Survival is the goal. That's what I love about DayZ. There is no end game like my wow buddy asked. This game lets the goal be stay alive and further your own ambitions.

Im not a huge fan of how easy it is for the zombie's to finger swipe me and snap a limb or cut me wide open. I dont mind the hp loss but ive had a zombie hit me once and cause bleeding, knock me under, or break a bone which is far too frequent. I still think they should be able to do that kind of dmg but I think it's currently too frequent.

I understand Rocket doesn't approve of this. But to put it simply, ppl want to play together with friends and a 2hr run to link up with friends isn't something MOST ppl are up for.

I was alive for 10 days. Had an m4 and 8 clips, g17, food and water for days. Fully loaded and in survive forever mode. Then we found a bus and that's when things went wrong fast. I was a passanger driving through the hills when I got bored and started seeing what I could access while sitting. I clicked my mousewheel and it glitched out and wouldnt let me select or abort. all i could do was click exit. so eventually I did and alerted my comrades that I wasnt on the bus any longer and to hold up. "hold up" to me means stop. Hold up to Murphy means go in reverse! And that my friends is when my character of 10 days was no more. Squished under the tires of a city buss and instantly dead. We laughed for 20 min straight. Yes it sucked to die but that memory will live on with us forever.

If i didn't break my leg by using a well, or entering the control tower at the airfield, or stepping over a pile of rubble ect ect so on and so forth I'd be on board with what u say. The terrain is easily as dangerous as zombies when it comes to getting your leg broken tho.

This is a friendly question. I have a rifle equipped and I have a hatchet in my toolbelt. When I switch from my rifle to my hatchet it drops my rifle and it disapears. Is there any way to prevent this through smart equipment management or is there a trick I can use to not lose my gear?

ok. So it's still a bug that needs to be addressed. I had the starting backpack so I couldnt hold a rifle. That was what i tried to do but realized it was too small hehe.

Why cant I have a pistol in one hand and a flashlight in my other hand. People shoot pistols with one hand all the time. Only being able to use 1 or the other isnt very realistic and takes away the immersion effect.

and realism night time when I get home to play because its 8pm and in dayz land that means night time is when I get to play every time. I need to quit my job or ping to fuck to actually play during normal dayz daytime hours. Gotta call not fun on this one.

the fact that a flashlight takes up 5 slots is also a little absurd. I wear cargo pants bitch! :)

have at it if you have a real legit comeback. I think I have a legit gripe. I'm fine playing dayz at night sometimes, just not everytime. That gets old fast. I actually enjoy realism, but I don't need a video game to hand cuff me into only getting to see 1 side of the game. DayZ is a totally different experience day vs night and I would like to have the freedom to enjoy both, and not have the game follow my real life time. :) Oh they make it difficult dont they :)

It's just not realistic to have no means of defending myself. Gimme my fists if nothing else. It's so unrealistic it's frustrating. I could care less about a gun, but lemme at least use my fists or pick up something I can hit a zombo with. I hate running like a bitch! I wanna go down swinging or brain them before they eat my brains! :)

I love this game. I love how hard it is. I love how brutal it is. I can't stop playing it. I can only play after work which is 7pm pst or later and everywhere except for shitty euro servers is night time. I am curious what you guys think about having days be shortened. Like a 3 hr daytime and a 3 hr nighttime. That way the entire experiance can be enjoyed in one session. Make it long enough that it still feels legit but not so long that im sitting in an empty server cause everyone is leaving for daytime servers. Thoughts?

Yes and No Realism good. No gun fine....but if I don't get a gun then give me a bat or a crowbar or an axe or a knife or something that in RL would actually be in every house that one uses to defend himself. I'm totally fine with not starting with a gun, but to remove it without having the most basic means of one defending himself (melee) available seems dumb and not very well thought out. If that isn't possible (due to limitations of the engine) then it's not realistic...so to compensate i'll take a gun with minimal ammo.
