I hope people get burned out! That way the rest of us can actually connect to a server without waiting for years.

Welcome to DayZ, a mod you cannot play because all servers are packed 24/7...

The Official Unofficial Bandit Removal Petition
Sabre (DayZ) replied to The Killing Joke's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Remove Bandit skin, and remove the bugged Humanity system. It's broken and serves no good. Enstead give us the ability to chose our own survivor skins, and perhaps make camo something you can find at military locations. (if possible in Arma2... I know it will be possible in Arma3) There is nothing realisitc about morphing into a KSK member because you shot someone in the face. Also it doesn't help to address the growing problem with the notorious Deathmatch-Mentality that has ruled this game ever since it became known outside the Arma community. -
Desert Camo in a Woodland enviroment... Sir you must be a genius... It represents the desert of his bandit soul' date=' man. [/quote'] Touché!

The map is too big. Solution to your problem: Uninstall Arma 2!

And that's why I like independent "developers" more. They actually deal with hackers and give them the proper treatment.

Arma is about scale. If you want your small run-n-gun maps then creep back to CoD, BF3, or whereever you came from.

"Deciding HOW you want to survive and what lengths you'll go to to do it?" Sadly this game only has one viable option for those of us who aren't in a clan. Kill any player you see. PvP hotspots exists, true, but from my experience you are as likely to be killed at NW airfield as you are in any small random town in the interior... This of cause is not a flaw in the game design, it has something to do with the players being unwilling to help each other and the general mentality that DayZ is just another Deathmatch Game. I hate the direction it has taken, but I've simply chosen to adapt. Sadly this means kill everything you see if you get the chance, because even noobs with makarovs can be a huge threat.

Immersion: More explorable houses and barricades!
Sabre (DayZ) replied to Plepple's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
No, the main obstacle is the prevailance of the CoD/BF3 crowd who just wants to shoot everything that moves because of their addition to stats and scoreboards. -
I really hope all the people who only bought arma for this mod leaves... More room on the server and FAR less idiots.

A perfect example of anti fun banditry
Sabre (DayZ) replied to Survivalist (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The far majority of the players here comes from the CoD/BF3 school, so you can forget all about immersion and mature playing! All you can do is hope these .... people... ultimately gets bored with the ArmA pace and returns to their normal Run-Gun-Derping. So yeah, unless I've played with you before and "know" you I'll just kill you in the name of survival. Untill rocket implements something that makes people think more than twice about smoking each other for the lulz. -
Seeing myself on my own map (with GPS)
Sabre (DayZ) replied to sashimi (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
CRASH COURSE IN GPS: Okay so you got your map, your compass, and a shinny GPS. So how do you find yourself on the map without looking for landmark references? The map comes equipped with x,y coordinates (0XX, 0XX) These are the values you need to pay attention to! With the GPS you will see a readout, fx: 053047 (somewhere NW, I believe) So what do I use these numbers for? 1: Split up the numbers accordingly 053 047. 2: On you map go horizontal (x-coords) till you hit 053 3: Then vertical till you hit 047 (y-coords) Now you have your location on the map. The more you have zoomed in on the map, the more accurate your readings will be. ENJOY! -
Basically all the CoD/BF3 fanboys are destroying the mod. During my first playthrough there was a good chance of cooperation whenever you actually meet somebody. Now it's just a teenage Deathmatch mod, no different from a Free-for-all match in CoD. It has nothing to do with zombie survival, it's all kill-stats and kids bragging about their DMR and how they're going to rape you with it. Personally I've stopped trusting just about anyone in this game and I'll kill on sight simply to avoid being killed myself. Especially with the retarded bug that prevents from ever returning to being a "survivor" because 1) everyone is going to shoot you, therefore you need to kill to survive 2) You risk losing your equipment when "transforming" back to a "good guy"... /RANT

ArmA 2: CO in "Top Seller" list
Sabre (DayZ) replied to griffinz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
"...and Im glad to see the arma community grow" Not likely. Most people only bought the game due to this mod and I doubt they'll like the real Arma 2 game. Fx: DOMI servers are as dead as ever despite the huge surge in "players" Once/if DayZ becomes a standalone game, then activity within Arma will drop dramatically. I dont view these people as a part of the ArmA community. They're temporary guests most likely coming from CoD or Battlefailed 3. However BIS is profitting from DayZ, which in turn such ensure that they'll remain friendly and supportive towards the community... Unlike DICE (burn in hell) -
is 50 player cap a design choice?
Sabre (DayZ) replied to super pretendo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You haven't played DayZ enough... The Wasteland is everybit as dangerous as Cherno and Electrolol, if not more as the most deadly players tend to spend their time there... -
No. It is not cheating, it's exploiting. Not that it changes it being "OP" or un-sporty. I've used it, and it's almost like having a free set of NVGs.

Just when I was getting bored with the game...

Join the Bean Wars... You'll have the biggest gun, and be sure to FRAPS your kill! -
Snatch an MP5SD from some unfortunate fellow tonight, and I am loving that weapon! Yet to see DMR or any of the other stuff. Not that I need them as the Enfield is epic at taking everything down in one shot, and ammo is never an issue with that thing.

Another possible hacker attack or admin abuse
Sabre (DayZ) replied to priestizzle's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The more attention DayZ gets the more bad-appels from CoD and BF3 will jump over to try their trolling on new people. I have no idea how god/bad Arma's security is, but I doubt it sinks as much as Origin, or whatever DICE is using for BF3. -
So tents work now and stays in place after server restart. Great news, Gab! What about the whole bandit/survivor switch bug?

Long story short I'm stuck with the Bandit outfit and -5000 in humanity even when I restart with a "new character. Server doesn't play any role. Is this an issue with my profile? I've encountered the problem in 1.5.4, and it persist in 1.5.5. Please help!
