -8000 and it keeps getting lower; survivors shoot at me even if I see them first and say im friendly. Mind you, the -19000 came from fighting people off at the NW airfield with a group of 11. We were mixed survivors and bandits and couldn't afford to risk letting anyone near us.
  15. dude, DayZ playerbase is getting HUGE. i can only hope we get 100% safe, functional tents soon because im scared to go near the coast with all my high level loot lest i get swarmed my makarovs and CZ 550s
