SideStrafe is probably using some nasty render settings in Vegas.

You might have to reinstall Arma2 and Arma2:OA.

If you spawn in the debug land, just abort and switch servers. I have never had to restart due to this. I always switch servers and I spawn where I logged off normally. :)

The reason you are getting put back to the main menu is because you are not running Steam as administrator. Please try doing this and it should solve your issue.

Have you tried running Steam as administrator?

Are you on the latest beta patch? You also use Six Launcher to update Day Z.

That is the game. What is the problem? Oh, you don't spawn with a gun anymore? It's been updated. It is now more cruel for players. As for the choosing your gender after each respawn, it is just an extra mouse click to start playing again.

You MUST update the beta to version 93965 (which is the latest). The server name should provide what version you need to join. Eg. US 26 (v1.7.1.5/Beta 93965) [Reg] [uTC-08:00] - dayzmod.com

You should be able to press "Ok" when you get that error. It should then continue to load the game you joined. If you are brought back to the main menu, run Steam as administrator. (Assuming you are using Steam to play this)

Alright. Hope it works. It's such a fun mod :)

1) Make sure you are on the latest Day Z patch and playing on a compatible server. 2) Make sure you graphics card is able to handle your game performance settings. Change the 3D and Interface resolutions down and see it that fixes it. 3) As EpeeNoire said, your graphics card may be overheating. Try using a Gpu overclock program to change your fan speed. I personally use GPU Tweak. You can use Catalyst Control Centre if you are using a compatible GPU.

You are going to want to download a program called "Six Launcher". I will provide a download to it below. It will automatically update your Day Z mod to the latest released patch and provide a full list of available servers. Would you mind trying it? I had the "bad cd" error too. I did this and I can now play Day Z.

Ah, the bad CD key error. You basically have to go into 'Regedit' and copy your CD key from Arma2 over to Arma2:OA. Easy process, let me find a tutorial. Tutorial on how to fix "bad CD key for Arma 2 :OA --- Couldn't find one so I'll make one. Go into Regedit (search for it in windows) and navigate through the following files: 1) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE 2) SOFTWARE 3) Bohemia Interactive Studio Click the folder called "ArmA 2" and to the right you will see something called "KEY". double click this and it will open a new window. Copy the funny(hex) code (CTRL-C). Now go into the folder called "Arma 2 OA". You shouldn't see a "KEY" in this one, that's why your having this problem. Right click the right side of the screen and click "New" and click "Binary Value". Rename this "new value" to "Key". Double click it and paste in your Arma2 key. Your done. Try it and it should work, as it worked for me and a few friends.

Please explain your problem in a format that will be more understandable. Also please explain any errors you get. We can't help you if we don't know what you "can't get to work."

Okay, let me have a go at this... 1) Latest patch (of this me posting this) is 1.7.1.5 3) If you get the error "you cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependant on downloadable content that has been deleted.chernarus" - Try uninstalling Arma2 and OA, and reinstalling them. It has worked for a few people. 4) I've had that too. Don't quote me on this, but I think there is still bugs with chat, either that or everyone just didn't want to talk :P 5) That error is a problem for everyone. Just click "OK" and the game should continue to load. If you are put back to the main menu, Run Steam as Administrator (assuming you are using steam) 6) Gaming loading is/was slow with previous patches. 1.7.1.5 seems to be quicker loading for servers. Try the above and this one should sort itself out.

I would of suggested everything that you tried. Thanks for at least including what you've done. :) What are your computer specs? This game is really heavy on the graphics card.

Just some things you can double check to try and make it work: - Make sure you are on the newest patch for DayZ. - Make sure Batleye is updated to the newest patch. - When you spawn the empty field, press ESC, Abort, Disconnect, and then press OK. It should respawn you inside the map. :s

Will people stop bitching about not spawning without a weapon? It's part of the mod now. As for the error, I can't directly tell you how I fixed it, but I did this and now everything works: 1) Run steam as admin. 2) Update Batleye files, I just copy the ones in Arma2 and put them in Arma2: OA since they won't download from steam. I forget exactly what else I did, but now that I think about it, these 2 might fix it.

Although it does make the game harder for new players, I like how it is easier to get small groups now. No need to worry about being back stabbed instantly. :)
