Make sure after you kill the animal you gut and loot it as fast as possible. I would recommend clearing space out in your pack before even shooting it. The bodies have been despawning within 30 seconds for me, just some friendly advice.

It's only surprising because in the last 2 months of playing, I've only met 2 people who were friendly. Everyone else who I've met has shot me, or tried to shoot me. I know that being a bandit means that I'll get mine from another player eventually, it's only that while I do seek out other players, a very tiny fraction of them have been friendly or even willing to part ways without confrontation, and I always try to talk to them before the shooting starts.

The very low percentage of deaths due to PVP is very surprising to me. I'd say 9 times out of 10 when I die it's from being shot. And on average when I die I usually have between 5 and 15 murders.

Maybe we're shooting reloads in dayz....

I was roaming through the woods once when 4 players in ghillie suits ran up behind me and hit me with a hatchet, knocking me unconscious. When I came to they had built a box of wire trap around me with no way to escape. They proceeded to throw tin cans at me and watch me starve to death.

So, you've just died and spawned on the beach, with nothing on your person. How do you guys go about getting the initial gear you need to survive, like a handgun, backpack, hunting gear etc. The way that I've found quickest is to forgo any scavenging at all, run to Cherno and find a gun, any gun, and try to kill another player who's either been scavenging or has come to cherno to pvp with military loot. It doesn't always work of course, and I die a lot, but it's the most fun and quickly rewarding.

Another tactic that I've found works really fast is to get a bunch of zombies on you in cherno and then just sprint around until you grab somebody's attention then ditch the train on them. You can just sprint in and out and be geared up

A friend and I were climbing the tower in Olsha (near NE AF), and I got to the top platform, with my buddy on the ladder climbing up to meet me. Turns out the platform wasn't big enough for two players, and as my friend comes up the ladder he smashes me into the railing, breaking my legs, knocking me out and making me bleed. We both start laughing, and I come to, so he climbs back down to make room for me to heal. As he gets back on the ladder he shoves me off and I fall 50 meters to my death.

I just stumbled upon a pig for the second time since the latest patch, and for the second time after being gutted he was eaten by the ground promptly. If you need raw meat, I suggest you make sure you have room in your pack to quickly loot the body, because it won't be sticking around for long.

Yup, same deal for me and my buddies. Ever since 94444 and 1.7.2, armory and single-player have been broken.

I've killed players with 3 shots to the body before. I don't know if it takes less than that, 3 is the fewest I've ever put into anybody.
