Hey everyone, So the past couple of hours I have been running around the Western border of the map looking for stuff. I ran into a couple of tents which didn't really have anything I wanted. Once I got to the Northern Border I decided the server I was in was pretty dry, so I hop onto another server I've been using, run for 2 minutes and find what looks like a camp a hacker made. In the camp there was like 20 tents (mostly empty) but one had like 10 M107s in it, and another had 20 Ghilli/Army suits and some other stuff. I took a Army suit, and then swapped it out for a Ghilli, then I started running back the way I came in the other server because I knew this one had a few vehicles in the North-West. Anyway, so now I'm running towards Grozovy Pass and all of the sudden my guy takes out my 1911, I get a big error message, and I hear a Zombie attacking sound. I disconnect thinking there's a glitch or something..., then I reconnect and I find that not only are the other things happening, but I AM THE ZOMBIE!?, I have almost no control, and I'm attacking the ground and moving like a Zombie does. My character also turned into the Zombie Pilot model...I have all my gear though and I'm bleeding... So now I'm in "OH SHIT MODE" and I immediately ALT-F4. Now I'm feeling pretty shitty at this point, I have some pretty good gear, my perfect gun setup, and I've spent all this time running up to the Northern border just to die because some hacker decided to be a dick... (Second time this week -_-) I restart DayZ and join the original server I was in thinking, OK well if I join another server Ill be fine right? Wrong, the same shit is happening even though I hopped into another server... Am I just plain screwed or what? I feel like there is a possibility that this is a glitch, but on the other hand, it seems too ridiculous... I really don't want to restart my character again... it would be the 4th time this week I've found a bunch of cool gear just to die after getting it, and the 2nd time from a hacker... My plan right now is that hopefully one of my friends will find a vehicle in the next day or so, then he can come to where I am and I can drop all my gear in it. Then once I die he can come get me. But to me that's a pretty shit plan... I'm basically in the middle of nowhere and I'm betting on someone else finding an off-road vehicle of some sort... Hello everyone, Today I will be writing what may be one of my last posts here. I'm sure many others have had the same feelings I'm having right now, but I feel it necessary to post this on the forums. I don't mean this to be another QQ post, but rather just what me, my friends, and I'm sure plenty of other people are thinking. So here's my story... The past month I've increased the amount I play DayZ by quite a bit... almost too much (been waking up at 1 in the afternoon the last few days... lol) but anyway, my friend and I have really done work to the servers we've been in. Several times running into other groups of people as much as 4-6 and totally decimating them. Even killing people with hacked guns (AS50 TSWs, G36s, ETC). I have to say that in the last week, we've probably racked probably around 30 kills (I know I had probably 600-800 zombie kills on top of that). We also had really sick gear, each of us had a AS50 TSW, full tool kits, ghiilli suits backpacks, ETC. So the point being, I was really enjoying DayZ, and even my friend who is SO IMPATIENT was having a good time. So anyway yesterday we decided to go up to the Northern Border after losing our 5th or 6th vehicle to try and steal our next vehicle instead of fixing one. We run around for a few HOURS, and then we both logged off near the dam. Then today he logs on by himself and gets killed by a hacker instantly. A few hours later I get on hoping to find a camp and get him some gear so he'll get back on and the same thing happens to me... a hacker spawns himself behind me says "You made me do this" and kills me. The point of all that^ is basically just to express a abridged version my personal experience with DayZ... Hours of fun, exhilarating experiences, and "hard work" just to instantly be murked by some douche-bag hacker. I feel like DayZ's developers are really onto something with DayZ. It is truly a great concept. But they have failed to protect the players interests. I will not burn hours and hours on a computer if in the end some hacker is just going to ruin it for me and my friends. I can't believe that hacking is still an issue, and that there isn't some way to recover your gear but that is my own opinion. Sincerely, DeathDealer117

Well you're right as well, but setting up camp is what a lot of people like to do. Personally, other than setting up a tent to stash some gear I can't hold at the moment, I don't hoard at all. I mean obviously I want a good loadout, but I'm not on a quest to get every vehicle in the game and park them in a vault. The main reasons I was trying to get a vehicle was to just get around quicker and to use as bait, which is something I've been trying to do for a few days.

How is it cheating when there are HACKERS, albeit nice ones, running around servers giving out AS50-TSWs to people, which isn't how I got mine. I killed another guy for mine. I have no idea how he got it but I killed him and his friend for it. You gotta play the game for what it is, and right now its a Zombie survival mod for a military simulator with twenty thousand hackers running around screwing with it. And that means me and everyone else is under the same rules, find gear and survive. Since I've been playing I've probably killed 5+ people with AS50 TSWs, at least 4 of those were not hacking at the time I killed them. Having hacked gear isn't cheating, maybe somewhat unfair for the people who don't have it, but considering a shit-ton of people do have it, I see no reason not to use it. Trust me, if I was the last guy with a hacked gun, and my AS50 TSW was the only thing from making the game fair, or if everyone else agreed to drop theirs too, I drop mine in a heartbeat. I want this game-genre to be what it should so badly, I wish I was on the dev team for every Zombie-Survival game coming out.

I'm not gonna disagree with you. Everything you said is right. But on the other hand, he has a mod that has a huge fan-base and to abandon it to hackers, especially considering most people bought ArmA FOR DayZ, I feel isn't right. I think that "cindyanne1" is right in that this game took off extremely fast, and it was probably too fast for ITS own good. Now in the future, I think we're all in for a treat of new zombie survival games that will be very refined.

I really tried to refrain from server hopping as much as possible this life. I had previously, trying to get vehicles working etc, but the loading screen... well... you know... So I i picked 2 servers that were reliable for me and stuck to them as much as I could. I wasn't server hopping at all the 6 hours that led up to when I got murked by the hacker. Say what you want about the AS50-TSW I had, but I got it fair n square. I have no idea how the guy I killed for it got it but I didn't hack for it at all. And as far as being up on the border, dude like 80% of vehicles are hidden on borders and I had just lost my 6th one...

You're completely right, I just can't stand the mod as it is now. If I do what I feel like everyone else is starting to do, I'll be sitting in some building/ on top of some mountain shooting scrubs/newly spawned players over and over, which I feel isn't fair. I cant tell you how many times I've spawn in Electro just to be shot by a guy on the hill with a sniper rifle. I mean to each his own... but in EVERY server in the entire game??? sounds a bit boring...

Explain how your not supposed to survive forever?! The game is built on the premise of surviving in a post-apocalypse world... and if I'm a better killer, sniper, survivalist, or whatever you are in this game, then why should I die? I've been playing this type of game for over a DECADE... I am extremely experienced with military simulators. I feel like I should survive a bit longer than the average joe that just hopped on DayZ...

Well I got it off a dead body... I mean yes sure I'm using something that is technically outside the mod but in the last two weeks I've ran into a whole bunch of people and bodies with them... I don't feel like its the same at all. I found the gun and have been running around killing people with it... this hacker, teleports himself around servers killing people as he sees fit. Hardly similar...

Hey guys, For some reason my Battleye client isn't working properly. Basically, I join a server (no problems there), then I play and within 10 minutes, a text pops up and says DeathDealer117 is losing connection, and then finally an error message pops up and says my Battleye Client isn't responding. I have no idea how to fix this, I tried redownloading Battleye and manually throwing it in the folder but that didnt do anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. DD117

First off I wanna say that... lolz at Brightbull who thinks 6-updater sucks. You can use it to play more than one mod... thats right guys... theres other things than DayZ... Secondly, hes right. Your gonna need to go back to ".4" in order to play. Im currently having the same problem. Been trying to join a older version for like 30 minutes and it just plain wont let me. My suggestion is to just wait it out a day or two. The other servers will surely be patching to this one ASAP, it fixes the glitches almost everyones been having.

I'm attached to the hours and hours running around looking for that gear... I'm only interested in this game to try and survive and If I can save my gear, I'm just going to pretend this never happened and keep walking right from the same spot I died in. I understand your point to some degree but I want to try and keep it this time.

Ugh... what a shame... Well thanks for the info guys. daedrick, Im going to sleep now but if none of my friends can help me tomorrow, Im very interested in you helping me out... It would be better to trust a stranger and risk losing my gear than to just lose it without trying...

This just happened to me. I posted a thread about it. I wanna say it was a hacker, but like you guys I am not sure... When I know one of my friends can come to my location to save my gear tomorrow, I may try to record it before I die. If anyone else comes across this feel free to PM me or reply to my thread. I almost feel like maybe this is the same hacker? Possibly? On a side note... F THIS GAME... play for 6+ hours on one character just to die from some hacker/glitch... ugh! haha

A few days ago I was punishing this game. I had traveled like 10 KM on foot finding a bunch of goodies. One goodie was a boat. I planned on taking it to the islands. On the way I stopped in Berezino to get some food. Once inside the town my internet died for some reason. At the time I just said screw it, Ill get back on later. Little did I know that was a bad idea... I have been pretty busy the last couple days so I havent been able to get on. Once I get on I find im dying of thirst, hunger and my blood is at 7K and rapidly declining, I had no idea that if you dont play, your character still gets hungry/thirsty... Also since the new patch, its completely black outside, I cant see anything whatsoever. It was so black on my screen that I rejoined another server because I thought the server was messed up. Once I found out that was the new patch, i did my best to light my way around using flares. I SEARCHED 10 BUILDINGS WITHOUT FINDING ONE CAN OF FOOD. Now this might seem like a rant, and I guess it kind of is. But in my defense, if the damn patch wasnt a complete fail, none of this would have happened. On top of that, when I rejoin to start a new character, I find you now start out with 3 medical supplies, and a damn flashlight... Im considering just waiting for either the next patch, or even the beta... The mod is a great concept, but if I'm going to burn 12 hours of my summer and then a patch comes out that kills me, Id rather not play at all...
