More funny moments... Three of us were trekking north towards the airfield, about 3/4 of the way there after a lot of running we come upto a town, seems quiet other than zombies. We pile into a house and start looking for loot. The welshman shouts "OH MY GOD ITS A WATER PUMP I CAN REFILL MY BOTTLE!" he says excitedly as he skips out of the front door, *boom* and we see his explode out the window. Then we proceed in killing the 5 survivors in the town while hes on the beach with a brand new pistol. We made it to the airfield and had a tonne of nice gear, grenades, M4's etc. The Welshman is on his 2nd attempt at running back, hes a little over halfway there and optimistic, out of nowhere he shouts "I JUST GOT FACKIN RUN OVER! Fuck this shit game" Dying is a pain in the arse but it's fucking classic when it's your teammates.

I honestly don't know how you have ANY problem getting pills and morphine. All over hospitals and medtents there are medboxes that contain like 5-10 of each as well as Epi and Blood bags. Other than that, going into Chern or Elektro I have not once failed to find a corpse with painkillers or morphine or both when I needed them. The fact you're the only person I've ever seen complain about a lack of these items shows that it's not at all something that "needs" to change.

We're not a clan or anything like that, just a group of 4 friends (2 of which I've played different games with for years), who like to log in and play together. We're bandits, we generally shoot first and ask questions later, and we get a lot of our gear this way. It's just the way we enjoy it, as we make trips to the airfields for gear, and all over the map, and don't like to lose it or have to run half the map back to our friends because someone decided to get a few headshots off before dying after being asked if they're friendly. Our survival is all we care about. We're all around 22ish. Two Englishman, a Welshman, and a Finlander. We don't take stuff too seriously, we banter alot, and we have alot of fun, but we don't play DayZ like CoD either, against other survivors DayZ is a game of patience. Anyway, if you're a likeminded bandit that plays in our timezone (anywhere from 12pm - 12am GMT) then PM me a little about yourself and please have a mic and no problem with using Teamspeak and I'll throw you the IP. tldr?

So you've died, what's your course of action on a new character?

Look for a gun, generally only bother scouring small towns/villages if its light with zombies, if it's got so many that I'd have to crawl then I don't bother. If I see a barn, I'll clear it and check for a CZ550 or Winchester. I do this while heading towards my friends. I try not to play alone as I just can't handle it, and at night I get far too twitchy and freaked out, especially when I've got a bunch of really nice stuff and I've lasted for a couple of days really not wanting to die. Once I meet up with friends we decide what we want to do and what we need, first priority is always guns and ammo, then it's blood bags and epi. Then we decide what we want to do next, take a trip north? Head into Cherno and find some targets? -
A friend I play with, always seems to hear gunshots and screaming zombies before they're in our faces, but I very rarely hear gunshots in the distance, and occasionally I don't hear the zombie scream even when it doesn't seem like it's that far away, but he does. We have the same onboard sound, the same "sound sampling" though I don't know if that makes a difference. I have HD555's headphones. If someone could suggest some tweaks that would be great.

One of the funniest experiences so far. Me and two friends had a lot of gear, but wanted more, and kills, so we went to Chernagorsk, once we were there we ran from street to street trying not to be seen, being night time it was pretty hard to dodge zombies anyway, we ended up having to crawl straight through the middle of a zombie infested field, when shots started going off really close, they weren't at us but close enough to freak us out, but we couldn't move any faster so we kept crawling, then my friend at the back of our line of crawling soldiers realized there was a crawler zombie following him, and catching up, for the next 10 minutes we crawled towards the industrial sector with this crawling zombie gaining on us until he was nashing on our heels. Long story short, my friend spotted someone cross a road a fucking MILE away, shot at him with his winchester, alerted five thousand zombies, and we all legged it, he legged it straight to the hospital ladders, while I went round the back knowing he would be blocking the ladders and give my two friends time to get up. I turned a corner, and literally bumped into a bandit, not knowing if it was my friend I paniced, then he shot me in the face and left me to be chewed to death by a zombie. A minute later one of my friends said "is that you on the taller hospital roof next to me?" to the other friend, and before giving him a chance to reply, blasted him in the face. This game is really fun, and has given us some gems on teamspeak. The game for me is like 80/90% almost boredom, and 20/10% memorable moments. Teamspeak has been full of things like "Oh my god. I need to shit now." and "Theres a zombie downstairs! COME TO ME!... COME TO ME NOW IM NOT MOVING!". General pussy talk. Though tbf I've had my moments where I've sat in the corner of a dark room with a shotgun pointed at the door for over 15 minutes too.

So my friend bought OA with the understanding he could use Arma2Free. I've seen dozens of people claiming to have it working, but we haven't managed to get it working, he gets to the loading screen on a server then gets kicked back to server list. We've been using the Arma2Launcher. Anyone that's been successful, could you give some simple instructions? I saw the shortcut "Expansions;" etc way but wasn't sure if that was the way to get Arma2Free to work with Dayz.

I already have CO, as do two of my other friends I'm playing with, but one friend only had OA as it's STAND-ALONE. Why would he buy Arma2 for the sake of it when he can use ArmaFree? Tescos is a good supermarket, yet I don't buy more food than I need for the sake of it do I, idiot.

using Arma2Free? My friend has the same problem
-
Can you elaborate? My friend just bought OA to play DayZ as we read in a lot of other places that Arma2 Free works fine. Does he have to do anything special? I think £15 was enough to play one mod, £30 is a bit much.
