So this is the first time that I have come across what may be considered hacking but this is some pretty strange stuff. I felt the same way when I started. The very first time that I played I was lucky and had a handgun. I made my way into towns and eventually found a shot gun. Then I got cocky and went to Elektro and had some fun checking the town out. Mind you this was when we were dealing with supper zeds that could see through walls and hear your from miles away. I had fun and looted some stuff. Then I died. I then spawned without a weapon on the coast away from civilization. I tried the same tactics I looked for a gun as if I already had one to protect my self with. This obviously didn't work, I died again, and again, and again. This cycle happened several times, there was a few days where I was fed up and refused to play the game. Then it hit me I was trying to play it like a video game when in reality this is a simulator. So my tactics changed. I recalled my military training, SEER training can be applied to the game quite effectively, MOUT works very well too. And success I now had a hatchet and some extra supplies. I made sure not to make the same mistakes that I made before I played cautiously and avoided known hot zones. This game is slow, and by slow I mean realistically slow. Operations take hours sometimes even days, planning has to go into everything that you do and back ups have to be implemented. One does not simply 'play' DayZ... you live it. I'm now sitting happy with a small camp, an AK cobra and G17, and the ability to create my own food. I still avoid large cities like the plague, why? Well in real life I would never venture into a city on my own, because I don't trust people. The game might not be for you, but don't give up on it just because its hard and people are assholes. My goal in the zombie Apocalypse is to survive not become a murdering kleptomaniac. TL;DR Man up, its a hard game. Don't quit it because other people ruined it for you.
