To clarify this for everyone: The setdamage.log is spammed by almost every player on your server. Ignore everything but lines with "1.000000" in them. It is the "1.000000" that are 100% confirmed hacks, nothing else. If anyone tells you anything otherwise, they don't know what they're talking about. I deal with these logs on a daily basis. There are a lot of unconfirmed suspicions of other types of lines being used by scripters as well but they remain unconfirmed. -

Sweet! This was unexpected :) It's great to see that the community can contribute to the mod. We may start looking into the mod files ourselves and send in improvements. Thanks for the combined effort! -
+1 for Bliss here as well. We have been running it for months and are very pleased of the control we have over the server operation and database

Thanks. We're open to suggestions for improvement, as well as criticism. We aim to continue improving our server and the hive on a regular basis. Over the coming weeks, we will be adding in more neat mapping objects. We do not go crazy with unrealistic amounts of items and strangely misplaced objects. We are creating a natural environment with a more post-apocalyptic feel than the original map has. -

Hackers insta-killing non-stop, how do we identify/report them?

So we've been dealing with a griefer (or more) coming onto our server over the past few days only to hack using severly damaging scripts, usually ending in insta-killing the entire server, destroying about 64 people's characters each time. We, as admins, are given no tools or means to deal with this issue, so i am asking: What can we do to investigate this? The logs do not show anything useable at all. If we provide the time of the incident and the server name, as well as a list of players that were online at the time, and send all this information to the DayZ / Community Support team, will this make a difference at all? Or are even the hive logs as useless as the server logs? I would imagine a single client triggering a kill/reset-all event on the server would be something that can be detected. Nevermind the "teleport" "invincible" "invisible" and "item" hackers that we've had to deal with. We are seriously considering suspending the server and support for the mod altogether to avoid having more players loose all their stuff and get upset with DayZ and our server. -
Yes, now that we have the off-topic questions answered: Has anyone been in the private business area in Hall 4.1 and check out Bohemia there? I guess most stuff said in there isn't supposed to be open to public but who knows..

no problem. btw, ironically there was no wifi at the gamescom when i was there, and my 3G pretty much didn't work probably because of network overload... It sounds ridiculous but even if they tried, they wouldn't be able to upload pics/vids at this point. I could, cause i went home, as i'm not staying for all 4 days...

Checked the booth today. The dogs are pretty awesome. They didnt really do much though, other than follow around, which isn't bad considering they would probably alert people otherwise.. Now some beans..

Yea that would be helpful. But i would suggest removing all lines for now, as the update may have significantly changed some of the detectable functions... I'm sure there will be updated scripts.txt's soon -

Go into your "scripts.txt" found in your cfgdayz/Battleye folder, and scroll down to line 40 and copy paste the line here. In either case, you should consider removing that line from the script.txt We've had the same issue in another line. It had to do something with "team switching". -
For all those getting kicked for "Script Restriction #55" today. This may have been a false positive and has been fixed. If you have been kicked for any other # number please report it here and we'll look into it. EDIT: Some of our hack-detection causes the person that the hack is used on (the victim) to get kicked from the server. This could, at times, be a good thing since the hacker is most likely trying to insta-kill you. So if you get kicked, it may have just saved your life... We will check if this was the case today.

No problem. Any other issues, let us know. Today there was one hacker that came on and insta-killed everyone. Though we managed to ban the player, it appears this is happening across all servers recently, with an undetected bypass/hack being freshly released and all. Battleye is sending global messages saying they are dealing with it.. Let's hope they mean it.

READ THIS: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?131759-New-BattlEye-features-for-server-admins For example, part of my scripts.txt looks like this 1 = writes "scripts.log" only 2 = writes to server console only 4 = Kicks player for ("Script Restriction #X") --> with #X being the line in the scripts.txt Combining the above values will cause combined action. example: 7 = (1+2+4) ALL Actions, log, console log, and kick 5 = (4+1) Kick and log 3 = (2+1) log and console log HOWEVER: All of the above are simply tools, YOU have to find out what type of hacks you are looking for. My scripts.txt is just an example and i will not publicly release the scripts.txt we are using to avoid hackers becoming aware of which hacks we can detect.

It appears vehicles randomly disappear and re-appear on server restarts, even after saving them. We have tested this out, with no real logic conclusion. This does seem to be a hive issue though. I can't confirm that cars are currently in, since i had a bus at some point but it keeps disappearing from the spot that i saved it in. A few days later its back in the same spot, now its gone again lol. BTW, No server has settings that can affect the vehicle spawn rate/amount or anything vehicle-related for that matter. If you found one vehicle, then there are more. The map is big after all. I'm sure there are some hidden camps... The server isn't that young, hence why there are a few groups who have created bases. EDIT: So i was talking to other server hosters on the IRC. It appears other servers are experiencing the same issues with vehicles not updating properly from the dayz hive... It's random though. Let's hope it gets fixed soon anyways.

So i just went to their IRC today and the admin-channel has this in the description: nobody had an answer as to what was wrong with gamespy in the first place, nor how it was fixed, and whether or not we will need to upgrade to 95777 in order for it to work.. but i guess we will see soon...
