I tried to come back to DayZ after a few months of not playing, and I saw that the DayZ mod was now available through Steam, so supposedly there s no need for Commander or Six Updater. I really like the idea of only using Steam. But, it's not working. Connecting failed on every server, every time. I launched Arma2 and OA, verified integrity of game cache, installed the newest beta patches manually. I don't know what else to do. I also did a netsh winsock reset, and restarted my PC and Steam. I also run Steam as an admin. What do? I will update this post with a solution once I find one that works. EDIT::: Resolved, shitty Windows 8 firewall was blocking the app and not telling me about it.

So I was sneaking around Cherno with a Winny and patrol pack when I hear 2 guys firing AKMs into a giant train of zombies entering a house. I tried contacting them via DC but they wouldn't respond. So I took them both out with headshots before they knew where I was coming from. Lo and behold, GPS and NVGs!!!!11!!!111 Problem is, I'm in the middle of Cherno on a busy server, I dont have a large pack and have no medical supplies whatsoever. Should I risk going to the medical tents or can i get some medical supplies in another place besides Berezino and Elektro?

I have a UAZ on that server, but it seems to have disappeared. (the server, not the vehicle)... I also have a couple of tents hidden on that server as well.

Given enough time, any high-profile internet thread will devolve into either idiotic rehashed arguments about religion or politics or other ad hominem-ridden drivel. What seems to be a common characteristic is this mind-numbingly irritating tendency of people to post shit that they haven't spent more than 2 seconds thinking about. Said shit then irritates other readers and stirs the same reaction, making it a vicious cycle where people can't seem to refrain from swearing at each other's dumb faces. Case in point. Anyway yes, technically we are not ENTITLED anything but complete radio silence without prior explanation from rocket on the forums/twitter for what - 4 days now? Come on, that is understandably something people will be annoyed at considering how active he has been at communicating in the past.
