I've been to the NWAF at least 30 times, sometimes solo and sometimes with friends or my clan. Usually we just find common military weapons (AKM, AK-74, M16 etc.), Though there's the occasional awesome loot. The best single raid I've ever had was with my clan, I found a Mk 48 (A scoped camo print M249), NVG's and a silenced M4, while one of my friends found a DMR and SMG. It just takes time and luck to get good gear. Once you have some decent gear, you should look for a vehicle and just travel from NWAF to Stary Sobor and back, usually the one will respawn it's gear while you're looting the other one.

I'm sorry' date=' but that's just not accurate. he works for BIS and this 'free mod' is currently making them lots of money I don't care, but the idea that he's just some user doing this in his free time is false [/quote'] It don't matter how much money BI are making from this mod, The fact is that Rocket started making this mod in his free time & because hes a game designer for BI he knows the ARMA engine well. Rumor has it BI asked Rocket to work solely on this mod because of it recent great sales, Although Rocket is getting paid by BI for developing this mod the fact of the matter is this mod is still free to us. At the end of the day you didn't buy DayZ, You bought ARMA II. Some people seriously need to get a "real" life, Go outside ..... If BI is paying him, first off, you cant just not show up at your job for several days because you felt like a vacation. Second if BI is paying him to make the mod then yes, we are PAYING for it by buying Arma 2, and Legaly speaking if BI is implying we can play this game, alpha or not, its their ass. You are a complete retard. DayZ is a free alpha-stage mod. You are entitled to nothing, regardless of where the mod's development funding comes from.

+1 I think characters should be server dependant, or at least put some restrictions, like to play on a new server you have to transfer your character with a 1 hour wait time. Server hopping is a massive exploit, things like wire fences and sandbags are pointless because someone can just hop server and log in behind them. Sniper on a roof a problem for you? Hop server, climb up and log in behind him. This needs to be dealt with, it's an exploit and nothing else. It should really be a bannable offence.

@OP No, you would in no way be considered a customer. DayZ is a MOD for Arma 2. You are a customer of BIS in that you bought A2. You're a tester of an alpha-state mod, for a game made by a company that you're a customer of. As for who owns it, I don't know, but I doubt with rocket being rocket, he would throw away his ownership willy nilly. He would either still own the entire thing, or have a partial ownership deal going with BIS. I'd assume the first, as BIS would want rocket to have complete creative freedom with DayZ, because him being able to experiment is what brought them all the money.

What is your logic, Bandits/PKers in general?
pyrokinetiq replied to avalontreman's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If I perceive someone to be a potential threat, now or in the future, I'll kill them. Generally if I feel someone isn't going to try to kill me (i.e. if someone catches me by surprise and doesn't kill me despite having the chance to) or is unarmed I'll usually try to cooperate with them. -
Zombies in buildings
pyrokinetiq replied to Honey_Badger (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Zeds previously spawned in buildings, it was broken at some point, and now FIXED. I prefer it this way, I mean do you really think in a zombie apocalypse, every building would be empty? Zombie hordes would just congregate outside with a phobia of going indoors? -
My percieved 1.7.1.4 issues
pyrokinetiq replied to Umber Skies's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I like a challenge, but I'd prefer: Fix zombie attack range: They're able to hit you through walls again, and can hit you from a good 4-5 metres away Fix sight: How it was in the previous few subpatches was great, I would much prefer that their detection was reattached to their eyes/head and their detection "rate" decreased again. I'd much rather staying hidden be realistically difficult due to zombies moving their heads around a lot, rather than the current broken/overpowered detection power that seems so high that zombies can often detect you through buildings. -
Why do all the idiots complaining about starting with no weapon and buffed zombie senses+damage completely ignore the fact that you can now ESCAPE ZOMBIES. You don't NEED guns, and the idea is to lose zombies before they hurt you. Just because the mod has taken a different gameplay angle than what you prefer, doesn't make it wrong. GTFO and don't come back.

I once found them each in barracks, second time I found them on a player I killed.

20 words or less: Spawning without a weapon
pyrokinetiq replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
YES It adds more reason for new players to group up, and also makes it safer for geared up players to visit the coast (less risk of getting makarov'd and losing all their hard earned gear), there will be more situations like I had yesterday, we drove along the coast and saved a newbie being chased by zombies. It was an awesome experience.
