  1. Why do people moan about being killed at the 'start' ?? You've lost nothing so just respawn and shut up crying.
  2. Surprised at the hostility and trolling in this thread. Sure the grammar is bad and claiming its a conspiracy theory is far-fetched, but it still leads us to an interesting topic... The psychology of players and how it has evolved through patchs. What I also find interesting is players actions in different servers. I have never been shot at in a canadian server. On a US server its normal for me to be shot at by players. On a russian server, everyone I have encountered has either been a hacker or shoot on sight...scary stuff.
  3. There will always be hackers in every game, unfortunately because of the way this mod is played, getting killed by a hacker is surely more painful then the majority of other games. But... You've just gotta man up and get on with it. Crying will not return your items and bitching will not do yourself any favours.

    Zombies running

    Short and sweet... Zombies are close to impossible to shoot when they aggro...this is my opinion why: 1. You cannot anticipate their movements...If i aggro a zombie i'd expect it to run directly at me (or around obstacles in a direct route towards me). Currently they like to do some sort of a 50meter sprint away from me in a random direction, followed by a scenic country sprint around me and then run towards me.......the movement of a zombie makes no sense. 2. Run speed.....the game prides itself on realism yet there is no way a zombie could run faster then Usain Bolt. Just no. Tone down the speed, please. Fixing points 1 and 2 will mean zombies could be shot if they aggro onto you (without being 1 yard away) This should mean that less people will be bothered above sight/hearing buffs by zombies (As zombies can actually be shot at distance, if aggroed). Currently i have seen mass moaning about the buff they have received in patch 1.7.2...this patch went live a few hours ago, so i can only anticipate there will be a hotfix or a ton of people will stop playing until the next update. I have a strong opinion, please do not flame me for posting this suggestion.
  5. So from the sounds of things the game has returned to a rather unplayable state.... If zombies weren't so impossible to hit while running/when they aggro on you, the zombie sight/hearing buff wouldn't be a problem. But there remains two initial factors that make shooting zombies close to impossible: 1. You cannot anticipate their movements (zombies should run directly at you...not zigzag all over the place). 2. They run extremely fast, combine this with point 1 and it makes shooting them very hard/pointless Fix the movement.

    I died from the large explosion thing, and so did everyone on the server...its when a hacker sets off a nuke effect because their penis fell off in real life and they have no friends.
  9. to the OP, nice thoughts and effort. However, I think that would actually create more pvp. What needs to be done is not adding more items and not making them rare. But infact, making items harder to acquire in terms of dodging zombies. At the moment you can solo farm all items to survive very easy. If we make it so that large buildings can only be farmed coop...that would encourage coop play. Lonewolves can still farm houses/shacks/barns etc. Coop play needs to be encouraged, but not through making items rare.

    To the OP. This is why melee weapons have been introduced. To bridge the gap between being useless and being able to survive as a new player. The hatchets are ri[/align]fe along the coast.

    Who uses that notation? I thought metric units notations were pretty standard and I have always km^2 defined "square kilometers." (See my screenshot above).     I've also been mercy to that, shot my winchester once in a barn, ended up killing another 16. Used all my ammo...wouldn't be so bad if the zombies were slow, but chain pulling them when they seemingly run 30mph and walk through walls is ridiculous. You have to wait till they are in front of you to shoot them.

    1.7.1.5 loot patterns

    Think people are expecting too much. This is a scavenge survival game, its not meant to be easy mode check a loot spot expecting decent things. Move town to survive, simple as that. There are plenty of areas with abundant loot. It is meant to be a challenge and a close shave, if it wasn't, it would get boring quickly. Get off the coast and you will find more then enough.

  17. The concept has such huge potential but in its current state I think it would be best launched as official DLC for Arma3. Perhaps start a kickstarter project to raise the funds needed for this.

    New zombie AI not fun.

    Well there certainly needs to be a rebalance in terms of zombies sight, I am crouching around, no zombie in sight, then one instantly aggroes due to the sound I make from about 30 meters away, and the zombie is out of my LOS. Scales need to be balanced on both sides to work. Its gone from one extreme to the other.

    Luckiest Spawn EVER!

    Spawned in the very bottom left of the map, one of my first playthroughs, ran straight through some woods ended up finding a campsite, searched all the tents, one of them had a silenced mp5 with 7 mags. Cheers. (Later died due to being a noob :) ).

This also happened to me, endured for a good few hours, then got a broken bone from climbing out a boat (lols) crawled about 6km to a hospital (lols) got outside it, its all glass panes and I have no gun (gg spawns) so I end up suiciding outside the hospital. (Herpa derp). A timer that runs offline would be ideal, make it a bit more brutal perhaps, like an hour or so?
  21. Hello, I am a noob. I've played for a total of 2 hours 30 mins and I have died 5 times. This game is awesome. I just want to recap on a few things, as a brand new player I think it is important that I sum up my thoughts, for this alpha phase game. Starting with no gun (I see a lot of people moaning about this). I think starting with a gun would be too easy. The stark realisation in a situation like this, is finding a form of defense such as a gun, unless you are american, they will be hard to come by. Also the main fun I've had so far, is trying to infiltrate a building so I can scavenge. Not instantly be being able to gun down a few zombies and loot a building straight away...no challenge in that. I mention I've died a lot so far, this is both from zombie encounters and players. So far all players I have encountered have killed me, which is kind of sad as I am hoping to encounter friendly people for coop. But perhaps, not surprising this is the case. My zombie encounters have been interesting, they are rather sparse and also very fast (I'm a poet...don't you know it) the run speed seems a bit...over the top for a lifeless speciman. Also, they seem to be able to have super senses, very quick to spot you and engage. It is annoying yes but perhaps add to the challenge, which is fun. I've been able to get away by either running up a mountain or going for a prolonged swim (although it seems when you swim your backpack vanishes?) My most interesting moment was coming across a camp, shocked I found one so easily, I did loot it (any person would do this) I was lucky to acquire a decent silenced weapon with 8 mags. (Thank you mr camper). This camp was surrounded by barbed wire and sandbags and had 6 tents in. All empty except the one. Well I've talked on for a bit about my most pressing thoughts, there is no real point to this thread I guess :/ Ps if you are looking for a friendly companion to wonder the desolate world, add my steam - flindy Thanks!

    New Player Issues

    I've only just started playing but I do not think it is too difficult. I've found that staying away from towns is key, find tiny villages with only a few zombies in, this way you can infiltrate easy and I've managed to find stashes of weapons etc. As with any survival situation, a lot of it is luck. Would be boring if it was not a challenge and a survival game is all about challenge.
