I was wondering if someone knows how tall a player is in DayZ. Tried to look around but didn't find anything figured it would be easier to ask. Thanks, Nyxe.

m107 milldots are accurate when zooming, not otherwise it seems. just tested it

but the maths is sound right? if i figure out theyre 400m away, zero to 400, they will be direct in my center crosshair ? where the wires cross.

If a player is 1.8 meters tall, you can measure them with the scope and if he's 4 mil dots high, it means i can do: 1.8 (height of object in yard/meters) * 1000 / 4 (mil dot height) = 450 meters range to player. Assuming you're level with the target. Not confirmed this though but it's how it works in real life afaik. edit: if you have a sniper that zooms it wont be as accurate as the milldots (milliradians) will be off. But im not 100%.

(:, was just being over dramatic but you got the picture xD. I usually dont log in unless another friend is playing who is a good shot ;P. Raided airfield with my M14, guillie, full accessories, plenty of supplies. Was such a rush since we all had good items to risk. Gonna probably give the m107 to a clan member since the m14 is amazing. I only bring the m107 out when we're scouting towns beforehand or if im playing as recon so it's a big burden for 10-14 slots of backpack room (with ammo). Be cool if the zombies at the NW airfield were wearing like body armor, and you need a headshot or higher powered shot to 1 hit them. For instance makarov takes 8 shots. m1911 2 shots chest, rifles 1. Would maybe prevent people farming this straight away. A lot of people spawn + run to airfield now :P skipping all the "content". -

This as probably been asked again and again and i'm sorry. However, can anyone explain the current state of helicopters in game? Are they spawning (only see crashes on some servers, never see fixable ones)? 3 per server? 3 per restart? Anything relevant whilst we're on topic? Thanks a lot (: Also I was wondering how far you can travel off of the map before you either: 1) hit a invisible wall 2) fall off the edge 3) die? (: would appreciate as much info as you can provide.

Thanks for confirming vipeax. Does that mean theyre not in the game or just not spawning? Ah, I really want one... I don't think they should have weaponry on them however, just for transport purposes with my clan. While we're on the subject of vehicles, when do they respawn? If there's a bus in cherno, and someone takes it... does it come back next restart? or if it blows up will it come back next restart? etc (:

Are helicopters spawning? or do they spawn once per server. Restarting wont respawn them?

my friend found 2 in a row today within minutes of each other, and i found one after restart with gear in. So im guessing the gear + location changes on reset. As far as the real fixable heli's go there's about 9 spawn locations but I don't think they're spawning. Be nice to have someone confirm this. Also really interested in what happens when u head off the map... must be a barrier somewhere?

Aggro is insane now, but i think it's more fun playing like that, I just don't like how much noise I make when running. I don't know about anyone else but I can run just as quiet as i can walk in real life... At the moment I'll be running and zombies will aggro around corners etc, or facing away because of the noise. TLDR: I like the visual aggro, If a zombie sees prey it would obviouslly run to it. however the sound aggro makes this aggro pointless atm. Don't like sound aggro (perhaps make them investigate noises such as gunshots, drastically reduce the noise from moving around etc.) -
Is this allowed? so many servers locked recently so many servers, 1/76 [locked] Rage!. lol. lol its so funny though, 0/50 and it instantly fills up xD

why are you all raging at each other? was a simple question. This server was locked for at least 30 minutes.

The only change I don't like is the aggro, I think they've fixed the common loot spawning bug with 1.7.1.2, I'd hate to think what a casual gamer would experience when trying this mod. I guess it also comes down to if they want a huge player base or some hardcore players. Think of it like HoN and LoL. -

In arma 2 you don't have to crawl to survive, it's what im currently playing. It seems that the community is half and half on the subject so far however, obviously not going to reach a high enough number of votes to reach a good consensus though. If the aggro isn't changed I will still play because the PvP in the game is amazing. It just means I won't be going in towns ever again since they were not worth visiting before zombies were buffed, now there is absolutely no reason to enter town. It also means you'll all be crawling around waiting to be hit by a sniper. -

Just want to see what the community thinks. Vote on the poll so we can give the devs our general feelings towards the last patch. I'm sure everyone likes everything except the aggro ranges and being forced to crawl. Poll already has double the amount of people voting for patch 1.7.0. -

I had the same experience, and its more viable to run through cherno and aggro all your zombies onto someone else instead of crawling, or you can just aggro all cherno and run through a building to lose them. Prefered crouch-walking and crawling at vital points in 1.7. -
